  1. So did you take to time to clarify if I did before you chimed in with a snide remark? That said you, exhibit holding yourself to a higher standard why? I'm confused Of course I verified the requirements met his standards. I also tend to go the extra mile and actually watch what's going on thus the reason I found out what they were preparing to do that afternoon. What they were doing does get me pissed because it is NOT in line with what they are supposed to be doing which is NOT "experimenting" with a food service facility and their patrons. Especially when what they were doing is potentially life threatening. Thanks for playing.
  2. You're spot on with what my wife said. It's still hard to witness myself so mentally tongue tied like that. Just goes to show how awareness of your surroundings, and experience in those situations helps. I was able to react when a guy was having a heart attack at CMH, but even there, a nurse jumped in as she had the true and proven knowledge of what to do. Here though, I feel like I was stunned. Like you said though, at least the boy was good and others were there too. Thanks man.
  3. Funny yes, but this will be sex for a while.
  4. The weather today was spectacular and anyone with kids couldn't have scripted a better day to hit the Columbus Zoo. It was a good day but filled with three events that left me a bit uneasy. First, we came across a little boy freaking out as he was seperated from his parents. A ranger came up and helped calm the situation and 20 minutes later the parents made there way over and were reunited. A good ending but a freaky feeling nonetheless to see a child around 6 years old so scared. That's one of my biggest fears as a parent, to have your child lost or worse yet, taken. The next was at lunch. My wife took the kids to get their food, I got ours. I found a table in the food court and no sooner after I sat down a young girl about 10-12 screamed like she was being killed "Oh my God!" several times. She knocked her chair over, yelled "where's my mom! The surreal part is I can relive myself trying to make sense of it all. At first I thought it was bug. Then I saw her little 6-8yr old brother what looked like puking. At first I thought he was just getting sick. My brain couldn't process what was happening fast enough. I then thought why would he be puking? Peanut allergy or reaction or something? My son has a deadly allergy so my mind is always on that when around food. The mom next to me shot up and grabbed him and crushed his stomach with a squeeze and out popped 1/2 of a hot dog. I'm still freaked about it all. Bummed at myself too as I felt helpless and stupid. I really had no idea WTF was going on. My brain just couldn't process what was happening to him. Lastly, As we exit we got funnel cakes and I went back up to get one after saying no, only to see the kids working there preparing all kinds of candy to deep fry. They then tell me they have been "experimenting" with all kinds of stuff. FUCKING Pay Day and Snicker's Bars! I yelled at my wife and kids to not eat anything. I yelled so loud everyone in the plaza likely heard me. I am still in disbelief that we came within bites of my son having a potentially fatal reaction. I'm off the hook mad but handled myself well with those kids and their "supervisor" who is all of about 18 himself. That absolutely is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Not to mention a jail sentence for me if something would have. Long rant to let this old guy vent out some stress and anxiety. Still a good day? We had a good time and kids weren't even really aware, but I'd rather not repeat the events. Good night all!
  5. The Supra looks bad-ass. I like it. If it was black it would be perfect.
  6. Yep. My brother in law paid about the same for their house as we did ours back in the 90's. He sold it 6 years ago to move into their current one and it sold for a lot more than ours was appraised at.
  7. Housing prices are more than here for sure, but what a dollar gets is a relative to what you are looking for and consider reasonable. We live in a very reasonable larger 3 bedroom here that is no where near the cost of what we would spend if we moved up to the NW. However, it's exactly what we wanted for when we bought here in Cbus at the time. Up there our home would likely be $280k but it wouldn't have much land. At least here our lot is the best in our entire 72 home development and that to me is a huge selling point. Dublin Schools are strong as hell too which counts. Not sure of the school systems in our area of Oregon. If/when we move up there I wouldn't buy a suburban home, it would be with 2-5 acres of land. Likely in the $500-650k range total. It's either going to be that or not move. I'll pay more for the land and area with a smaller home vs overpaying for a larger home on no land. My brother in laws place is up in the hills on 5 acres where most have to be custom built. It's about 3,600sq ft. and total price was $950k. Beautiful home, best area of the hills and on same good acreage. Worth the money but higher than what I would spend. They are both MD's with their own practice though so really it's nothing for them.
  8. Here's a signature file for you created from one of the shots you said wasn't what you were looking for. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/137576253/original.jpg
  9. I don't know the settings on the camera well and the dial shown is a little obscured. If there's a P or Program mode, it will be better than full on auto as you'll be able dial down exposure values. Overall though, if you're not familiar with the gear and some aspects of photography, I'm not sure if what we'll say will make much sense. Aperture or A mode is a good way to start but then the camera has such a small sensor, it's not necessarily going to yield much in the way of background blur or bokeh. What you can do to help isolate the subject and get that effect is to stand back and zoom 75-100% of the way in. In terms of sun/reflections, the camera lacks a polarizer so that's a no-go. You can however and likely will get better results between 7-9pm as the sun will be low. Keep it behind you. The way the camera is capturing the color is typical of Fuji. They don't yield the best colors in daylight. You can even see where it's White Balance is off. Then it is a sub $300 super zoom. Photoshop will be your friend there. Get low too. Standing shots for cars are usually boring. All other typicals apply, rule of thirds, horizon lines, keeping an eye on the histogram and avoid over exposure. I hope the above is some help.
  10. So I'm not the only one that thought the intro was a little..... Anyway, welcome.
  11. hey now, you're going to get my ass whooped!
  12. Andy. If you're not pleased and happy with his work and pricing, ban yourself. He's good. /thread.
  13. Get that off there quickly. Wife had a big splat hit our black minivan and I had to buff it out to remove the spot it etched into the clear coat.
  14. Likely near the freeway. My guess right by the substation. They will get tons of traffic both ways. I say exit south, hit Tuller, enjoy the twisties and head down to 33, turn north.
  15. Paint ball blue jay style
  16. Say it isn't so! :fuckyeah: Distract him so I can steal his car.
  17. Very nice! I agree, that drive is a blast.
  18. " I have designed and built bodies and paint schemes for the race cars for years" Something tells me we might just have some worthy photos to see. Can't wait. Post 'em up and make us jealous. Welcome.
  19. So do the extra warm silent & yet deadly ones get you in trouble? My son drops those in the grocery store then walks away to look at cereal boxes while everyone then looks at me as the guilty one
  20. http://i371.photobucket.com/albums/oo160/jeffro1265/Put%20in%20Bay%20raceday/IMG_0056.jpg ^^ Love the car, but he really needs to invest in a clear bra. http://i371.photobucket.com/albums/oo160/jeffro1265/Put%20in%20Bay%20raceday/IMG_0062.jpg ^^ reminds me of the movie Cars http://i371.photobucket.com/albums/oo160/jeffro1265/Put%20in%20Bay%20raceday/IMG_0067.jpg ^^ Fun cars. I'd like to have one. http://i371.photobucket.com/albums/oo160/jeffro1265/Put%20in%20Bay%20raceday/IMG_0046.jpg ^^ That's me rubbing the wood I have in my pants from that car.
  21. Not my shot but rather one I post processed for fun. I'm a huge fan of monotones, sepia's, old school desaturated grainy looks, etc... http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/137533535/original.jpg
  22. "culturally offensive" so I suppose telling the Afghanistan people to "grow a pair" and deal with it wouldn't be inappropriate? I'm sorry sir, I didn't mean to relieve my body of undue pressure, my apologies. now, if you would excuse me, I need to go blow a hole in the head of some insurgents. I hope that doesn't offend you.
  23. it's a very commonly used technique of rendering. more detailed and realistic fly-through's are also used as the project progresses. I agree, it's not the best looking design. However, I'm not really interested in seeing it come to Columbus.
