You're home is worth what someone is willing to pay for it not what the auditor values it at. He's not buying it. It's just an assessed value for tax purposes. Don't feel too down in the dumps. Just watch the comps in the area. Right now it's supply and demand with the economy in terms of jobs not helping us. Investment wise, I never considered our home an investment. I don't think it ever was for most of us. Not if you had a mortgage and paid all that interest. You're losing every month. A house and it's payment is really more about a lifestyle. We have good friends who bought in Tartan Fields, and it's a magnificent home. They put down a ton of money, but then they also have a mortgage that's 3x what ours was. We could do that, but instead, I'd much rather bank all that interest vs paying it to live there. Now my parents who have never had a mortgage on the house they are in, they still had a cost associated with living their, but they never got stuck with interest payments. We got ours yesterday. Down from what it was a few years ago, but still worth a lot more than we paid and since we are all but paid off, I really don't care. To me the house is nothing but a huge pile of dollar bills that we live in and call a home and that will just change from this home to another at some point in the future. The people that are fucked are the ones that aren't just assessed at lower than they paid, but truly have homes valued at more than they paid or worse yet, less than what they owe. IE....borrowed from their one time touted home equity. Ouch! Dumb too. My wife meets with them daily.

me too, but that's the point. I want to be up there, face that fear, have the pressure of others to inspire me and conquer that bitch by just doing it. fuck it, if my shoot doesn't open, it's definitely not going to end well, so let's aim for top speed. besides, you'll be tandem I'm sure.

No, I'm busting your chops about the thread already existing. No comment on your food until you come over and make me a sammich after you wash the MS3 for me. :gabe:

Perhaps, but there is a leash law. No leash, owners fault, thanks for playing. In terms of kids, parents have a responsibility too. IMO, not being in control of a toddler or young child to the point that they take off in front of a moving car is the parents responsibility or irresponsibility. I've had encounters with kids on my street too and I'm pretty vocal to the parents to get their damn kids out of the street. It's not a play area. Use their damn back yard. If they choose to let their kids play in a street then they are completely irresponsible and endangering their kids lives. Fuck them for putting me coming home from work in a situation that could result in me killing their child. That pisses me off. Streets are for cars, back yards are for kids. I have two dogs, a fenced yard, always 110% always on a leash if outside my yard. I have two kids that play in the back yard. I pick up the dog shit and they enjoy good times safely. They do play in the front but again 110% do not ever cross the sidewalk. They are ages 5 and 8 and listen well. Selfish, irresponsible parenting that potentially costs a child's life and puts another innocent driver to live with that for the rest of their lives. Again, not condoning the speed portion, but just the same, I will not condone a parents responsibility or lack there of. In the case of the dog owner, he's 100% to blame. He's trying to shirk his own responsibility by simply saying that the driver is at fault for his actions. Two separate issues in question. Both are wrong.

You should be serving time for that. Nice find!

So your neighbors dog being off leash, running loose and getting hit by a car is the driver's fault? You're saying it's happened a second time too? Is you're neighbor really that stupid? Really? :dumb: Sounds like one of most irresponsible dog owners around. IMO he shouldn't be allowed to own a dog. I certainly hope they don't have kids. :megusta:

It is a nice place. Better location to travel from than say Seattle too. The reason for our trip is we closed on a property as a seller. It was a quick flip from a foreclosure. Market hasnt been hit nearly as hard in Oregon as here thus there are good deals to be found and still made. We were going to rent it but the client came through as a buyer instead. It was a relatively small/cheap sale of under a $100k. Lower risk really. If you are considering it prices upmthere are back to 2001 levels. May dro some more still but again, look for the bargains. We're rolling the dice again on a little larger one this next time. Heading back there in late sept to check on a few options. I can bring back info if you wish.

Eugene is like Granville. Economy isn't great there. Logging is pretty much tapped out. Paper mills going but weak. Several larger business have moved. Yadda yadda. Springfield is the same only more like a Grove City. My brother in law is big fish in little pond so to speak. They have very nice areas of town too though. I'd live there for sure. Just gotta get my wife to take another Bar Exam :fuckyeah:

The building and apartments are off 18th in Springfield. Our family lives in Eugene.

I'm not far behind you, but offer still stands that I will come over and personally bring your butt to Cup O'Joe. Now with your son having wheels, you need to have him bring you and show us his new ride!

C&C man. No one bites. If they do and she's cute, I call first dibs. :gabe:

^^ Exactly the same feeling and upbringing. I've told the story before that my cousins who both had to work their ass off to drive a POS hated me and our other two cousins who got really nice cars. Those of us who had nice ones respected them and took great care of them. The others were bitter and hated their car and treated it like shit. I enjoyed working to put nice tires, stereo, etc...on mine. They hated theirs and hated working to pay for gas. My kids respect what they have and I've been putting $100mo into a savings account for each one since month one. My son has enough to by me a car now However, it won't all go towards a car.

Reason #4,356 why I don't go on cruises with masses of people I don't know personally. Someone is bound to act like an ass.

Just looking for a solution here man.....you don't have room for a vehicle in your garage? I'm not saying she's not over the top, but I'm also not saying you likely have a ton of stuff that likely is demanding a bigger home or a sale of some sort? Again, keeping it real for the other 700+ neighbors. In for pics of said daughter. :gabe:

Good times! Enjoy the trip man. Soak up the weather as August is the best time to travel up there. I always find it interesting to see the markers where come winter you will need studs or chains. Ohio people would freak with that much snow. :gabe:

So are you mad about the trailer, boat or the car in the street? So your garage doesn't have room for the trailer or your boat? Are you telling me that you park your car overnight on the street everyday? I'm not saying you don't move it, but do you park it there everyday like it's your driveway? Don't you have room in your garage or driveway for a car? I agree with that code too. I sure as hell wouldn't want to look at a trailer in my neighbors driveway all the time. Sorry. I don't worry about it much as those around me who have boats either put them in their third car garage or at the marina. The way I see it is if they can't afford to store them, or keep them where they belong, then they have other issues besides city codes or HOA's. Our big thing around us is people parking on the street. Sorry but I'm a snob there too. Depends on where you live I guess, but fuck in Dublin if you have so much shit that your garage is full and you can't park a car in you driveway then move to a bigger house. If you can't afford it then get rid of the toys you can't afford or for Christ's Sake move to a neighborhood that allows you to have a smaller mortgage so you can afford storage for the toys. In our area, tons of cars would make the neighborhood look like the hood. Besides, it's unsafe for kids and families biking or running or hell, even driving. Thankfully we don't have much of an issue. However, we only 72 homes not 700+. WOW!

Well, the clear bra did it's part :fuckyeah:

I farted. I felt nothing nor did the dogs here at the house react and they normally go nuts when I fart.

Let's do the Sky Dive thing Kevin. I'm game. Just don't go after me as I'm sure I'll shit my pants but have fun doing it :lolguy: Seriously, call or text me. I want to do it as well.
-
I like the comment about how can glide like that with balls that big That shit beats cars and the rush of racing any day.
-
^^ 200% truth to this. Clear bra is way better than repainting. Cheaper too. The only time any yellowing is really going to be seen is on white or silver and only if you abuse it in the winter. If you do a summer only car it won't turn nearly as fast as the old stuff did. I'm no where near as picky about my cars as they are strictly cars and daily drivers for me anymore but when I get my toy, it will be done all over.

Investment property. We own an 8,000sq.ft. medical building which is where my brother/sister in law have their practice. We also own an 8 unit apartment behind it. Was a package deal. Caretaker/property mgt guy is a tenet Thanks! It's on my bucket-list to retire there. We will live there soon. No better place IMO. You can be in on the Ocean, in the dessert, mountains, in jungle, etc....all that within hours. Tons to do outside and some of the best wildlife around. We saw a black bear on the road to my brother inlaws place, a cougar followed us on a hike (yeah, little scarey) but we were armed and he was more curious than anything...right up until he hear the warning shot :gabe: They have dear nesting in their yard too. Hell, I wanted to pop a wild turkey we saw in his garden but he wouldn't let me He has five acres in the southern hillside of Eugene. Not cheap though, very nice custom home though, but for nearly $1M it better be.
