bark collar / shocking kind ? sounds cruel but our very first boxer wore one for about 1 week. we still talk about who she hated it and would bark and wince sucking up the charge, which increased if the dog continued to bark. again, she would bark at you not stop as if she was egging you on and didn't care what you said or did. one day she just stopped outside a few barks if she saw someone out front. after taking the collar off she did bark at people, dogs, typical stuff outside and while looking out the window, but the constant stuff stopped cold.

They didn't upon their initial flapping of the lips. When my wife and I showed up, I let her lead by handing them her business card. :gabe: Their big point is that I'm training him and of course they are trying to spin it that it's aggressiveness on his part thanks to me. Husband was low key, but I did seriously want to drop the bitch mom myself. :fuckyeah: I told her that it's her responsibility to teach their son how to behave properly as it was his action that put him in harms way. I also reiterated that Nick actually was pretty gentle with his technique. He could have easily elminiated the threat in a 2-3 different more serious ways. I said he showed excellent judgement. Same here. I was 12 when I started and it wasn't until I got in a fight in 9th grade that ended badly for the guy fucking with me that people stopped egging me on. I was about 150lbs all through school, so fiarly lean, but as you know it's not about size. I've been training him at home off and on. I used to instruct a kids class so I have loads of things to show him, but try and keep it to the less harmful and aggressive moves until he's a little older. He keeps it low key. I actually don't tell him any particulars. He just knows I'm teaching him how to defend himself and that training is no different than him learning to swim or play ball. This way he isn't inclined to go around talking about it. He's a big soccer nut so leg moves are easy and natural for him. He likes that I've explained such moves are not what anyone typically expects either. Most kids anticipate a punch. I trained in Jujitsu and Savate. What style(s) have you studied?

I don't for one minute think Coleman would have cut the police. That was just a cheap scare tactic. Who cares if he does; perhaps more people will go through CCW Classes, leave lights on at night and actually form a real block watch program. The system is fucked up. They need to change the retirement plans for cops and teachers and other state workers that are what is bleeding us dry. Fuck their state tax money paid lifestyles and sweet ass retirements. It's a crock of shit the way it's run and it's time that train be derailed. One of my customers has a wife that worked in the Dublin School District for 30yrs. She put in a ton of overtime tutoring, etc...her last three years to jack up her W2. Her plan is basically that she gets 66% of her average of the top three years pay for the rest of her life. Bullshit. She's barely 55 and likely going to make all that money and benefits for nearly as long if not longer than she worked and contributed herself. They need to jack the working term to 40 years just to insure we don't go broke. Same for public service. Pouring more water into a leaky bucket isn't a fix.

Haha! I feel the same way. Although both respond pretty quick for us, but I've told my kids if they ever need to hit the panic button on the alarm, to hit both fire and police. Let there be a party of uniforms at the house should be get robbed. Someone is very likely going to have a bullet in them regardless so why not.

So my 8 year old son who is a completely non-violent kid got in his first fight. He's in the last week of summer camp at a private school prior to starting the 3rd grade. Evidently there's been a kid from Olentangy district that has been causing trouble and in general acting like an idiot. Yesterday he decided to pick on my son and actually punched him in the stomach. My son who was hunched over, stood back up, but before the kid could hit him again, swept the kids legs out from under him causing him to fall pretty hard. (yeah, he learned that from me :gabe: ) He's not hurt but has a case of bruised ego. Especially since he's about 15lbs heavier and taller than my son. Beautiful thing is it was all caught on in classroom security cameras. The kid clearly was cocking his arm back for another punch too. I wish I could post it. Fuck the parents of the other kid who are trying to "threaten us" with legal BS. Their kid has a recorded history at this school and his primary school of such shitty behavior. I'm looking forward to their bullshit. My son's never even been sent to the office and avoids trouble by walking away. This event had my son backed into the locker area where there was no way out. So how old were you when you had your first fight. I was 9-10yrs old. I remember not really knowing what to do other than swing. It wasn't until I saw the class geek whip the snot out of someone picking on him that I buddied up with him and went to his martial arts class. We were friends through college thanks to that.

that's what I was thinking :gabe:

I agree. The system is fucked up. The wife and I work with our accounting firm and financial planner to do all that we can to insure we don't hit the next tax bracket up and shield everything we can. I'm not volunteering any more of our money to fund the bullshit that runs rampant in our society. I throw up in my mouth every time I look at how much we pay Uncle Sam. I'm sure you're in the same boat if not an even bigger boat.

This same amoeba was featured on an early episode of "Monsters Inside Me" In the show, a little girl in Oregon caught it from ingesting water as she played in her kiddie pool. Water that came from the family's well that had a cracked lining and thus became contaminated. Scary stuff.

IMO the ZR1 Driver needs to stick to Honda Civics. Did anyone else notice the amount of tire dressing still present? Did the driver lube up the back wheels too? I can imagine the car behaved as if it was on ice. I mean the car looks like it was detailed on the side of the road prior to this run. WTF, are you kidding me? http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/137271376/original.jpg

Some will say the red/black is overdone, but I like it. Came across this today and the stance to me is just perfect. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhlCFDY0b0g&feature=related

some good references here. looking at bunkloft, but prefer to find something used if possible given they are so plentiful on the market and honestly, $1,200 new which is what the ones I'm looking at are priced at, is a bit more than I want to spend. keep them coming.....

http://news.yahoo.com/video/world-15749633/laid-off-workers-hit-canadian-lotto-jackpot-26262465.html Cliffs: 18 workers in Canada win $7M or $388k ea. Not a huge amount after taxes but gross vs gross they said it's equal to about 12yrs worth of pay. For a group of $32k/yr blue collar people, that's cool. Nice to hear that at least those who work hard and fell on hard times are getting made whole when they need it most. Guy interviewed said, it's not life changing but at least keeps them comfortable. Reminder...spend at least $1 this week on lotto. Good Shit sometimes does happen.

Looking to see what folks on CR might have for sale. Looking for a bed set for my son age 8. Something nice, not interested in the economy style metal or cheap wood sets. Want a nice loft style full size bed on top with desk and dresser area below. Found a nice one on Craig's List today, but it's likely gone already. Waiting on confirmation and hoping. Let me know what you might have. Pics too. Thanks!

Consumer grade are ones that are not environmentally sealed. Consumer grade examples are typically kits lenses or less costing zooms in the $200-$800 range. Again, it can happen to the best lenses too if left in damp conditions. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you're shooting in damp or wet environments often. As Kevin said, try not to store them in bags that would hold moisture. When I shoot in damp, humid or wet conditions, I let them dry out very good before storing them.
-
Consumer lenses are more susceptible since they are not environmentally sealed. However, if the seals are broken it can happen. I collect silica packets from vitamins, etc and usually toss them on the shelf where I keep my gear and a few in my bags. If the ones for sale are L lenses or high quality ones, it might be worth calling to find out the cost to refub them. My guess is likely $200 to do it.

Beautiful Car. Mean looking. IIRC your car was shown in a few upgrade shots here from either IPS or PPC ? One similar anyway.

And that looked like a good idea to run there? Looks like the driver was awarded with a taste of his own stupidity.
