I have little doubt there's cheating going on. Is it rampant, not likely, but it's there and in some areas more than others. Until it's a focus of lawmakers there's little we the people can directly do. IMO one of the main reasons he was elected was his bombastic blowing of shit up and directness. I think half the country does and will continue to look for that. He attempted to do shit in a world where doing shit is more of an illusion. He focused on the country and people, listened to them and didn't talk down to his base. He accomplished a lot for many and got the ball rolling. Opened a lot of eyes wider and motivated more than most ever expected. Or maybe they did and they feared that. They being people on both sides of the isle. To your point about a third party run, I think with him out if the two sides go back to their old ways it would be a mistake as I would put money on his supporters backing an independent now more than ever. Especially if he came back and pushed that. Who knows, when Barren is 18 and Melania moves on/if she does, he might be bored enough to make another run in 2024.

Based on Biden's remarks that said be patient and continued on to praise our election system admired around the world......I will take that as he has no interest in trying to dismantle the electoral college system. Let's see should he win if he will hold to that statement over the next few years.

HOA wants us to remove part of our new driveway

That is huge man. Not that I would care if I lived in the area but I do have some thoughts. Scale it back a bit and hide it. Go half as wide to the left and instead of cutting it into the tiny corner of grass by the sidewalk, move the edge closer to the house and line the whole thing with taller shrubs and put a nice planting bed of flowers in front of those shrubs. That would not only hide it but it would look much nicer. As several noted, it looks like a parking lot, etc. Not sure if all that makes sense to you but it may be a worthwhile compromise within your situation. -
Thanks man. Paint is about 15 years old. Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk

Thanks Clay. Yes/No on the tail lenses. The outside polished up just a bit but they are crazed and cracked in some places that leaning in too much given how brittle they are so old and likely hard to get, I went easy on them. I do think there's a very likely chance they could be sanded and polished to near perfect but Doug and I agreed to error on the side of caution. I wouldn't be so concerned if the parts themselves weren't so difficult to get and expensive as a result. In the end, the vehicle is aging gracefully is how I leave it.

So a friend of mine and local car enthusiast that many I'm sure have seen at Columbus Cars and Coffee had me work on another one of his fun cars. This one is a worked over 302 powered TR6. He's owned the car for over 30 years and had everything from the drive train and frame to every panel on the car replaced and updated. It's not perfect but it's fun and pretty clean for what it is. LOUD as hell and crazy quick thanks to power and low weight, it is certainly a toy that any car guy can appreciate. Paint wise, it's bright red color was applied about 15yrs ago and has up until this detail never seen a polisher. Just hand washes with basic detail spray applied. He brought it to me for a light polish and a full ceramic coating over wheels, paint and glass. Paint in some areas was thin so we went with as much correction as we could with safety of course being first and foremost. Overall it turned out great and even the wheels polished out surprisingly well and were coated as well. The roof was wrapped a while back and it too turned out great. Interior wise, it wasn't on the list but I couldn't resist doing it as a bonus, I cleaned the the mats and carpet up with the Tornador Velocity Vac which pulled out every bit of dust and decades of much out to help rejuvenate the appearance. And while normally a full steam clean would be best to reduce the "old car" era smell, a full treatment with Chlorine Dioxide helped bring back a fresh clean scent but the owner suspects it will smell like exhaust and rubber again shortly Enjoy the pics and look for it at the next cars and coffee if the weather permits.

Agree. Need him to come build me one like that so quickly. Nicely done!
-
Agree. Haven't read through it all but in the end, I will be if it's just more layers of nothing I'll vote it down. The oversight committee we already have in the form of a grand jury works so let it. IMO what's needed with the police is to end the protections and bullshit related to the cops involved in shady incidents. Even the good cops want that to change.

We just had a second iPhone 6s (daughters) fail due to a lousy battery. This looks to be to be a $100k iPhone situation just waiting to happen. Not sure how much life a 7 year old Tesla has in their batteries but I know they degrade and I'm sure GM will be playing catch up on reliability. Sad but true and when the new C8's are experiencing what they are, I'm not sure GM is ready to roll out all this newness.

Looking forward to seeing it.

Color wise, Sony has the widest gamut and most true color overall. We have two of their best units and even though they are 1080P models from years ago they still are amazing overall. Following this thread as this Christmas is my move to put an 70-80" bad-boy in our lower level.

Honestly, that's the ONLY drawback to the Polyaspartic for me. It is cost too but with a lifetime warranty and one and done application, it's attractive. I just don't if I'm up to clearing out my garage into a storage cube in my driveway like that. Yes, the downside to the Swiss Track Ventilated floor is the build up of dust and leaves, etc. that will happen. I mean, I see all these really cool kick ass garages on YouTube but the reality is mine is a real suburban garage not a pristine detail center and it gets dusty/dirty and needs cleaned. To do it with an epoxy floor is just so much easier. It's likely a 2021 project for me now at this point so I'm still looking.

$4.50 to $5.25 or so.

Columbus Garage Floors seems pretty legit. I toured a customer garage near me and he was VERY pleased. Lifetime warranty on the Polyaspartic set up I am looking at. Just pricey. All 3 companies I looked at were in the same ballpark cost wise. I can dig up the other 2 but I left it that I would use CGF if I decided to go that route. Not entirely what you asked for but what I found after researching things.

I love it. Looks great. Simple, sexy and yeah, slow but still cool.

So most everyone on CR probably Knows Nick and his super clean S10. He's been wanting it polished and coated for a while now and thankfully today the stars aligned. For those that don't know this S10 just about 30 years old and as you can see has been well cared for. Nick had Andy Polish and Coat it years ago and even through all the great care it did need an updated coating and a nice once-over to remove the faint swirls that were there. In addition to The polishing, Nick added a 3 layer Coating Package on the paint. He also went all-in to help keep this beauty nice adding in wheel coating over his flawless set of wheels. I love the clean simple design. Glass coating all around and as a bonus I topped off all trim as a nice bonus. Lastly, Nick said he has NEVER had the interior detailed beyond just a regular vacuuming. This is where having the right tools made it more fun. The Tornador Velocity Vac pulled dust and dirt out of the carpet and seats like crazy. The red interior changed shades before my eyes and began to light up a bit. Next up was my new Steam Extractor to clean the seats and carpet. WOW! What a great upgrade and one I'm glad I pulled the trigger on. The extractor is powerful enough to lift the carpet in the vehicle. So after a full interior and exterior, this beauty is ready for some fall cruises and should be super easy to maintain going forward. Thanks again to Nick for his continued trust in my work. I can't wait for you to see it in person. Onto the pics!

Having been "grounded" from work travel I've had a chance to really spend some time in my sons little corolla and for the money it's dang nice. Just don't try and pass anyone on a two lane road unless you want to die. Should easily last 250k miles and from what I've seen they are bulletproof reliable. The latest gens are actually really nice looking for a compact car and can be had cheap with low miles on them. Not $5k cheap though.

So a return customer who searched long and hard found a real gem. A super rare 2011 335D M-Sport Package BMW with only 42k miles on it is now his. This car was very well cared for and at some point in it's life was said to have been corrected and coated. No coating or any protection remained apparent as I cleaned it but it was still pretty clean. Light swirls filled the paint but honestly, nothing that a good polishing wasn't able to correct. It was slightly dull and oxidized but again, targeting full protection here was key, so Doug went with my Premium Enhancement Polish and a 3-Layer Ceramic Coating System that will safeguard it as it's going to be living outside a garage here in Ohio. This awesome car is one of many that I love but will share that if I had the opportunity to buy this for the price he did, this thread would have me owning it in less than a few seconds. Inside is like brand new just like the outside. In fact it's as clean inside and out as my 2018 Q and while I'm not extra OCD, I do keep it pretty nice. This is a unicorn of a car for sure. Featured in Black Sapphire Metallic the paint sparkles in the sun but has a super deep look to it in the shade. It's a see to believe in person car for sure. I don't drive customer cars but this one is carrying a stealthy piggy back tune that is clear adds to the power of the car. It fires right up like new and is tight handling and feeling like one would expect an MSport to be. It's most definitely not a one handed turn around in a parking lot car it's that tight. Anyway, onto the pics of yet another beauty in the hands of a Columbus Car Guy.

So one of our very own, Chris Green, has a beautiful 2016 F-150 that he's had for 4 years and just under 35k miles and it was time for it to have a refreshing. It's his "baby" and one of the few trucks with this much real estate that I've seen free of door dings. Kudo's to his care and staying away from shopping carts. Sitting outside under big oak trees takes its tole on the vehicle and the sun really beats down on the black trim turning it grey over time too. His wasn't too bad but faded enough that a coating alone wouldn't restore it. Plans were to give it good cleanup inside and out. Outside we looked at a my Basic Clean and Protect to help keep costs down and instead apply the savings to help address the interior where kids take their toll and also leave enough to apply a 1 year ceramic coating. Part of the exterior was to address the fading trim by restoring it all around and to do the same for the ever dreaded Weather-Tech Floor mats that never seem to clean up perfectly. They just remain dull and with their texture dirt really gets embedded deep into the grain. On top of the exterior we also went with a good wipe down and vacuum and addressed the dirty the mats too. Results came out pretty well as Ford has some good quality paint in terms of responding to correction. I leaned into for Chris who I've known since well before CR was formed and nailed upwards of 95-100% correction for him. Huge shout out to him for coming in a day early to allow me the opportunity to work on his baby and the bonus of bringing some great tasting home brew! Enough chatting.....onto the pics! Chris lives where mud is unavoidable. The tires here were stained with dirt. Mats cleaned up and restored great! The mud here is stained and AFTER a good power washing remained visible Mud and debris gone! We gotta have perfected B-Pillars Brutal Sun takes its toll on plastic trim and tonneau covers and bumpers but I can address that too

LOVE IT! Really looks great. I drove one a year or so ago while killing time in Marysville and would own one for sure. Glad you settled on something that you like and works great for you. Given we've stepped up our plans to move to some land by several years, I could see this in my garage.

Haha. I had to fess up to the residue though [emoji1] honestly, they don't bother me. Would live with the rings in lue of the power which is addictive. Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk

Will 2nd both places. Have used both and am comfortable vouching for them.

Thanks guys. Unfortunately the trim rings are translucent/clear but not really. In defense however, I took the pics prior to my "final" walk around and clearing of ALL the polish that may have dried. It's a primer for the coating so I have to wait until it fully cures and shows up and I did have some here that needed cleaned up. I took the pics while the sun was in a good spot brightness wise and left the final stuff until before the owner picked it up. Difference wise, it's fun to see for sure. I probably should at some point take the time to do a full before and after series. I'm hit or miss there as I tend to stay focused on the job at hand vs pics. Photos take time and I I tend to move fast and don't stop. I have another 10yr old Black car coming and have no doubt it needs love. LOL!

First, many special thanks to David Harris from here on CR who I had the opportunity to help with his beautiful red Firehawk nearly 2 years ago. David provided me this referral to help restore a very cool car to what it really should have been from the get-go. As you can see, it was hammered. Car washes and normal everyday driver care at large, took it's tole and left it very Meh....in terms of what a pure black car should look like. One of the reasons I like pure black so much is the transformation is often very dramatic and it is a WOW! factor that everyone can see and appreciate. This vehicle was no exception. The challenge with Tesla is the paint quality for the cost just doesn't live up to the competition. It's very erratic in thickness and the rear deck lid by the license plate is dangerously thin and as here on this sample, even lacks paint towards the top of the license plate. It's almost as if the machines painting it are dead on perpendicular to the panel but never get enough color coat up to the top. To top it all off the orange peal is equal to an entry level Ford Product. Anyway, for this correction the number one concern were swirls thus the customer was looking for a strong correction. Budgets always come into play but since the customer was willing and appreciate coatings over not just the paint and wheels but all the glass work (a lot of it on Tesla) I would add in the extra couple hours to achieve the full correction. In summary the services here were Premium Enhancement Polish (plus some extra to achieve a higher correction), Dual Layer Ceramic on the Paint and Wheels, Glass Coating, and the rear valance trim, I coated with it's specific coating at no-charge. We got to about 95%+ nearly 100% outside some areas on the rear deck lid and bumper which weren't worth compromising the clear coat to remove. Again, there's no such thing as "removing" scratches, only leveling them out which removes precious clear coat so it is important to measure the paint and know when to say stop as to ensure the existing clear can protect for years and years to come. Mission accomplished. Thank you again to David for his trust in my work and the referral and to the owner for his as well. Here's his lining up next to an identical car at the office come Monday. The difference will be interesting to see Now onto the pics! 2018 Tesla Model 3 Dual Motor with Advanced Auto Pilot BEFORE: As you can see, Automatic Car Washes are not kind to painted surfaces AFTER: While not Killer in style it is amazing that this sedate little sedan can run low to mid 12's and move-out like the beast she is. Yeah, I know....some curb damage but hey, that's life with a daily right? Full sun shots of black are a true test of how the work put in turned out. There's no hiding much on pure black. I'm proud to say this beauty shines even in pure sun with little to no imperfections showing. Ah....shade. I love the candy glow that a nice polish and ceramic provides. DEEP Black and SUPER high GLOSS.
