Motors done. The car is at the chassis shop having the cage extended into the engine compartment to stiffen up the front end. Added a switch panel for fuel pump,fan, and water pump. Rewired MSD and added wiring for transbrake.Transmission is ordered and should be here around March 1st. Ordering tubular K-frame this week with drag racing torsion bars. I will add the skinny tires when I start to reassemble it.Go racing in April. Did I mention I am broke!!!!!!!!!

My son was born on Jan 25 1978 and I did not see him again until Jan 29th because the snow. We never lost power but the roads were closed in Muskingum County for 3-4 days. My ex ended up helping the nurses in the maternity ward because they were so short staffed. I remember snow from drifts still on the ground into late May early June.

The car was 3650 lbs with me last year. I am putting it on a diet this year so I hope to loose about 150 lbs. I am also replacing the trans with a full race unit with a transbrake so I can get it to launch. I could not get out of the low 1.50 60' time last year.

We bumped the compression up 3 points and advanced the cam a little. It averaged 772 hp from 5500 to 7800 rpm 614 ft/lb of tq. Peak HP wat 814 a little lower than expected because of carb issues. Peak tq was 665 ft/lb

The 70 AAR Cuda's are very valuable now. Mine is a 73 and now they are becoming hard to buy and expensive. Plum Crazy was a bad ass color and one I considered but in the end I went with B5 blue.

60 ft has been the big problem. I am looking at a new full race 727 with a transbrake that should help solve it.

Push rod broke and jammed roller lifter in bore then link broke and 2nd lifter bent that push rod and damaged rocker.. It had no cam damage or bearing problems. We are adding new intake valves replacing the two lifters that broke and the rocker. Trend push rods. .020 off the deck and .070 off the heads to raise the compression to 13.1 and retune it. The engine builder estimates 825+ HP when down.

Past that stage with this motor. Next time it needs pistions then I look at turbo.

Congats to Tina and Anthony it was a cool wedding. Trackday was one of the best at NTR. Good weather good friends and fast cars I don't think there is much better in life than that. My brothers AMX set his PB 9.97 then the radiator puked. I am stuck in the 10.20's with a 1.50's 60' still searching for the answer.

It seem's that Tony was just a little over the top and I am pretty sure if the choice was his to make Cruz would have made the countdown. John Force has been a big promoter of NHRA and Ford as well as the rest of his sponsors. It just seemed a little out character for NHRA drivers and owners to be so vocal. Pressure has to be immense on Tony from his sponsors to be in the chase from a financial standpoint. I just thought the whole incident was very interesting from a fans point of view.

Interesting US Nationals in funny car. Does he cheat or just making sure his sponsors are happy ?
