i love my GTO. the only thing i have done to it, is a tune/catback/intake and shifter--basically near stock. the car has just a bit of a rumble to it, but is nowhere near annoying at freeway cruising speed. at 80mph, i see 2k rpms, and 22-25mpg--smooth sailing. the car is fairly quick, and the interior comfort/quality is very "un-GM like". the ride is firm, but not harsh at all. you can find '06's for under $20k i'm sure. if i were looking for a newer car to just drive as a daily, i'd stay away from anything older than 2004, as well as anything that's more than slightly modded. everyone here knows that the more you mod a car, the less 'daily driver' friendly it becomes, and it sounds like you're looking for a fun daily driver, but not something you will have to worry about reliability in. my GTO is a perfect daily driver as it sits right now. add a cam and longtubes, and i think you ruin things as far as CAREFREE daily driving and FACTORY RELIABILITY--which is what you need when you have a real job.

i have the tremec that's just below the TKO (i think its the 3650), and it shifts like shit--i can't fucking stand it, and will be yanking it eventually (for a 6 speed). the thing seeped tranny fluid from the day i bought it from D&D performance.

do a 6 speed. you'll regret it, going from 6speeds to a t5.

if you go through OSU, go to grant jones--he deals with shoulders, and shoulders only. other good physicians through mt carmel are ken westerheide and richard fischer---all of these guys do ALL shoulder, and deal with young athletes

tough to find a stock terminator cobra anymore. there are several of us on this site, and i believe every one has at least a pulley/catback/intake and 440rwhp.

its been done. somewhere they took a nissan sentra 1.6 liter, with no engine mods, literally took everything out of the car (doors and everything), and ran 13's i believe. i'll try to find the article.

i have an innovative LC1, hooked up to dual aeroforce guages that plug into the OBD port. i can display 4 functions with the 2 guages, and they have a built-in shift light.

240hp motor from an s2000 make more than yours??? congrats, you probably beat a '98 GT--break out some champaigne--they were overrated at 215hp, and were completely slow, down low, in the midrange, and had zero top-end. a stock '98 GT will get beat by a new v6 stang.
