  1. cliffs--i'm not going to watch some dork talk for 20 minutes
  2. guys, my co-worker is looking at a 2005 CTS-V at carmax right now as we speak. its got 40k miles on it, and is a manual. i'm assuming its got the 400hp ls6 in it?? they're asking $26k. how much do you think he can talk them down?? aren't these the ones with the 'glass jaw' rear end?? anything else he should look for?? fuck, now i definately have to tune my GTO. thanks kirk
  3. i've heard of them before. i think they show up here every once in a while
  4. oh god, you found it on here. whatever happened to turboing an '05 GT and dragging '03/04 cobras around???
  5. for everyone's knowledge, the cut means absolutely NOTHING in this case. the only thing i would focus on, in treating this injury, is the fact that he was bit by a dog. i wouldn't even stitch the wound up, unless it was really gaping open. i'm guessing they gave thorne some augmentin (antibiotic).
  6. you have the right to call yourself a moron. should have had the surgery to repair the nerve you cut. dipshit
  7. sorry then. they have newer port designs for the heaton that can take it into the 530rwhp range at around 17psi--but that is the absolute maximum without nitrous. hal will tell you how much you can spin a KB blower--i believe he was pushing 29psi with a 2.2 KB, which is fairly ballsy if you ask me. i've had good luck with buying parts, even used parts--but used electronics make me nervous, if i don't know the seller pretty well. i bought my heat exchanger from LFP
  8. not sure how to take your post, but i pretty much know exactly how the twinscrew works, and why it is more efficient (TOTALLY different rotor design). i did some extensive research, waited, researched, and then bought the blower and did all of the work myself (except the tuning) i wouldn't buy used injectors for an '03/04 cobra, nor a used BAP, or MAFia, but that's me. don't skimp on anything would be my advice.
  9. my grand prix had two fuel pumps go out and it did the same thing.
  10. i was happy with the ported blower, but in the end (after a while) i wanted more power, and didn't want nitrous or a lower pulley. i ended up going with a whipple. even with a mild, mild tune, the whipple will make more power, and have more potential than the ported blower--but its SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive--- blower--$3k injectors/pumps/mass air--$800 subframes, springs, rear end brace, drag radials--$850 those are the minimal supporting mods for the twinscrew (that are on my car). i'll assume you have a catback and cold air intake. optional are a throttle body, new clutch, with 26 spline input shaft, and a solid rear--i would avoid level 5 halfshafts but that's just me. you can see it adds up, but in the end, the car can have a glass-smooth idle, and full driveability.
  11. +1000 every time i do something to my car, i'm paranoid that something will break, or that it will hurt the reliability of the car, or make it not as fun to drive. i say leave the car as it is, drive it, enjoy it, and wait to go forged/forced induction.
  12. i don't know that they know each other, and i'm a potential customer. to me, it looks like a competing vendor coming into a thread and telling someone not to take their car to the original poster's shop/dealership. like i said, i realize that it is difficult to be a vendor---when someone slams your shop, you have to stick up for yourself, but at the same time be diplomatic, so as not to chase off future business. you have to try to keep "a clean nose" and stay out of shit-talking threads that don't directly involve you--no matter how much you want to mix it up. you can have thousands of satisfied customers (who may, or may not sing your praise over the internet), but it takes just one to make a nasty thread, that spreads like wildfire all over the internet to literally fuck your business up. i've heard great things about EVERY vendor on this site (including you), so i'm not worried about not being satisfied with ANY work done on my car. at the same time, i can't have everyone work on my car--i have to pick someone-- i just hope i'll be able to find great shops when i move this spring/summer
  13. that's pretty much the best way to get negative "rep" points here.
  14. well then send him a pm, instead of "shitting where you eat" (losing potential customers). don't take it the wrong way, i'm not trying to be a dick at all here. being a vendor on a web site can be a tough tight rope to walk, so i'm not trying to be too critical.
  15. just signed up for the track day, looks like i'm going
  16. signed up and payed, assuming i'll be able to get work off.
  17. Tint man Tint! i know, i would go with something mild. not a huge fan of limo tint.

  19. leave it open, or else it could get infected. dog bites usually do not, but cat bites almost always get infected
  20. i would love to see 11's, but we'll see if i can even make it that day. if i can't get low 12's, then i quit. i haven't been to the track in 7 years (please make note of early excuse/cop-out response). low/mid 11's should be the norm with a good driver and my set-up, but you know how it goes when the driver (me) is average at best. just haven't beat on the car enough to get good at launching, and i'd rather not break anything. if i can get the day off, i will make it.
