  1. generally, when someone does something unsafe in their car around one of my cars (like pass me in a parking lot), i try to completely ignore them. i will even stop my car and park it, so there's no chance for this to happen again. you just can't trust some people--they will run you off the road, either on purpose, or on accident
  2. i'll see if i can get one today or tomorrow--bonus if i can get potential buyers to 'pose' with it.
  3. there is a purple civic for sale at this "engine rebuilding" place on walcutt road in hilliard--johnson motors, or something of that nature. its the factory purple-ish blue paint, and the car came from the factory with the 'VTAC' badging. anyways, this car is lowered and riced out a bit. i just think its funny because for the past week, EVERY time i have driven past this place (at least 7-10 times) there is either a 16 year old punk-looking kid, or a group of 5 illegals looking at this car. i agree, it should not be that funny--

    FS 1989 Coupe

    pics please possible interest here
  5. more info on the kyb shocks please---do they bolt in, in place of the quad shocks? do they bolt into the stock shocks location, and allow you to pitch the quad shocks?? let me know, and i'll most likely take them kirk
  6. +1000 jealous cowards come from all over the place to give their $.02, as soon as someone (young) states they're buying a car. which $30k is pretty much the norm for MOST cars today
  7. the money i owe on my cars is peanuts compared to what i have invested, in savings, in college funds, and in home equity, so i'm not too concerned about the small stuff. "my life is not becoming theirs" as you say. i'm guessing you'd suggest i pay cash for my medical school loans---all $140k of them?? i realize you'll argue about the diminishing worth of a car, and how bad of an investment it is. but i smile ear-to-ear every time i get in my cobra--you can't put a price tag on happiness and sanity. and as far as the vaccination deal goes, people will get their vaccinations, oh yes they will. its worth the risk in my (well educated, and vastly informed) mind.
  8. i assumed nobody wanted them. i have one left--the other went with my brother, to the dumpster by his apartment complex. the one is still available, pm me if you want it
  9. +1000 sorry about your dog, but the reason it was acting funny because it was in a "post-ictal" state---google it. humans, and animals alike get this way after a seizure--a totally confused, and disoriented state that can last up to several hours. i could never shoot one of my dogs, but that's just me. again, sorry
  10. no, you're just a slave to your heightened level of paranoia when it comes to things people don't even have to think twice about--ie. car loans and immunizations to name a few. take a prozac, and live a little already. didn't you have a supra once?? let me guess, you sold it because you got a sweet deal on a suburban, or whatever you drive?? my advice to the original poster is to enjoy yourself, within reason. if you want a $30k car and can afford it, then do it, and you'll never turn back.
  11. let me guess, you paid cash for your house??
  12. i'm happy with both my GTO and my '04 cobra, and would likely be thrilled with a vette as well. whatever you do, i would stay away from an older car-- and obviously, the more you do to a car, the less fun it will be as a daily driver. my GTO has an intake and catback and is amazingly comfortable to drive ANY distance, or any amount of time. when i bought it, i immediately drove it 500 miles from wisconsin to ohio, and felt like i was on a leather sofa the whole time--and like mentioned, at 70mph, 25mpg is achievable. i would say pick amongst these cars and you won't go wrong: '03/04 cobra, c5zo6, ls2GTO, G8, newer sti or evo, and a low mileage, near stock fbody (if one still exists). these are all easily had for less than $30k (except the G8, and maybe the vette). stay away from anything pre-2000, avoid beat-on fbodies, and fox body stangs, as well as '05+ stangs. a G8 would be great if you could find one under $30k---great power, full factory warranty, and a NEW car.
  13. like i said, on the street, it happens so fast that you're not expecting it at all. and if for some reason you had not heard of this problem, you'd be that much more surprised. i'm sure it could happen on other mustangs, but the recall was SPECIFIC to '03/04's---every owner got a letter in the mail pretty much demanding they take it in for the recall--which was to trim the carpet around that area, and bolt a bracket to the gas pedal so the protruding bolt could not go through the carpet (that used to be under it).
  14. pulley that beast, and it will be like driving a completely different car
  15. overnight parts from japan?? sorry had to. good luck
  16. yeah that sucks. if that is truly what happened, then i feel for the guy. my pedal got stuck, and i was able to throw the car in neutral and shut it down after a few seconds of rev-limiter action. it happens so fast, trust me. the only thing is that you really have to be standing on it to get it stuck--i was rolling away from a light, when i jumped on it in first (in the lane next to me was a certain blown LSx RX-7), i shifted into second and realized what was going on. he had to be like WTF, as i killed it and pulled over. i literally had to get under the dash and pull the pedal up. my car had a catback and intake, and i was getting smoked by the way EDIT: for those that don't know, this is a well-known recall on ALL '03/04 cobras. the pedal gets button-holed through the carpet and gets completely stuck at WOT--you must turn the car off, the pedal will not come up from the floor, unless you reach down and grab it--you can't get your foot under it to pull it back up. it happened to me on the road, and at least one other local cobra owner on the dyno. talk about a potential for disaster--thanks ford
  17. did he know the cop or something??? i still can't believe we're hearing the whole story, or the cop is that dumb

    88 mustang.

sorry to see it go man
  19. i've been lucky to have only had great experiences so far
  20. it ended up being one of the relay fuses. i'm pretty sure the reason it was dim, and not completely out, was that it was getting some "retrograde current" from the other side. thanks guys
  21. they're as clean as can be. i've only sat in them a few times over the past 3 years--i never watch tv in my basement
  22. here they are gentlemen bid away, or they are free http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/3987/s3500012ri9.jpg http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/7896/s3500014yj4.jpg
  23. what's great about this town, is that no one is saying "avoid this shop". i've had work done at dynotune, as well as by rob, and have been thoroughly happy with BOTH of them---you can't go wrong either way.
