  1. so maximum of about $120k take home. divide that by 3 = $40k per guy. risk of getting caught-----several years behind bars with no income, having to pay money back, permanent record, never to be employed with a decent job for the rest of your adult life==not worth it.
  2. it should. i ordered the 680rwhp power pack. should make at least that much torque. a few of these cars have dynoed 630 rwtq bone stock. they are torque monsters. the car already is at 15psi stock, i didn't want to get a pulley right away. honestly, for what i'll use the car for, i don't think a pulley will be necessary
  3. sorry, i wasn't really paying attention, just passing through. my garage does not let cars in with less than 500 hp stock. good luck on your sale
  4. i don't even want to think of what my disability insurance would be if i drag raced, sky dived, had a DUI, bull riding, etc etc. aside from all the drug tests, labs, physicals, etc---they ask you about every possible risky activity known to man (bull riding--lol). they ask you the same questions for life insurance, but my disability insurance is 4 times the cost of the life policy. if a car is fast enough to need a chute, i don't want any part of it---period. at least at this point in my life/family/career, it would be terribly irresponsible on my part.
  5. cobrajet=factory race car. does not come with a VIN#, cannot be driven on the road, difficult to get insurance on, only to be used at the strip, or for 'off-road' usage (if you have a REALLY long driveway--lol) ---standard comes with a forged 5.4 liter motor with all forged internals and a 2.3 liter TVS blower on it ---at least two automatic transmissions are available and possibly a 6 speed if i recall ---caged, minimal interior, big/little setup ---optional 4liter twinscrew blower i'd love to have one of these, if only you could drive it on the road. i've seriously contemplated getting one. this might be what pushes me over the edge. then, i'd just have to get into drag racing
  6. by no means do i claim to be anything more than an average driver, but the h/c/i/exhaust c6z is just that fast. the car has 345 rear tires and spins for just a second in 2nd gear at 60mph before taking off like a rocket. the throttle response is immediate, crisp, and at 3200lbs the car feels so light. now that i have the clutch issues hopefully solved in my 1300mile gt500, i can finally beat the piss out of it. the car flat out scares me---feels unsafe to drive with how cold it is in wisconsin, and the 285 rear tires. the torque is immediate, and the car is very hard to drive from a stop without spinning the tires. it sounds stupid, but i've almost spun the car out several times when cold, simply trying to let the clutch out easy around a turn from a stop. the car seriously drives like the road is icy or wet, when the tires are cold. if i have any plans on driving it hard, i will literally do a quick 1st gear burnout to heat the tires. the car was clearly under-geared by ford (very stupid). 2nd gear goes to 95mph if you wind it out---wtf?? the car needs at least 3.55's or 3.73's, instead of the factory 3.31 's. at 75mph in 6th gear the car sees 1500rpms. over the winter i plan on adding a shifter, cooler plugs, intake, cobra jet throttle body, catless midpipe, and a tune. should be good for just shy of 700rwhp. definitely need bigger meat in the rear tires
  7. you selling the rs4 to pick up an s4??:lolguy:
  8. i live about a half hour south of green bay on lake michigan. housing prices are fairly comparable to the outskirts of columbus. land is pretty cheap if you're talking the outskirts of our town and just plain flat land. some of the 1/2 acre lots in the popular/upscale neighborhoods are $30k for the lot. some lots on the lake could be $250k for 4-5 acres with bluff frontage. the problem with buying/building a 4000+ sq/ft $500k house is that you'll struggle to sell it if you have to move. our town is a town of 35k people and is mostly blue collar---the houses that sell quickly are all under $200k. i live in an 8 house neighborhood, with 3 houses for sale currently at $599k, $725k, and $998k. they are all being way too optimistic.
  9. not everyone wants to take the risks associated with driving a 2000hp car---so they have someone else do it and take 75% of the credit when the car wins. gay?? maybe. i have the means to have cars like they have----yet have zero desire to drive or ride in either car. same reason some people will never get on a bike.
  10. Same reason guys own race horses and have a jockey race the horse.
  11. Any bone they're referring to as broken is likely a piece of bone attached to one of his ruptured ligaments. A knee dislocation usually tears at least three ligaments in the knee--the acl, pcl, and usually at least one more. Usually a small fleck of the tibia is pulled off when the acl is torn (segond fracture), and a piece of the femur might be pulled off by the mcl. Either way, he's fucked.
  12. bad injury. he should be worried about keeping his leg before he worries about playing football.
  13. i'm being a little dramatic. i actually love my buddy's s5 to death. literally the best sounding v8 i've ever experienced in person. my 662hp cobra sounds awesome until you realize just how worthless that power is in the cold here
  14. lol. I literally have rocked the buzz cut for over 10 years---pathetic, i know. got suckered into buying cologne for the first time while in chicago this weekend. guy at saks said "this fragrance has been out for less than a week". i said "really?? i'm interested in a fragrance that tells people i might just randomly assault them". maybe i'm not audi material.:lolguy: if not for the carbon issue, i'd rock that car in a heartbeat. my buddy's wife is expecting and he needs 4 doors--he ordered the v8 s6 turbo one month ago, and will likely get raped by the dealer when he unloads this thing. my wife says no more cars, i say "orly?" he's driven his s5 through 2 wisconsin winters and a cincy winter with absolutely zero issues. his wife even tried to kill us last year (to no avail) on the way back from dinner with 4+ inches of fresh snow on the road. :lolguy:
  15. i'm almost tempted to buy my buddy's v8 s5 for a winter beater, when he gets his s6 this winter. billy boat catback, and this is the best sounding v8 i've ever heard.

  17. Pro-tip::Know when to say when, in regards to modding a car. My hot-ass 115lb wife can still drive this car to starbucks for my daily grande latte enema. On a side note, I banged my wife on the 16th floor of the hyatt last night with the drapes open for all of chicago to see---ftmfw.
  18. +1 likely non-built motor (timebomb) likely shitty 5 speed (notorious for weakness) 15+ year old car (lol at getting a loan for this car) who the fuck would pay that when they could get a twinscrew cobra for close to that. :dumb:
  19. didn't realize 580rwhp h/c/i/full exhaust c6z's were slow?? am i missing something?? maybe i need to add a veilside body kit or some stickers??
  20. did a second gear pull (easy) to 5k rpms getting on the freeway, and the car revved to the moon---didn't go anywhere. no clutch smell, no warning, hadn't really even gotten on the car. the clutch is a twin disc--the pressure plate was scuffed, and one of the discs was worn down to the rivets. my guess is a bad batch of clutches, as several others have blown their clutch up stock. the second clutch seems healthier----made a newer m3 look dumb on the freeway today, and wasn't even in the sweet spot of 3rd gear---70--100mph, it was ugly (for him).
  21. Bump. Exploded the clutch with 171 miles on it under normal driving conditions and my 3 kids in the car--wtf?? Had the clutch replaced under warranty and now have over1k miles on it. This thing pulls so hard I can't even imagine adding another 100rwhp to it this spring. Definitely need bigger rubber in the back. Very cool car so far aside from the clutch issue. Drove it 3 hours this weekend to Chicago with my wife for our anniv, and it got incredible gas mileage, not that I give a shit. Ford definitely under-geared this car for the 200mph number. 2nd gear winds out to over 95 mph
  22. plenty of people who are in the same boat as you. the good news is, there is tons of support out there for you. what you described in the first post is without a doubt, signs of alcoholism. like i said, you need to find a healthy hobby---go out and run for 30 minutes, get a stationary bike, or a heavy bag at home---or shadow box in front of a mirror at full efforty for 60-90 seconds. sounds stupid, and gay as hell, but it works wonders. try reading before you go to bed. and absolutely, positively, get yourself to an AA meeting---massive support system with people going through the identical problem good luck
  23. people with a true drinking problem are incapable of drinking in moderation----period. congrats op, you've made the right decision. now you need to get a (healthy) hobby to blow off steam. running, bike riding, working out, boxing, etc. also, get in to see a counselor---trust me, they can help.
  24. I love dr turner to death, but don't let him fix your acl--ill leave it at that. Ty fowler is a good buddy of mine and as stated he's a trauma surgeon---good for taking care of seriously fucked up fractures, but not sports injuries. $1k deductible is nothing. Most people around me have $5k+ deductibles. It sucks for everyone
  25. Not worth $17k without a built motor and built 6speed, and a whole bunch of other shit. $12k max.
