most likely. it is in the newer porsches. seems odd to have 7 forward gears.
  2. congrats. i'd love a boss or the '13 gt-500. i'm going to wait and see what happens when they come out. i need to get back into a new ford product at some point
  3. i'm pretty happy with my cts-v. bone stock, auto, and the ability to smoke most cars on the road with my 3 kids in the back laughing is priceless. decent sized trunk, magnetic ride, and the option to easily hit 600rwhp through the auto if i want. the 'lol factor' is the wife tearing into the car, and hearing from people that she likes to drive it hard. i vote to trade the car either way--for the 5.0 or the cts-v. either one will be easily modded beyond 500rwhp and still be reliable. i love my cobra---it should run 10's all day long when/if i can find the time to get it to the track. i've got well over $15k in mods in the car. going from the vette or the caddy to the cobra--and it feels like i'm driving a tractor. seriously. unless i'm going to race it, its just not 'fun' to drive. in the past, your options of 400-500 hp cars were limited. these days, every camry out there has 300hp. go out and drive the new 5.0, and a cts-v.

My wife threatens me on a daily basis to take my vette out in the snow
  5. Rip. I'm sure they will withdraw care soon, if they haven't already. Terrible way to go

    Really

You should check out the motor trend where they picked the "best driver's car". The authors couldn't stop raving about the boss's live axle. It placed 5th out of 11--ahead of the z-06, r8, lfa, etc etc. Ford has absolutely mastered the live axle setup. The authors simply couldn't believe that the car had a solid rear. I've thought about getting another pony car next year, and the zl1 is not on my list
  7. Good video though. Love the daytime footage
  8. Sorry. Didn't realize honda and toyota were different companies.
  9. meh, i'll just take a stock one
  10. big... yawning...... vagina. ---tyler durden fight club i'll pass. no toyota is worth $100+k
  11. welcome to the site. truck sounds like a monster. you'll half to bring it out this summer
  12. welcome to the party. hardest part will be holding off on driving until the roads are good. corvetteforum.com is your friend. tons of information, vendor specials, etc. i got a sweet deal on some upgrades for my '09 coming this spring on that site http://i690.photobucket.com/albums/vv265/kirks5oh/DSC00601.jpg
  13. Grand sport=awesome Z-06=more awesome So are you just awesome, or are you more awesome? The only thing I'd trade my z in for would be a zr1. You should probably drive both cars if you're serious. My car was given to me as a gift so I had no choice--but I sure as hell would not have chosen the gs over the z
  14. I'd join a supra forum and do a lot of research before I spent $25k on a 16+ year old car notorious for being modded, abused, etc Why not buy a c6 vette and add a procharger at low boost? An endless supply of aftermarket support, and likely cheaper to mod than a supra. Once you get into the 800rwhp range, you drastically reduce reliability, the 'just fun to cruise' factor, and the weight of your wallet.
  15. Nitto drag radials ended any wheelhop I had. I loved my gto--owned it for 5 years and 20k miles. Never had any issues. I saw 27mpg occasionally on the freeway with the manual. I had a catback, intake, and tune--375rwhp.
  16. i've had the same thing happen to me. obviously, everyone in my family asks for medical advice/etc, which i always give with absolutely no expectation of anything in return. in addition, my parents and in-laws have arthritis---everytime my parents come to visit i give my dad injections into his knees. he is thankful, and offers to buy dinner one of the nights he's visiting. my father-in-law, gets the same injections, never really thanks me, and never offers to buy dinner. that's right, when they visit, i pay every time we go out to eat. also gave my brother in law an elbow injection (did one last x-mas as well), and he didn't even so much as thank me. beyond irritating.
  17. i researched shipping, and have shipped several times. i used horseless carriage---kind of expensive, but you get an enclosed shipment, white-glove treatment, and get to look at exotic cars that are in the truck when they come to pick yours up. there was a ferrari, aston, and 911 in the truck when they came to pick up my GTO and cobra in florida. i think it was $1,000 per car to ship from florida to wisconsin. my options were limited since i live in the middle of no where, wisconsin. intercity lines would have been my other choice. but they would not go where i needed to go in wisc. otherwise, i've shipped my 'lesser cars', via a brokerage company called agape auto. i've used them 3 times, and had no complaints. the car goes on an open trailer that can be anything from a 'deaership style' 10 car carrier, to a random dude using an f-350 and a 5th wheel trailer. obviously, your car will get exposed to the road, and the elements, but they're much cheaper. probably around $500 to ship from florida to wisconsin.
  18. i watched the whole game. it sucked. if given the choice over again, i'd rather watch an episode of kourtney and kim take new york. kicking myself for not going out to the garage to work on my '85 GT. LSU looked completely aweful. i don't think the two best teams played last night
  19. We have adt. Sensors on all doors, sensors on all first floor windows, and basement windows, motion sensors in basement, and first floor that are activated when we leave on vacation. Also, sensors in case the windows break. We also have the smoke detectors wired in to the system. Our control panel vocally states which door in the house opens, and all of the doors have chimes so we know if our kids open any door during the day when the system is off. My detached garage has a separate panel and all the same sensors. No idea how much it costs but it's worth it
  20. hoping to get my cobra to run 10's. just looking to get to the track itself, would be an improvement over the last few years
  21. Do it. In '07 I was looking for a GTO. They had several at haydocy, but refused to let me test drive one because the car "has the corvette motor in it". They had several with 30+k miles on them and wouldn't budge about the test drive. A few months later I brought my 11k mile GTO in for some minor bullshit warranty item--but mainly to let the sales manager know about the deal I got. Best part--i insisted on watching the tech pull the car into and out of the service bay--my reason? This car has the vette motor, and not just anyone can drive it. Lol
  22. Shit, ill be 35 in a few months too. Wondering what I'm doing wrong in life that I can't afford an exotic car like a 12 year old bmw :dumb: He's gonna need thicker skin to make it here.
