  1. didn't hurt me one damn bit. there was a thread a while back on ear tubes where dr. (p)rick tried to convince people ear tubes were horrible.
  2. hard to predict how kids will respond to anesthesia. plan for a rough day or two, and then be amazed when two hours later its like nothing ever happened. every kid comes out of it different.
  3. my boy had it done. also had tonsils, adenoids, and a sinus procedure. its completely safe. don't worry about any stories you hear. most of the time, they simply fall out in time. my boy wasn't quite two when he had it done
  4. lol at ferrigno. i miss the days when i lived in columbus, and the town was overrun by crazy looking meathead idiots for the weekend.
  5. Great video. Those rx7's are timeless. Hard to believe its almost a 20 year old car
  6. True test of a police car's worth imo comes down to brakes, cooling system, and suspension. Cop cars don't have to be crazy-fast. They might, however, see 100+mph for a sustained amount of time, or get multiple episodes of hard braking with hard acceleration. Let's not forget about off-roading and jumping curbs. Cops are very hard on these cars. When I worked for the city in college, they would maintain and fix the police cruisers. I lived in a town woth no crime and they still managed to abuse the fuck out of those cars
  7. If you require govt money (that comes from taxpayers) to sustain yourself, then you have no business having a child (at that time). Pretty simple concept. No huge billion dollar department necessary. Depo provera is pretty cheap, has very few side effects, and can be administered by any medical technician. Simple concept---you want govt aid? You get the shot every three months so that you're not bringing an extra mouth into the world for hard working taxpayers to feed. Sure, people have the right to do what they want with their body. Then the govt has the right to say "no free handout for you". Yeah, I'm bitter when I look at my w2 and see how much charity I've donated to this fucked up system, take no deductions, and still owe $20k more at the end of the year.
  8. Bullfuckingshit. The amount of money I spend to care for my kids---far offsets any 'bone' the govt throws my way. When you raise a child properly, you stimulate the economy. Think about it. I have 3 kids uner age 5. Our grocery bill alone is $200 per week and we still eat out a ton. Clothing, toys, entertainment, childcare, healthcare, etc etc. This all adds up. Back in the '90's they calculated that it costs $225k to raise a child from 0-18 years. I would argue that number has increased significantly in 20 years Success breeds success. Shit breeds shit. Through modern medicine (and with the help of the govt) we've reversed darwinism. People who are the most fit to reproduce have fewer kids. Dumbass fucking idiots who leach off the system have more kids. If you prevent the fuctards from having 6 kids, eventually those who are more fit will outnumber the leaches and this country can move forward and progress
  9. as sad as it is to say this, i totally agree. this would be difficult to enforce, but imagine a system where in order to receive ANY type of government assistance, you're required every 3 months to get the depo-provera shot. its incredibly effective form of birth control, that is not dependent on patient compliance--which is the biggest issue with giving out free birth control--idiots will forget to take it. if you're receiving help from the government, you have ABSOLUTELY NO BUSINESS bringing another human being into the world, at that time. sure, if you get off assistance, and improve your situation, you're more than welcome to reproduce. just a thought
  10. couldn't figure out why there was a subaru at the car show that was 'blocked off', so you couldn't get close to it seriously? :dumb:
  11. you made the right choice. prolotherapy will never work for a meniscus tear--it simply won't.. the outer rim of the meniscus has no blood flow to it--there's no way it will heal when torn.
  12. very cool move, for sure. neenah is about 25-30 minutes from me. too bad there are no good car forums in wisconsin. i just went to the milwaukee car show. pretty crazy, the nearest car show to me is 75 minutes away. pretty decent selection of cars but nothing really exotic---you couldn't get anywhere near any of the porsches, etc., and they didn't even have a GTR. they did have a zl1 and a 2013 GT500, but you couldn't sit in either of them. not much from audi was there--an r8, s4, and then a smattering of standard models. cars i wanted a 'closer' look at: 911 turbo--not there, couldn't get close enough to spit on it, even if it was there cayenne turbo--not there panamera turbo--there, couldn't get near it, or in it--$170k--lol--no room for 5 x5m--not there GTR--not there m5--couldn't open it or sit in it---looked cool GT500--couldn't open it--looked badass, talked with a stealership that is taking orders this summer boss 302--couldn't open it, but it looked badass ttrs--not there GCSRT8--looked cool, you could sit in it. good looking truck-- cts-v---coupe/sedan/wagon all right next to each other--all in metallic black--damn, i should have gotten that color zl1--meh, i can never convince myself to like this car

    Fuck you all

    "Basic retard strength". I lol'd.
  14. rofl at the dude pissing in the background
  15. +1 if he turns 5 in a month, he should definitely go to kindergarten the next school year. exceptions to this would be any deficits in cognitive development--not physical development. my twin girls turn 5 in mid-september. they will be doing preschool this coming year, and then kindergarten the next year. in wisconsin, they use september 1st as the cut-off for kindergarten. if we wanted to put the girls in kindergarten this year they would have to get tested. we're in no huge hurry to put them in on the younger side of things.
  16. damn, some things are 'out of bounds', imo. this thread is one of them. on a national forum, its one thing. this is a smaller, tighter-knit community where some people vent personal information and issues that shouldn't be made light of. especially when there's a very real chance you might actually come face-to-face with someone that you make these comments too.
  17. Spending over $100k in mods on a $90k car, where you're completely replacing the motor, the transmission, the drivetrain, the fuel system, etc is "making", not "modding". We're splitting hairs. No one is discounting how awesome this car is. Twin turbo ford gt's are made in the u.s., btw.
  18. dude, the AMS alpha 12 GTR is made in america. am i wrong? http://www.amsperformance.com/ website says they're located in chicago. maybe the alpha 13 GTR will be able to beat the alpha 12? i go back and forth which car to get next. rwd is only getting me so far, especially living in wisconsin. these AWD cars certainly have appeal.
  19. welcome to the madness. throw up a picture.
  20. landice, if you can stomach the cost. lifetime warranty on the motor/belt.
  21. Congrats. Love it. My buddy is seriously thinking of pulling the trigger on one of these
  22. Great intro. Save some time and money in the long run, and rebuild the bottom end while doing the cam swap, and head work. No sense throwing a big cam and heads onto a 170k shortblock. Welcome to the site. I fondly remember being 20 with my first 5.0, modding it, breaking it, modding it, breaking it.....
  23. yeah, i could realistically spend several thousand there.
