  1. Yea, other than those three extremely dangerous/idiotic behaviors, they were just cruising.
  2. Taking a half day at work tomorrow and got tickets to the wild card game. Think the Indians can get past the Rays, not sure about the Red Sox but you never know. They have so much momentum right now.
  3. There was once a time where no one thought a $35,000 Kia mid-class sedan would sell. Guess things can change...
  4. I have a Speed3 and even I'm voting to keep the VW. Not to say the Speed3 isn't a great car for the money, but you've got a lot more car right now and would be downgrading to go to the Mazda. If your VW is paid off already, then save whatever you would be paying per month on the Mazda for a maintenance fund. People tend to get scared as soon as the warranty expires on a car, but honestly the chances of catastrophic failure to the point where you can't afford to fix something are pretty minor as long as you properly maintain the vehicle.
  5. Never understood why Columbus is so strict about equipment tickets like that. I just got pulled over last weekend here in Willoughby for speeding, and the cop didn't say one word about my lack of a front plate. Yet when my car was parked in Columbus I got a ticket for it.
  6. Insurance doesn't care why they hit you. If you are stopped and someone hits you from behind, they are liable whether they were on their phone, having mechanical issues or just not paying attention. Pulling phone records would be a waste of time when fault is clear.
  7. Yea there's a decent abandoned lot at 120 Marconi Blvd. Not sure if it's what you're looking for.
  8. They turned a bar in the Coventry Rd. area of Cleveland Heights into something just like this. I've only been once but it was packed full on a Friday night. They also had a big projector playing Big Lebowski when I was there. Hopefully the one in Columbus will be just as cool
  9. Went to see the Sunday races, first time ever going out there. It's less "actual" racing compared to something like the Mid-Ohio vintage races, but it is set around Schenley Park which makes for a nice venue. My dad is hoping to have his 68 Mini ready by this time next year since Mini is the featured marque for 2014. (Excuse the photo quality, they were taken with my phone). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v301/miataman91/20130721_105505.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v301/miataman91/20130721_105313.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v301/miataman91/20130721_105258.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v301/miataman91/20130721_105234.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v301/miataman91/20130721_104906.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v301/miataman91/20130721_104842.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v301/miataman91/20130721_104755.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v301/miataman91/20130721_104411.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v301/miataman91/20130721_103612.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v301/miataman91/20130721_103454.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v301/miataman91/2013-07-21123359.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v301/miataman91/20130721_122530.jpg
  10. I'm having problems too. I had it synced on my phone which stopped working, and I can't get it from a normal computer either. Luckily it isn't my primary email but I still have certain things hooked up to it that I use.
  11. Just picked up a 2013 Specialized Secteur Compact today. It's an entry level bike but considering I'm coming from a 1980's Schwinn, it feels like a Ferrari in comparison. Can't wait to get it out this weekend to break it in.
  12. I've gone the same route. Ditched my Escort detector quite a few years ago because the false alarms outweighed the benefits. Haven't had a ticket since then. I personally feel that not having a radar detector forces me to pay more attention to my surroundings as well. Also, glad to hear I'm not the only MS3 that hits triple digits on the daily commute . One benefit of not having to be at the office until 9 each morning is considerably less traffic.
  13. I've had a GS3 since September and absolutely love it. I bought mine outright as well (because I dropped my first one on concrete), but if you're buying outright you should check out http://www.swappa.com . I got a used S3 for Sprint from that site and it was only about $250 and in perfect condition.
  14. Anyone have recommendations on an entry level road bike? Looking to spend no more than $1000 and hopefully a bit less (so very entry level). I used to ride a bit in college and want to get back into it. Was looking at the Trek 1.1, Specialized Secteur Compact or one of the low end Cannondales. Don't want to go spending thousands until I know for sure I'm going to get back into biking long term, but also don't want to cheap out either. Will mostly be used for solo rides, on some of the flatter trails near Lake Erie and probably the towpath and other routes through Cuyahoga Valley.
  15. I blew most of it on a laptop for college, the rest I used as spending money for the summer on top of working.
  16. I'll just continue to not have a front plate as I have since I was 16, and not getting tickets for it. (Save for one ticket where my car was parked, but that was $40 and I can live with that.) If the law passes, great. If it doesn't, it won't change anything for me personally.
  17. Saying CTD is liable here is akin to holding someone liable for your speeding ticket because they installed a turbocharger on your car. CTD didn't push this driver's foot to the ground. He'll be found at fault for the accident and hopefully learn a lesson from it all. Definitely could've been worse.
  18. My mom just picked up a brand new one in the SX trim. Couldn't believe the features that are on this thing. It really does drive nicely and for a true all-around daily it would be high on my list. I've driven it on a few hour long trips now and can't recommend it enough, but if you get one at least go for the SX trim.
  19. If by "that 4/20 thing" you mean going to Record Store Day, then yeah.
  20. Like said previously, get some pictures in here. There are enough people on this forum to tell you if it can be repaired or not. Keep in mind your insurance company will return the vehicle to its pre-accident condition. If that can be done by repairing, by all means that is what they will do. Are you planning on doing this work yourself or having a shop do it?

    really?

I saw this last summer. The signs in front of the spots explain a lot. http://i45.tinypic.com/1fvf5z.jpg
  22. The wikipedia article on this is super interesting. My answer before reading the explanation would've been that it doesn't matter. Makes sense now after understanding the statistics behind it.
  23. Another vote for this, although I'm not sure how you go about getting an individual account. We use this for insurance claims and it is downright scary how much info I can pull up about someone just by their name. I'm actually glad that our company monitors the use of it so closely.
  24. I guess I just want to get into something different. The idea of a mid to large size sedan with a nice interior and a somewhat sporty feel appeals to me. I've also realized that no matter how hard I try, I just don't enjoy driving FWD vehicles. I came from a Miata to the MS3, and as much as I really do enjoy the 3 it just kills me that they don't offer AWD even as an option. I think if I could find a G37S with the 6MT and RWD, it would fit almost every requirement I have in a car.
