Ditto. If your starting car is a Fiero, you probably aren't too worried about the safety factor. This thing looks crazy though. Not something I'd ever drive around by my own choice, but it looks better than 99 percent of the Fiero abomination-kits out there right now.

Just because someone doesn't drag race doesn't make them a non-racer. There are more things in life than just going in a straight line all day. What would be cool is being able to rent out NTR for an Autocross/Drag event. Work out a scoring system that benefits cars from both areas, like some sort of altered PAX system. I'd imagine the insurance would be hard to come by for that though.

Great choice on the Speed, my dad got an 08 model a few months ago. He has been nothing but happy with it so far, but I agree with you about the small clutch grab point. Takes some getting used to.

Great Lakes Brewing has a version of their Dortmunder Gold now called "Imperial Dortmunder". It's a little darker and tastier than the normal stuff, and it's 7.5%. But it's like 10 bucks for a 4 pack too, worth it IMO.

Those absorber things are amazing. For like 10 bucks at Auto Zone you can have a kick ass shammy that will last forever. Thing soaks up water like there's no tomorrow.

There is a time and a place for stuff like that, and car meets are one of the worst places to bring alcohol or drugs too. People that think otherwise need to be removed from this earth...

How much do a set of normal cloth seats cost to get reupholstered? And can they add in some bolster that may have worn off? Just looking for a ballpark figure here to see if this would be cheaper than trying to find a pair of junkyard seats.

Read something in Car and Driver saying that while the price of a barrel of oil has quadrupled over here in a certain time period when valued in dollars, it has only doubled during the same period when valued in euros. Weak dollar is one of the single biggest factors in this whole deal and people jump straight to blaming oil companies without thinking about other reasons. I am starting to see some real changes in consumption though. I know a couple of people (including my father) who have started riding bicycles to work. Obviously this isn't possible for most people, but I see a lot more bikes on the road going to work in the morning than ever before. I've also started planning out where I'm going to go when I drive somewhere, and try to go to multiple places on the same trip. While it's certainly not easy on anyone, it seems like this is what it's going to take to finally get people to start treating oil like the non-renewable resource that it is.

Those wheels would make me think twice about renting one, but then the phrase "drive it like a rental" rears it's ugly head. Keep an eye out for these at local autocrosses, it won't be long.
