  1. Grats to the OSU team! And that motorcycle guy has balls! Some year I'm going to make it to speed week.
  2. Hmmm If I ever had to move back to MA, I was going to "reside" at my friend's place here in OH, so I wouldn't have to pay Excise or do yearly inspections.... Gonna have to be a little more creative. Hopefully I won't have to move back.
  3. They should have given it to Ken Block for the demo. That'd intimidate some people.
  4. I'd rock it. As for the Boxer engine in a RWD platform, it'll offer much better weight distribution and a lower CG. By using a boxer configuration, you can have a 4cyl engine roughly the same length as a 2 cyl. So they can sit the weight over the front axle or even behind it and still have a longitudinal arrangement, short wheelbase and small overhangs. And since Subaru has already invested the development cash, Toyota gets it for a fraction of the cost. All of the pictures you've sen have been artists' concepts. There's no hard information on what it will look like. But I would suspect a shortened Impreza with Toyota cladding. Though if it does hit US shores as a Scion, it should be more entertaining to look at than a toyota (or present-day Subarus.. ) Other scuttlebutt: Subaru may have an STI version. If they do, Toyota may rebadge it as a Supra.
  5. My 03 WRX rode like a luxury car when I got it. And it had dead struts at the time too. I even have since upgraded to D-spec struts and STI springs and it's still a nicer ride than my STI. I think the WRX is a VERY comfortable ride in slock or close to stock form. If you rode in one that was rough, it sounds like it had coilovers, and all but maybe two or three sets of coilovers are way over-damped for the street.
  6. 323.5hp/ton F-body vs 292.6hp/ton BMW.. All things equal, the F-body should win. The F-body has a live rear axle and torque-arm suspension stock. And I doubt it's been left stock. So it should hook better than the BMW also. Unless the f-body breaks/screws up, it should win.
  7. Don't have the Sam Adams Oktoberfest at Bd's Mongolian BBQ on Sawmill.. Stuff tasted like vinegar.
  8. Just had one of these: http://www.greatlakesbrewing.com/media/beer_profiles/Oktoberfest2009_BottleGlass.jpg And bought some of these: http://www.wanderingfools.com/images/Beers/Sam-Adams-Black-Lager.jpg
  9. I think that would be outside the OP's price range.
  10. It sucks that the Olympics aren't coming to the US. But Chicago? Really? We have so many better places for the Olympics.
  11. I only find it acceptable because it's the least likely to cause damage. I think because of its poor flow, it prevents the lean condition that other intakes can cause. Agreed. Unless we're talking a turbo upgrade and a custom tune with the proper intake scaling, they're pointless and somewhat dangerous. 120K and no cracked radiator here. These guys are talking bigger power. An RS(2.5i) are moddable, but you'll never kit the power levels that you could with a WRX. Just a Turbo-back and a tune and you're knocking on the door of 300hp (crank).
  12. If the previous owner didn't know how to drive.... My WRX has 120K miles on the "glass" 02 transmission and it's fine. From late 03 and on, the WRXs have a beefier trans. It's not as good as the STI 6-speed, but it's still strong enough. Pop the hood and see if it's been modded. If it has an intake other than the SPT intake, or an aftermarket BOV, I'd probably keep looking.
  13. Yeah, I've been wanting to get penis reduction surgery....... Why couldn't she go into porn like a respectable big-breasted woman?
  14. The Canadians I've met have been cool. And I don't remember what it was like there when I went to Niagra Falls as a kid. However... Whenever I see a prick driving around as if he's the ONLY car on the road, with no regard for other drivers, and I see it's a Canadian plate, it's 99 times out of 100 a Quebec plate. I try to keep Quebeccers as far behind me as possible.
  15. So it's in the back so it's one less thing the driver has to worry about?
  16. I've been thinking of getting a LSD-equipped RWD car for RallyX; just for the fun-factor.
  17. Noob questions: There's a guy moving with the car and it looks like he's holding down a switch or something that's behind the fuel door. I've seen people doing something similar for other cars. What are they doing?/What is the switch(?) for?

    Just an FYI.

I love snow. Love it, love it, love it. Spent 9 New England winters with RWD vehicles and it's even more fun now that I have AWD. They aren't bad. Just remember that Mr. Traction Control is NOT your friend in the snow, you need to be able to burn down to the pavement below. I commuted 160+ mi/day in a '98 T/A. Three 60lb bags of sand in the deep well at the back of the trunk do wonders.
  19. Doesn't really matter. It's in the general area, so prices will go up.
  20. Apparently. What was he referencing?
  21. Remember, the bullet isn't going to be in the same shape. High speed + odd shape + likely a high rate of spin = sound. And the doppler effect from it approaching the camera will shift the sound to a higher frequency.
