  1. A friend of mine wants to get a paint gun. Problem is, neither of us know what's a good gun, and what's junk. He has a huge 2-stage IngersollRand compressor already, so he's good on that front. What he's looking for in a gun is something where, if the paint is screwed up, he knows it's his fault, not the fault of a junk gun. Also, how essential is a dryer for a beginner? And if he has to get one, again, what's a good brand? Thanks
  2. With a top speed of 720HP, I wonder if it can do the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs.

  4. Same here. Just saw it and I think it was a great movie. I don't see why someone HAS to read it to enjoy the movie. As for Rorschach, he's freakin' badass. I thought he was just a conspiracy theory nut. I was surprised by how much ass he kicked.
  5. Will treadmills NEVER stop being a source of awesome entertainment? I hope not.
  6. "Really? You can extend my warranty? That's great! My Superleggara isn't working, I'm glad you guys can help. It just needs a new body, engine, drivertrain, and interior. I think the reason why it isn't working is because I don't have one. But you'll fix it, right?"
  7. They are nice, aren't they? I had the STI out the other day because the weather was so good. It's was great driving around in a car with so much GRIP after a whole winter in the WRX on snows.
  8. I declare the phrase "The Z" officially overused. I saw the title and thought, could be a 350Z, but it's probably a Z06. And then, it turned out to be a Z28. Though it could also have been a 280Z or 300Z, or maybe someone's Z71 pickup. Hey, aren't we expecting someone here to be picking up a ZR1 at some point? Then of course, someone could have a classic Corvair, or it could even be some ricer with a Saturn. But then, the killing blow. I give you, The Z Car: http://www.yankodesign.com/2007/08/01/zcar-project/ http://www.yankodesign.com/images/design_news/2007/08/01/zcar.jpg
  9. Why the hell did they block out the gauges if they were running on a runway, and then go on to say "nearly 200mph" later..
  10. Bet it oversteers like a bitch. Looks heavy too. I'd rather an X-Bow, Atom, or Caterham. Though the three-wheel loophole in US traffic laws mean you could drive the 20cup with a motorcycle license.
  11. Not a new thing, actually. Saw a SUV with tail lights like that back in '98 or '99.
  12. That uses a pulse engine. It would sound like a series of smaller booms. Possible. Though a sonic boom usually sounds different from thunder.
  13. He wanted a *race* and then got upset when you pulled out *race* gas? Lame. Not worth your time. He probably wouldn't have payed up when you won anyways.
  14. I like it. Just downloaded it from XBox Live and gave it a twice-through. Yeah, yeah. Some of you will cry foul considering my flaying of NFS:Uc. But I do like this game. Whereas the aforementioned PoS tries to pass itself off as a racer, this sells itself as an action movie with a controller and does just that. Granted, I've only played the demo, but it's pretty fun. Wheel compatibility is shaky, but that may be because it's a demo. The game has Vin in it, no surprise there, and the requisite badass hot chick. You're running from the cops and trading paint. What interesting is the game mechanics they've added for this. Rather than leaving you with the usual ramming and bumping, you get "Melee Attacks." They're completely unrealistic, but fun. You also have some gun attacks that are standard Action movie fare. One is a slow-down shot to take out key targets. But the other is straight out of Vin's other movies. The car does a 180, continues rolling backwards as you shoot at the bad guys behind you. Not the least bit realistic, but just plain fun. However, the most mindbogglingly silly thing is also one of the coolest. You can carjack other cars by doing what's called an "Air Jack." You pull up behind the car you want and hold the B button until an indicator over the target car goes green. When it does, you release the B button and Vin will JUMP to the car ahead and jack it while still moving! The sheer absurdity actually works in favor of this game. I go to action movies to see shit blow up, and this game delivers in that respect. Expect more from it, and you'll be disappointed, I'm sure. But if you're looking for a mindless car-filled action game, this is it. This game will also go over well with people who think GTA should have more Vin Diesel. So I'd say the demo is definately worth the download, check it out if you have a 360. As for the full game, I'll likely be picking it up.

  16. Looks to me like he's the guy that's supposed to warn the truck drivers of oncoming trains. I don't think he was doing his job.
  17. You guys go on ahead with your galactic wars and time traveling (F-ers, I wanted the TARDIS). I'll just be having fun in my Zonda R. http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/000paganizondar.jpg
  18. Interesting but (I haven't read everything yet) isn't it possible that this is just the result of binding a baby's head while the skull is still pliable?
  19. Familiarize yourself with this: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62801 It really should be a sticky.
  20. That's called progress. The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man. -- George Bernard Shaw
  21. dumb.. The old con of something from nothing is alive and well. You can't create energy. But people forget that energy was used to compress the air first. I'll bet the energy used to compress the air is more than the car can get from the air. (sucker bet) But people keep coming up with these "alternative fuel" methods that have multiple sources of loss in the production. Hopefully the Volt will change people's perceptions of electric cars.
  22. Perfect. Cool pics by the way.
  23. They have extra coding in the links.. NOt sure what for. Stumbleupon maybe? The extra crap might not work with Chrome.
