  1. And people actually pay up after that? The last time I jumped the gun and expected to win, I was 5 and driving a Big Wheel.
  2. Yup, that was the second red light in my initial comment. It's a good thing I never got into street racing, I wouldn't have stood for that kind of childish crap. Why bother having a starter anyways? First one to the line and on the gas wins. yay.. fun... not. How do you even brag about a win like that? "Dude, I totally walked him. I left the line before he even got in his car. His shit was SLOW."
  3. Still lame. It's right up there with "Rubbin's Racin'". Just a BS excuse for poor driving.
  4. If you watch, the civic does a one-wheel-peel. He needs to get a better LSD or throw a spool in it. It's also pretty lame that they both essentially red-lighted TWICE for one race.
  5. Seems Tire Rack is already listing the RE-11. They say the RE-11s will show up in March. I'm good for tires, but I'm curious how well the RE-11s will be recieved.
  6. Really? Because in street tire class racing like AutoX, THE tire to run for the longest time was the RE-01R. It was only recently that the Dunlop Z1 Star Spec dethroned it. The RE-11 is likely Bridgestone's answer to regain the crown.
  7. I have these on the STI. They are a superb tire. However, I think they're on Closeout because Bridgestone has an even better tire; the RE-11.
  8. The jiffy lube one was an old man. Now here's a woman DRIVER:
  9. Someone's gotta take you for a drive down one of these roads. A couple other Subaru guys and I did that to Thorne and he nearly swore off drag racing.
  10. Well, I don't try to get people to "bite" at stoplights, so I'm coming from that direction. While I do have one REALLY flashy car, the other is a bit more clean. I haven't debadged it entirely, but thats because the badges don't stand out like silver on blue. It's entirely up to you, I was just offering suggestions. I just think that those badges are getting in the way of a nice clean look. And with the right look, you can have an aggressive appearance while still looking clean. If I were to really dig into this car, I'd do a lip, even if it's just a well done garage lip. Also, I'd lower the car. It's not going to be winning any AutoXes any time soon, so you might as well get rid of some of the wheel gap and air under the belly. But not slammed.. And finally a subtle decklid spoiler; not a wing.
  11. They did the clear bra on my STI. They're great guys, and I've had them do lots of other little stuff too.
  12. Almost any state road with 3 digits is a good road. 555 is known for being particularly nasty. Just be careful of blind crests. I believe 374 is another good one.. Though I might have the numbers mixed up. Last year the Ohio River Run covered a lot of these roads. It was a ton of fun. I think they're doing it again this year, just can't find the info right now.
  13. Hmm.. 1. Don't be in your own car pics. Get a hot chick. Car pics are for guys, and guys don't want to look at other guys. 2. Rims, ditch 'em. If you plan to keep the car for a while, get a nice set of rims. Find out what other cars have similar fitments and look for a good deal on some nice rims. 3. Debadge. The "GSX" and "Superchrarged" stick out like sore thumbs. Get rid of them, or paint them the same as where they are mounted to de-emphasize them. 4. Tint the windows. You don't need limo tint; even a mild tint will help a lot. A legal 50% on the front side windows and 35% on the rest will help the look a lot and won't get a cop's attention. 5. Paint your side mirrors black. That way they'll match the black trim, black tint, and black B-pillars.
  14. There are better, less populated, and less policed roads in that area. TotD is too famous for its own good now.
  15. THIS is obviously sarcasm.. I was just worried we had someone on CR who thinks "Sin-Grooves" in a boosted engine were a good idea.
  16. pleasepleaseplease tell me this is sarcasm.
  17. If it's Hyundai, yes. But if it's one of those chinese knockoffs, no. Hyundai is a great example of how a company can improve its image.
  18. I completely agree with you there. Which is why I always have to swallow my ire when I vote. Our forefathers would call us all pussies for putting up with our government.
  19. I don't believe Cheney was chief of transportation. If Binden had come up with this idea, then I would give your criticism of Obama more weight. But it wasn't Binden. If Bush had stood up and proposed this, I'd have cried foul. But really, all those old farts in DC are self-motivated crooks. Just become one guy says something, it doesn't mean he's spouting the official line. He's likely trying to get a foot up on someone else. All I'm saying (and have ever said) is place the blame where it's deserved.
  20. Sorry, where have I supplied an opinion for you to regurgitate? As it is, I didn't see an opinion in your first post either. Just a reflex post blaming Obama for something you didn't like. And this last post you're blaming him for something you believe he'll do in the FUTURE. Honestly, if Obama had supported this, I'd be right there with you. But he's not. I'm not asking you to love Obama, just stop shouting "Change" like a trained parrot.
  21. Just pointing out how silly it is to blame one person for another's actions. I understand that a lot of people are irked over the media furor surrounding Obama, but come on. Whenever something is even questionable in government, whether it's Obama's idea or not, the Obama haters come out and start spewing "CHAAAANGE!" It's annoying for one, and makes the person look like a nutswinger. This thread is a great example. Someone says "Let's tax every mile you drive" and immediately we get the "CHAAAANGE!" post. Then it turns out that Obama is just as opposed to the idea as the person who blamed him for it. It's become a knee-jerk reaction for some people here to blame everything on Obama. Personally, I don't care about Obama. I think he'll get as much done as most Presidents; slightly more than nothing. But let's be a little more sensible here. Seeing "CHAAAANGE!" posted in every mildly political thread is going to get tiring in 4 years.
  22. Ahh, yes. Because nominating him to the position means that he has his brain removed and replaced with a reciever for Obama's mind control waves. Obama's responsible for every word utterd by every person in government, and every idea they have. Don't like something? It's Obama's fault! Regarding the mileage tax: Sounds like the President agrees with you. FUCK! You'd better start trying to get the mileage tax instated so you can continue to disagree with Obama!
  23. Do you have Forza 2? It's great for visualizing stuff like this. I'm not sure you can paint the stock rims in Forza, but you can find a set that's similar.
  24. GOOD. Hope they lose. I'm just watching it now, only half way through. Already the Evo guys have pissed me off. Bunch of idiots making the import crowd look bad. The ferrari team irks me too. "The Ferrari is such an incredible handling car... blah blah blah." Dude, if you wanted a great handling Ferrari, DON'T CUT THE FUCKIN' TOP OFF, POSER! The Pantera and Camaro are gorgeous, and the VW guys have balls for bringing that to the party. I am wondering how long the solstice couple will hold up. Little two-seater, 4000 miles, 21 days... I hope they have a happy marriage.
  25. If only one spot on the element is doing this, then it's likely the element is cracked.
