  1. I'm selling Junior to pay for the build. So there's some sacrifice.
  2. Also, no HVAC = fogged windows. A friend has a stripped out car for RallyX. He pulled the entire HVAC system to save weight..... Then the first rainy RallyX he couldn't see out of the car.
  3. Yeah, if it isn't shut off for the winter like ours is.

That's just freaky.. and mildly gay. I guess the rumors about you are true.
  5. +1 this is the one I use. Go up Bethel, left on to Sawmill. You'll see it on the left, just use the U-turn right after it. The owner's pretty cool. He doesn't have a problem with me cleaning my rally car as long as I hose down the bay afterwards.
  6. "Maglev" is what you're looking for. The wheels are only there to support it when the power's off. Once the power's turned on, the wheels retract like landing gear.

LOL. It's not the motorcycle I'm scared of, it's the idiot drivers out there that think motorcycles are targets. With four wheels you don't have to keep yourself up and can do more to avoid the dumbasses. Not to mention the larger contact patches for braking and turning. Now what sucks is that in the US 4+ wheels = car, which is bullshit. But I wonder how many cops really understand that. What if you get a bike, register it, then convert it to a quad like this? How many would look past the plate and say it wasn't legal? You have a bike plate, the main body looks like a bike, and you're riding in the same position as a bike. I don't think they'd even bat an eye.
  8. Not as fast, but just as cool. Man vs Nature:

http://thekneeslider.com/archives/2006/05/31/quadrazuma-by-lazareth/ Saw this in Babylon A.D. I'd rock it.
  11. I don't know if you edit them or not, but really, it's way too much talking in those vids. Introduce the crews and their cars. *briefly* give some background on the grudge. Show what the stakes are Run the cars. Aftermath. Shouldn't take more than a couple minutes total. Honestly, if the groups involved were better introduced and what was going on was more clear, they might just be interesting to watch. But as the vids are now, they're just a bunch of jaw flapping and cock-posturing.
  12. You know, in Japan, it's the girls that make gifts for the guys on Valentine's day.... Home made chocolates usually...
  13. Much better than the usual stuff you post. Straight to the car instead of 10 minutes of YapYapYap for 10 seconds of racing.
  14. For shits and giggles: Thrust SSC (Super Sonic Car) = ~9689hp/ton @ 763mph What really turns this into a jaw dropper, is that the Thrust SSC weighs 10.5 Tons! EDIT: Aerodynamic drag is a bitch. For the Thrust SSC to go 3 times the speed of the Veyron, it needs 20 times the power to weight ratio.
  15. Ferrari Enzo = 433hp/ton Bugatti Veyron = 481hp/ton Aero SSC = 772hp/ton Pikes Peak Taco = 1026hp/ton
  16. It's an Unlimited class car for the Pikes Peak hillclimb. I believe the engine choice was due to "Added Lightness" as the entire car weighs in at 1950lbs.
  17. I don't see a price comparison in that pdf. Features and safety don't mean it'll be used. It's comes down to cost, period. There are breather/Infra-red vision systems for firefighters that, by increasing survivability and visibility in smoke-filled buildings can save thousands of lives per year. But only a handfull are actually in use, because they cost so much. The people who do the budgets don't give a shit about the safety of our emergency personnel if it's going to cost more. I just don't see how a small company is going to essentially build a car with a ton of custom, low-volume parts for cheaper than a stripped out charger with some interior work. It's a great idea, no doubt. But this specialized emergency hardware only flies with investors because the real emergency departments can't afford it. You'll really only see these in use in Movies and CSI episodes. I wish it weren't the case, but it is.
  18. Probably Tim White. Only guy I know of with an RSTi that likes to get dirty. But he's been running his other cars at RallyX events lately and saves his GC for AutoX. Welcome to the world of boxer engines; where nothing is exactly where you expect it.
  19. Same result in racing I believe. I like the Zonda, I'd certainly own one. But the Lamborghini Diablo roadster, and then the Reventon had that extra something that I really liked.. But the Zonda R is just awesome. Did you notice the tach? Not sure if it'd really work out well there, but that's just freakin' cool nonetheless.
  20. Guess this fact: never occured to the people firing this guy. I wonder what the kids on the Dallas team are feeling. I mean, it's pretty insulting to be told that they had no way of winning unless the other team threw the game. ..that they suck so bad a man got fired because he didn't make his players go easy on them. Yeah... real fair.. Hopefully another school snatches this guy up. He took a team that lost 86-9 and turned them into a team that can win 100-0. His players like him, so he's not unfair to them. Sounds like a good coach. lol.. Maybe Dallas will hire him.
  21. the Koenisegg looks like a slipper. And I think the Stig proved quite conclusively that the aerodynamics are crap.
  22. But then you'd have to buy an 09.. Sure you can live with that? EDIT: I thought this was odd... Reply to the wrong thread?
  23. I like the Legacy. But I agree about the Impreza. It's some of Toyota blandness leaking in through the shares they hold I'm sure. That's something Subaru needs to take care of. In the past they may have been "quirky" or ugly, but at least they weren't boring or bland.
