  1. I concur with this. Modern Warfare was a failure with the Marriot's connection. Netflix worked fine though . I'm sure it varies a lot from hotel to hotel. I've also stayed at a hotel that had firmware/software loaded to disable connecting any external device to the TV through component/hdmi/rca inputs. It only displayed television through the coax jack, and required a separate cable box-like device and remote to operate that. It was quite a bummer.
  2. I don't know a lot about the VW TDI cars, but I would browse some forums and figure out how well the EGR systems and exhaust DPF or DEF system (not sure what the newest TDI's use) holds up over time. If you're buying new you will have to keep all the emissions in place to keep your warranty. Just something to look into.
  3. Agree with all the above. I forget how cool alot of the vimeo content is, and it usually plays better than youtube.
  4. How about gas, man. Has he ever had to replace the gas?:bangbang:
  5. Note the car seat, and the child in it: http://i.imgur.com/5tXxf6f.gif
  6. Dad has the 4x4 brother to my truck, and I carry tow straps. We good.
  7. First of all, learn to use punctuation of any kind. A period, comma, anything. Secondly, "sorry to tell you", but you're wrong about tuners. EFIlive changed their policy very recently, as did Smarty, and H & S. There is no "waiver" to get delete tuning. Any new tuners being shipped to dealers in the United States (at least those that work with 6.7 cummins trucks) will not have emissions delete capability from here forward. In the case of Smarty, I believe the emissions delete files are available, but I know that is not how EFIlive works. Do a little research, this is all very recent. Also, I'm very aware of why trucks smoke, and I know some of it comes with heavy fueling and is normal and unavoidable. What I'm referring to are the assholes that install smoke switches and intentionally smoky tunes. I agree completely, never said it did. Guys I'm well aware of all this. My degree is in Environmental Science, I did a major project on vehicle emissions my senior year, and I still willingly removed all the emissions from my diesel truck lol.
  8. I rarely rev-match while upshifting, but always down shifting. I also wear either work gloves or nitrile gloves when working, so that gets me out of #1.
  9. Aside from respecting neighbors, I'd prefer not to draw attention to the fact that I removed 100% of the emissions equipment from the truck, using a tuner that is now illegal to sell in the United States. It's the guys that think "rollin' coal" and smoking out intersections who cause more strict emissions regulations....
  10. I'm really digging the 12 inch long reflectors behind the rear wheel and ahead of the front wheel. Kinda looks like parentheses, which I personally consider a design "feature": http://cdn.slashgear.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/2014-corvette-wild-580x326.jpg (CORVETTE)

  12. I agree with you, except on the freeway, where drone was terrible especially towing. I also would have for sure been harassed by the Pickerington PD too, and it wasn't something I could start up before sunrise in my neighborhood. The truck is my daily driver. Thanks again Alex.
  13. The whistle gets louder when the exhaust brake is turned on, and yea it's a button on the dash. When driving it is only activated when you let off the throttle completely, to act as a brake. At idle, when cold, it activates to aid in warm-up. Really what's happening is the nozzle on the VGT turbo is closing off to create a restriction, "spooling" the turbo at idle. High idle is activated by setting the cruise control, with the truck parked and the parking brake on. The intended use is to increase engine idle speed for added load by PTO-operated equipment, larger electrical loads, etc. , but most guys use it to help the truck warm-up faster. It's a very common and safe practice with diesels.
  14. Alex at BPA did a beautiful job welding the extensions on to this muffler for me, so that it installs into the existing system with clamps. There were some extracurricular activities in the shop that I'm not too proud of (ask Alex), but he did a very nice job and it sounds great. Since I had the day off today, I made a video with a bunch of sound clips for members on cumminsforum. This should give some idea of how it sounds, including the ridiculous exhaust brake whistle at idle. Hide your dogs, fair warning.
  15. Be prepared for very gentle bites, very hard to notice. Fish aren't nearly as active in the winter, and generally don't feed as much as every process in their digestion/metabolism slows down. Also, depending on what species you're seeking, certain areas can hold large amounts of fish in the wintertime. Spots near feeder creeks, and sometimes slightly shallower areas where fish can sun themselves are popular in the wintertime. Some friends and I have been known to fish the warm-water discharges along ohio's rivers lol. Not at all natural, but sometimes the fishing benefits hugely.
  16. Ballpark for me here, what would total costs on an oversized 2-car garage run? Say 25x25 or 25x30ish. Most places require an official quote request, but I'm seeing anywhere from 6k to 10k.... sound right?
  17. Since reasonable people apparently buy diesel trucks based on their interiors.... 2006-2009 Dodge Interior: http://static.cargurus.com/images/site/2008/10/18/10/27/2009_dodge_ram_pickup_2500-pic-43273.jpeg 2003(ish) - 2006 Chevy Interior: http://www.auto123.com/ArtImages/70967/2006-Chevrolet-Silverado-2500HD-001.jpg 2010-2012 Dodge Interior: http://image.motortrend.com/f/10795224+w750/112_0808_16z+2009_dodge_ram+dash.jpg 2007 - 2012 Chevy Interior: http://image.trucktrend.com/f/8542887/163_0704_10z+2007_chevrolet_silverado+dash_view.jpg
  18. My dad has a 6.7 cummins in his 2010, and I have one in my 2007. Both trucks are 6-speeds, and I can say issues have been very limited. The 2010 has 60 or 70k on it, and my 2007 has 42k. The only maintenance other than oil/fuel/air filters has been a couple "turbo cleans" done by dealer, and covered under warranty. The variable vane turbos sometimes get sooted up (like twice in 70k for my dads truck) but only if you leave all the emissions crap in place. As for interiors being crappy as somebody mentioned, I would argue that gm has always been worse, and the 2010 trucks have better interiors than gm by far. The gm and dodge trucks share front and rear axles, both made by AAM. If you plan on doing your own maintenance or modifying the truck at all, the dodge is BY FAR easier and cheaper to work on. I recently deleted all the emissions equipment from my 2007, which requires a tuner to disable the functions in the ecu. I can tell you that all the delete work was very easy but that the factory clutch slips with much power over stock. I say dodge all the way. Dont believe all the dodge is junk talk.
  19. Seems like around 50% of the participants made it to the finish line without blowing up. What's with the laser pointers though, so they can see where to drive or what?
  20. Yea it's nothing crazy, just more than I'd prefer.
  21. Dropped the price of Black Ops to $50, since maybe nobody cares about the extra stuff.
  22. I may bring the loudass truck out before heading to alex's shop in heath.
