Oh come on! I didnt tune the car, I didnt drive the car, and I didnt build the car. All I did was find a small vacuum leak.......I dont deserve any credit here.

We had a customer drop off his newly supercharged 2005 F150. He recently installed an FRPP/Whipple supercharger kit with the supplied calibration. The owner is an airplane mechanic by trade and took a very sound approach to the installation and enjoyment to the vehicle. Even though he was running a known calibration that should have been fine for the truck, he waited to go wide open throttle until it was on the dyno and verified. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/F150/Mark%20Whipple%2005/201009011350061.jpg The supercharger made good power on the FRPP calibration but the FRPP/Whipple certainly has some flaws in it. Issue #1 is that they do not supply an injectors in the kit. Instead, they ramp the fuel pressure up to 70 psi on the factory injectors which takes the fuel pump duty cycle as well. At 5k rpm, the fuel pump duty cycle was 97% and left no room for any additional fueling to be added in an event like cat overtemp protection being enabled. The truck was also set to shift at 4900 rpm and had a 95 mph speed limiter still intact to prevent the truck from getting high enough in rpm to peg the pumps. Issue #2 is that the kit does not relocate the intake air temperature sensor into intake manifold. The issue with that is that if the intercooler pump were to fail and the iat's began to rise, the computer would never see it and compensate for the temp increase. After discussing the different options with the customer, the customer chose to add a set of 39 lb/hr injectors, a boost-a-pump, and a custom tune. We were able to drop the fuel pump duty cycle to 73% while having enough headroom for future upgrades and for overtemp protection if needed as well as bump the shift points and speed limiter up. Our custom tuning also provided a 20-25 lb/ft of torque increase across the entire rpm range and had a much smoother more progressive throttle feel to it while providing instant throttle response when you step on it. The truck is definitely a sleeper. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/F150/Mark%20Whipple%2005/396_421.jpg Video

Last week one of our customers brought us his 2009 GT500 for a few more upgrades. The customer has been working on the car in stages and has really taken a very good progressive approach to the car while sticking to a budget. He started out with just a simple cold air kit, bassani exhaust, and tune roughly 2 years ago. His next step was to lower the car and add some appearance items to it to customize it to his taste. 2 weeks ago he brought the car back in for a set of 3.73 gears and he brought the car back in this past week adding a 2.6 upper pulley and a C&R dual fan heat exchanger. His next step is going to be some sticky tires followed by a TVS supercharger upgrade. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/Mustang/GT500/Dave%2009%20Red%20Snake/DSC02556.jpg You hear about factory "freak" cars but rarely do you actually see them. This car is definitely one of those freak cars. It has been on the dyno 3 times with minor changes and has consistently put down 15+ more horsepower than any of the other GT500's that we have done with similar mods. The initial tune with the cai and exhaust put down 497 hp to wheels! Adding the 2.6 pulley and heat exchanger was no different. The car put down 550 rwhp fully heat soaked. After a quick cool down we made a quick glory pull in the car and saw 561rwhp/544rwtq. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/Mustang/GT500/Dave%2009%20Red%20Snake/561_544.jpg Dyno vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCepqrF5eSo&hd=1 This is easily the most power I have seen out of one of these cars with these mods. It is also a good example of how well these cars respond to mods. If you ever get the chance to drive one of these cars, do it. They are an absolute blast!

Congrats Wagner!! Sounds like you guys had a great time. I am glad the car is back up and running good for you.

You would probably be surprised at how much other stuff besides trucks we actually handle. We did start out as primarily a truck store back in 1999 but since about 2003 we have been handling quite a bit of car, rv, and even boat work as well. 99% of that work is all off of referrals from previous customers and continues to grow each year for us. As our customer base has grown, so has the level of vehicles that we have been entrusted with.

Our 08 Mustang GT shop car is headed down to "Mustangs at the Mansion" this week at the Biltmore Mansion. The car really doesnt get driven all that much but we had a few maintenance things to do to get the car ready. While we were in there we swapped out to a modified JLT Carbon fiber intake from a GT500 just for pure looks. Since the intake required tuning, I figured I would try and squeeze a little more power while I was at it. The car has a good history. Started life like this. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Larry/pro01_01.jpg Within 2 weeks it looked like this. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Larry/DSC02428-1.jpg Last year we were able to do the parade lap at Bristol with it with Kasey Kahne in the back. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Bristol%202009/DSC02485.jpg While at Bristol, Jack Roush did a meet and greet and signed the car. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Bristol%202009/roush.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Larry/DSC02451.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Larry/DSC02452.jpg The Roush TVS blower originally came pullied for 14lbs of boost. We swapped things around to bring boost down closer to 10 lbs and the car made 472/436 on a conservative tune. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Larry/TVS9lbsvsstock.jpg After the new intake and a few tweaks, the car put down 493/452 with a huge gain in torque between 2k and 4k rpm. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Larry/TVSDynoGraph.jpg Here is a vid of the dyno pulls.

Had a customer bring in his 2010 GT500 for a Jon Lund remote tuning session. This is the second car that Jon and I have worked on together and both have been a lot of fun. This car has a Whipple 3.4 on it and full exhaust. From what the customer told us we were expecting to see between 16-17psi from the supercharger but the customer actually had it pullied for 21 lbs. With a can of Torco Accelerator added to the tank, we were able to put a conservative tune in the car until the customer can get the pulley combo correct and bring boost back down to a level safe for pump gas. The car still made 720RWHP and was a monster on the street! http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/Mustang/GT500/Tim%202010%20Whipple/201007301021361.jpg Video has the dyno graph in it.

Taste is something that is purely subjective. What looks good to some may not look good to others and sometimes photos dont always show every little detail. In the end, as long as the guys is happy, so am I.

Thought I would share some pics of a customer Gallardo we just did a set of custom 3 piece wheels/tires for. This is will be the 6th car we have done work on for this particular customer in the last 6 weeks. Before http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Lamborghini/DSC01438.jpg After http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Lamborghini/DSC01452.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Lamborghini/DSC01451.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Lamborghini/DSC01455.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Lamborghini/DSC01458.jpg Some interior shots http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Lamborghini/DSC01442.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Lamborghini/DSC01441.jpg

Yes, I am running a BMR adjustable panhard, Metco billet lowers with the instant centering brackets and a Roush upper. Aside from that, everything else is stock. I just double checked the time slip as well. The 60' was a 1.85 not a 1.86 close enough regardless. It should do a bit better and I cant wait to get it in some good air. It has been so humid the last two times out that you could feel your clothes sticking to you the entire night.
-
I tried today. Just got voice mail.
-
1.86. It has some more in it. I found a few things I am going to tweak in the tune file and then I pulled one of the springs on the clutch that aids in pushing it in(it also binds on the return). Hopefully next trip I can power shift it and see where it goes.

Thanks Ray. It was great meeting you as well as getting to see your car run.

Headed out to Marion friday night with Wagner. As usual had a great time. The only change I made to the car was I added a set of drag radials to the rear. Took me a couple of passes to figure out where I needed to lauch the car without bogging down or just flat spinning the tires off the car. On the second pass, the clutch pedal started sticking to the floor when I would powershift (this seems to be a common problem when powershifting at hight rpm's), so I had to shift normally for the rest of the evening. Once I figured out what rpm range I needed to be in on the launch, I was able to start getting the times to start dropping. This was my best pass of the evening. I would have liked to sneak one more in as I just kept dropping times but they shut the track down. Oh well, there is always another weekend. I did get some good data from the track and have some changes planned for next week. Also wanna say thanks to Wagner for hanging out for the evening and getting a few passes on camera! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ef7QRepBJk&hd=1 And as you can see from the burnout, line lock is definitely on the list of things to come soon.

Headed out to Marion after work friday night to have a little fun. Ran into Rob Lasotta out there. We were able to line up and make a few passes. All the runs were close and it was a ton of fun to run neck and neck. Now if Rob still had his turbo setup the night probably wouldnt have been near as fun for me........ Here are a couple of passes that we were able to get on video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2TSYJuUTVw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sHsAr5abfw

Yeah, I am still a little rusty. Went to Marion again last night and knocked it down to 12.7@112.
-
No, this guys nave is Merv. Really nice guy.

I hope to own something "stupid fast" one day!
-
As of right now, a tune, Corsa mufflers, lowering springs, and a set of billet lca's.

Took the car out to Marion this evening. Took a few passes but I finally got this thing into the 12's. First pass I was sleeping on the tree and then on the 1-2 the car broke free and pointed me at the wall. Broke again on the 2-3. Ended up coasting the last bit of the track and ran a disgusting 13.6@91. Second run I cut a 13.3@107. Everytime i powershifted the car on the 1-2, it would point me at the wall and I had to lift. On the 3rd run I powershifted every shift but the 1-2. Ended up running 12.9@111. Followed that run up with a better run and and ended up running 12.8@112. I wanted to keep on going but it started to rain and they shut the track down. Oh well though. I am pretty happy with 12.8 on the stock street tires at this point. Ill probably head out to trails next time they are open on friday night and see if I can improve on it any further before I put a set of dr's on it. I think there may still be some more left in it.

Swing down to the shop sometime. It is normally there during the day. We also have a customers black 2011 5.0 in the showroom while we wait for some parts for it.
