  1. I havent added up the mods but I would say you are probably pretty close. I may have a little more in than that on the retail side. You could obviously shave some money by going with a cheaper exhaust system. Corsa stuff is usually pretty pricey but the older I get, the less I want to hear it in the car. I had the camera running for the 12.06 pass but the disc was too full and the camera shut off just after the launch. I was a bit disappointed but that is how it goes sometimes. Wagner thought he may have got it on video though.
  2. I couldnt finish that one. It was making me sick just watching it. Im like Jones, I get more than about 10-15 feet in the air and I just shut down. I dont start shaking but I cant move.
  3. I thought you might like this.
  4. We had a customer swing up today to have a few dyno pulls done in his R8. The car was just recently shipped back from California after getting upfitted with a Heffner Twin Turbo kit. The car was baselined in California on a Mustang dyno and made 344hp. With the 6 lb turbo kit installed, power was just under 500 hp on our Mustang dyno. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Audi/2009%20R8/201009161615411.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Audi/2009%20R8/DSC00033.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Audi/2009%20R8/DSC00030.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Audi/2009%20R8/DSC00035.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Audi/2009%20R8/DSC00034.jpg Pretty cool car and made my afternoon a lot of fun! We didnt do any work on the car other than the dyno pulls but I thought a few guys on here might enjoy the pics.
  5. I dont have any plains laid in stone just yet. Just when I think I have my mind made up, I change it. Short term plans are to get the car back on the road. After the weekend of racing, the car no longer wants to go in gear sitting at an idle running. Once it is moving, all is fine. Im not really sure what the exact issue is at this point. I am hoping to get time to tear it apart sometime next week. While I am in there, I am going to go ahead and put a new McLeod RST clutch in to handle the abuse.
  6. Hey Rob, your pm box is full. It wont let me respond to your pm.
  7. Hey thanks man. I have tossed it around but I dont know yet. Ill make my mind up in the next week or so probably. I have a few things that I would like to do to the car to squeeze a bit more out of it. I guess it will probably come down to whether I get time to do those things or not.
  8. Thanks. The best part for me was that I wasnt powershifting the car. I started having the clutch pedal stick to the floor a couple of weeks ago. I went ahead and modified the pedal and it seems to fix the issue but I didnt want to risk trying it this weekend. If it had stuck to the floor, that would have been it. So, the 12.06 run was done with normal shifting.
  9. Thanks Chad. I already have the 2 step figured out and will have it in the car before the next event.
  10. Yeah not too bad. I think the best 60' so far was a 1.64. I should have put up that the stock limited slip has been replaced with a detroit tru-trac as well which I am sure helps a little. The stock one failed the week before and all I could get out of it was a one wheel peel.
  11. Raced NHRA Unleashed this weekend. Went out in the first round but I was able to set a new personal best of 12.06@113.8 during qualifying. So far the only mods are lower control arms, upper control arm, drag radials, lowering springs, Corsa mufflers, Corsa x-pipe (retains factory cats), and our custom tuning. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/Mustang/2011%20Mustang/Brady%202011%20GT/DSC00028.jpg
  12. I dont believe they have posted them yet. They will probably wait until after the car runs like they always do. Gotta create some drama.
  13. I saw that yesterday. Car is going to be fun to watch. Evolution did a nice job of outsourcing the car. Michael from L&M builds a nasty motor and is a great guy to boot!
  14. I guess I did use better a lot! I feel for the price, the Shelby is a decent buy. Some guys feel it is overpriced. Okay, I can see that. But at the same time, you are paying for more than just the supercharger upgrade. Obviously the 5.4 is proven and the 2011 is the new aluminum block. You can easily up the power to levels that make the car insane to drive on the street without worrying about the internals a whole lot. The fuel system is there to support the power and has plenty of room to grow for minimal money. Yeah you could build a 5.0 but no one knows what the thresholds for the new 5.0 motor are. Until they start popping, no one is going to know how strong the internals are. Twin turbo, supercharger, whatever, is going to set someone back $7-8k and then tuning it is a whole nother topic. The clutch needs upgraded to hold any power, they arent even taking the abuse the stock motor gives out. Trust me, I know. And once the 5.0 motor is making the power of the GT500, you still dont have the stronger trans that the GT500 has, or the wider wheels and tires that you will need to help keep the car on the road. So comparing apples to apples, the GT500 really is not a bad buy at all, plus you get the warranty.
  15. Im saying the progression just keeps getting better and better each year and if I had to choose a year, the 2011 would be it.
  16. Well, Ill dare to be different and say go with the GT500. Personally I like both cars but if I were choosing for me, I like the GT500 a bit better. I think it just fits my personality better. I like the roominess of the interior a bit better and there is something really fun about driving a supercharged car. The 07-09 cars while nice but were not all that impressive in the power department until you begin to mod them and then they really wake up. The 10's are better than previous years and the 11' is even better. The interiors are way better than previous generations, the handling is better, the traction control system is better, the steering is better with the new electric power assist. All around it is a much better car than previous years. I love the way the 2011 with the track pack sits and the GT500's are fairly easy to get alot more power out of without breaking the bank. Either way though, you really cant go wrong. Both cars are really fun to drive. It really should just come down to personal preference and whichever you see yourself enjoying for longer.
  17. I sucked when it counted. Lol! Ill have a solution for that next time though and a few more horses to drop another 1/10 or so.
  18. And when exactly are you and Pegasus going to make it out? BTW, congrats Wagner for doing so well!
  19. Well, I asked and nobody would give me the mic. The event was a great time. It was cool getting to hang out with everyone and I had a blast even though I went out in the first round. I ran my best pass ever in qualifying with a 12.066@113.85. I am really happy with that considering I am still running the stock airbox and cats! The car really needs a 2-step and just a bit more power to be competitive in the 12.0 class. I had to be dead on to be close. In the first round I overshot the launch rpm at the line and then by time it came down the tree lit and I was late. I ended up launching a little low on rpm and then didnt have enough to catch up. I had fun regardless and plan to do a few more events with the car. Here is the time slip from the morning qualifying round. For those that dont know, my mods so far are lowering springs, lca's, uca, mt et streets, my own custom tune, and Corsa mufflers. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/Mustang/2011%20Mustang/Brady%202011%20GT/DSC00028.jpg And here is the video of my first round failure! Lol! I would have had the 12.06 pass on video but the camera ran out of memory space half way down the track. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z45fosvw8ig&hd=1
  20. Looks like a bow from an Extang cover. If CarWhore doesnt find one, I should be able to get one.
  21. Do you know what brand it is? If so, we may be able to locate a set of bows. If not, it might be hard to do. Every manufacturer makes theirs a bit different as far as how they mount as well as the dimensions.
  22. Saw the truck out there friday night. I wasnt able to see the passes from where I was but the truck sounded really good at the line!
  23. Its a twin screw. Curve looks normal for that boost level. Spinning the blower faster would flatten it out earlier.
