The car has mostly been sitting in the showroom at the shop along with another customers 2011 5.0. We were able to get a little bit of work done on the car. So far we added Roush 1" Lowering Springs, a BMR adjustable Panhard bar to recenter the rear axle, and a set of Corsa Extreme Mufflers. No never have. I know the dimensions are close on the newer ones but I think the 05-06 cars are a few inches taller. I am 6' and my head is in the roof even with the seat reclined.
-
That appears to be a dealer tag on the back. I do like the rims though. The stock GT rims are the one thing I do not like about the car. Well, that and the fact that I feel like I am going to take my head off every time I close the door due to the way the doors are made.

Thanks Scott. Yeah, I am very thankful to be in the position I am in. I get to do alot of really fun projects with alot of really cool people. I really cant imagine doing anything else. Looking back 6-7 years ago, I would have never pictured myself having the opportunities that have presented themselves. The last couple of years, we have really been growing, expanding, and stepping up our game. I am more stressed out now than I ever have been on a regular basis but I am also having more fun now than I have ever had.

I have no idea. I am not sure where he lives at. This is the second car we have done for him this month though.

The paint also had a lot of swirl marks in it. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/GT%20Supercar/DSC01489.jpg Our boy Josh getting to work on correcting the paint. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/GT%20Supercar/DSC01490.jpg The end results. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/GT%20Supercar/DSC01523.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/GT%20Supercar/DSC01525.jpg Some other cool pics. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/GT%20Supercar/DSC01512.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/GT%20Supercar/DSC01511.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/GT%20Supercar/DSC01513.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/GT%20Supercar/DSC01509.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/GT%20Supercar/DSC01508.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/GT%20Supercar/DSC01510.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/GT%20Supercar/DSC01529.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/GT%20Supercar/DSC01528.jpg

We had the opportunity to do some work on one of our customers Ford GT. It is an absolutely beautiful car! I have been drooling all over it the last couple of days in the shop. Anyway, the customer was after a little extra horsepower and wanted the car detailed. A pulley swap and a new throttle body brought power up to 610 rwhp! http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/GT%20Supercar/DSC01520.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/GT%20Supercar/DSC01519.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/GT%20Supercar/DSC01516.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/GT%20Supercar/DSC01515.jpg The pulley swap is a little bit different than doing an 03/04 Cobra or even a newer GT500. Due to the orientation of the supercharger, the supercharger must be removed to gain access to the pulley. Also, the snout is not drilled like the Cobra or GT500. Basically, in order to do the swap, the snout has to be disassembled so everything can be pressed off/on and then reassembled. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/GT%20Supercar/DSC01487.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/GT%20Supercar/DSC01488.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/GT%20Supercar/DSC01486.jpg Everything back together! http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/GT%20Supercar/DSC01507.jpg And the results. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/GT%20Supercar/Tune.jpg We did some baseline pulls stock. All 3 stock runs were aborted early due to the car running extremely rich and then entering cat overtemp protection making it even richer. The car was headed towards the 500 mark or just a hair below stock.

We finally took the 5.0 to the track last friday. Got there at 5:30 and got 3 passes in before leaving at midnight. I didnt run as fast as I would have liked to but it has been about 4 years since I have driven a stick car at the track so I needed a few passes to get used to it. The first pass, I wheel hopped all the way through first and second and then hit the rev limiter on the 3-4 shift. Felt like I was driving across railroad tracks through the first two gears. Even had a guy comment on how bad the bumper was shaking when I took off. Still managed a 13.4@107. The second pass I decided to just launch off idle. Bogged a bit off the line but then the car picked up some. Ended up running a 13.2@108. The third pass I ended up launching a little higher in the rpm range. Actually got it to shave 1/10th of the 60ft without wheel hopping and then I missed 3rd. I would have liked to have gotten some more runs in but oh well, we had a great time regardless. With a few more passes under my belt, Ill have this thing running in the 12's on the street tires. Here is a link to the 13.2 video.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhjtugCvqIA

The only thing I am listing is a K&N drop in replacement filter.

Popped the shrouds off the 5.0 today and snapped a few quick pics. I find it interesting to see how things change over the years and how things are laid out. I was 1 tube of rtv away from popping the valve covers and snapping a few pics as well. Unfortunately, I was at my house at the time of taking the pics and didnt feel like running to the parts store. With the upper cover off, you can see the heater lines running directly fuel rails. There is a dense foam insulator directly over the fuel rails. The feel for the fuel rails is also moved front and center in the crossover tube compared to the middle of the drivers side rail like previous years. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/2011%20GT%20%20Pics/20100711110705_1_.jpg Pulling the foam isolators off reveals the fuel rails. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/2011%20GT%20%20Pics/20100711105526_1_.jpg Quick pick of the intake manifold inlet. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/2011%20GT%20%20Pics/20100711105454_1_.jpg The dual belt drive is new for 2011 as well. The rear drive operates the ac only, while the front spins the water pump and alternator. There is no power steering pump for 2011 either as it is now electric assist. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/2011%20GT%20%20Pics/20100711105423_1_.jpg A good view of the tri-y header coming off the driver side head. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/2011%20GT%20%20Pics/20100711110847_1_.jpg Pulling the oil fill cap reveals the timing chains for the overhead cams. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/2011%20GT%20%20Pics/20100711115008_1_.jpg Ill put up more pics of the underside of the car hopefully next week. Corsa is sending us one of the first runs of the new Extreme axle back mufflers as well as an X-pipe for the car.

I will have one of the guys put together a few options for you tomorrow when we get into the shop. Thanks, Brady

Dont forget about the steering wheel "clunk" from the intermediate steering shaft. Makes driving one annoying. Overall, nice vehicles though.

Very cool! It is a fun car to work on.

For the 4.6 3v cars you can do the Roush M90 setup and keep the factory warranty as long as it is installed by a Roush authorized dealer or performance shop. There is nothing available yet for the 5.0 although I think Ford Racing/Whipple are getting close on the setup they are using on the GT350. Dont know if it will keep the factory when they actually start selling the kits over the counter or not.

That is definitely a valid concern. The good thing about the first model year is that after the first year, manufacturers start looking for ways to cut production costs. The car tuned feels like a completely different car and is a ton of fun to drive. The more I drive it, the more I enjoy it. I see you are in NC. I have a friend that owns a shop in Conover that could help you out if you ever did decide to do a tune.
-
That would have been Kyle. He normally drives the Avalanche. I am typically either in the 2011 5.0 or the Grey F150.
-
I believe I do. Especially after eating mexican food. I can really clear a room!

Didnt see the floppy drive. Lol. Try this one. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5503074&CatId=2508 Thats a pretty good deal on a toughbook. Those things are really expensive new. The one I use for tuning was over $2k but they are rock solid and tough as nails.

Yeah, that was me. I noticed you right at the end as you were getting ready to turn off of 23. Swing down to the shop sometime. The car will pretty much always be there unless I am driving it.
-
I would only tease you if you didnt bring it here!

We were finally able to fill the tank with some 93 octane fuel. The car is still bone stock. Did some more baselines and got a highest of 387/370. From there I went to work on tuning it a bit late last night. The way the car sits now, it is at 403/381 with hopefully a little bit left in it! I didnt get to spend as much time with it on the dyno as I would have liked. These cars are quite a bit different than previous generations. I still have a few tuning tweaks I would like to make and see where it goes from there and then next up will be to test out a cold air kit and an exhaust. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/Mustang/2011%20Mustang/Brady%202011%20GT/93TPBefore_AfterGraph.jpg http://http//i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/Mustang/2011%20Mustang/Brady%202011%20GT/93TPBefore_AfterGraph.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/Mustang/2011%20Mustang/Brady%202011%20GT/2011TP_P1.jpghttp://i548.photobucket.com/albums/ii353/brady/Ford/Mustang/2011%20Mustang/Brady%202011%20GT/2011TP_P2.jpg

Yeah, mine is sitting at about a 14 mpg average through the first tank. Gotta break it in right. Lol! Had about 15 dyno pulls on it today that didnt help either. So far I really like mine. I really like the handling and the only gripes I have are really minor. The cars definitely come alive above 3500 and they are very smooth. Ford did a really nice job with them.
-
Love it. Same thing I just bought. How are you liking it so far?

Very nice car. Love the blue. Stick or Auto?
