  1. https://www.etsy.com/listing/455898504/groomsmen-gift-groomsmen-flasks at $35 a piece these are a bargain and much more interesting than just an engraving. etsy is a great resource for this kind of stuff.
  2. FBM has been far easier and more communicative than craigslist ever has been for me. Picked up a few good deals on there with no trouble, most same day.
  3. My mom has a 2017 X3, and its pretty incredible how much it handles like a solid sedan from 10-15 years ago. I've never driven any other modern crossover but I imagine they'd make me put a bullet in my head. Going to be spending a good part of the day today helping with a friends jeep. Wrenching past sundown outdoors is the big no. My contribution: drove home from work with windows up and volume down for first time ever and found my right side test pipe may have cracked already ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  4. I'm just leaving work now. Shitshow today.
  5. Can you toss an update in the thread? I'd be leaving work at 8 that night. Haven't been out to any CR/CC&C event in a while, need to make my way out!
  6. for a fun filled list of how many companies have fucked up and leaked your info, enter your email here (safe, not spam, etc) https://haveibeenpwned.com/
  7. It means your drunk uncle lost it in a boating accident 15 years ago and it no longer exists.
  8. Clay if you end up getting the chair, mind grabbing a helmet and pair of gloves for me? Otherwise, Doc, which dumpster
  9. Wow, lots of good stuff up here. I'd grab whatever helmet as long as the fits good, and a pair of gloves, but I'm stuck at work from 8-8 friday & saturday.
  10. I love pointless engine swaps. It isn't like he is ruining a classic. There are plenty of clapped out C6s out there. Next someone should put a subaru motor in a mustang.
  11. yes, although it technically makes you a fraudyboi which is why you take a razor blade and swap the sticker :ninja: when you buy it watch to see if they scan the serial number on the box. if they dont just return your bad one with the box it came with or just go when its busy or end of day when the 19 year old at returns is giving less than his usual shits
  12. DAMN Early bird got the worm on this one. What a bargain.
  13. This wont be the first time a 4l60e lets go on you
  14. I used this guy once before http://www.ttdohio.com/ and was very happy with the quality of the install, although... had a white car, got a lot of tint "residue" left on it where film was left hanging and finger prints and it took a tiny effort to wipe off but really no harm.. Otherwise guy did a hell of a job, crazy tight lines, and he comes to you.
  15. anyone willing to bet someone is already working to 2jz swap one of these
  16. I've discussed this with friends several times. Each time we come to the conclusion that unless we can get 6 of us to split the cost it isn't really worth it, too many small fees that really add up especially if you plan on going a good distance.
  17. THE TIRES HAVE BEEN CHOSEN. I ended up with the facebook marketplace set of 245/40/19 BFG G-Comp 2 A/S with ~75% tread left for $250. I've had these tires before and enjoyed them, and for the price I wasn't going to say no. Wasn't going to pay 3x as much for a tire 20% better. Maybe I will for the next set if my abilities exceed that of these tires.
  18. Thanks for the insight, I'll look a bit more. Going to do as many autocrosses as I can make it to this year. Maintaining a decent ride is still something I want to an extent. Harsh ride and loud exhaust doesn't impress most lady passengers. You also have a Q50S I've been checking junkyards hoping to find a G37S to steal brakes and paddle shifter from, still need to research if the brakes will fit the stock 17" wheels.
  19. As of now the frontrunner is Pirelli P Zero Nero GT at Discount Tire for $152/piece. These seem to be a newcomer but are quite well reviewed, placing near the top in the max performance summer (aka: still daily) category on tire rack https://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=MP The second place right now... facebook marketplace has 4x used BFG G-Comp 2 A/S with at least a summer or twos worth of tread for $250 located in cleveland though, but I need to go to cleveland soon anyways to get my tune done... anyways I've had these tires in the past and really liked them, not that I have much to compare them to but I thought they were excellent. Downside is one of the tires has a plug in it, will tire shops mount/balance a tire with a plug?

    Whisky

going to butt in here... someone recommend some good moderately priced canadian or scotch for me.
  21. going to make a decision on friday should add on to this that I'm AWD and really don't need straight line launch power, it has rarely had problems with that on stock all seasons. Looking for tires that would help with cornering (the smaller sidewall is already going to help a ton)
  22. The Lexanis are literally rebranded Lionhart, so still tempted, but the price on the pirellis is too good. who knows. I'm all about that sidewall life when it comes to potholes. Would probably crack one of the 19s in winter. Still need to figure out TPMS
  23. Picked up some 19x8 wheels, really wanted 19x9 but these came along for a steal. Been looking at summer tires but can't make up my mind. Never had summer tires before. Part of me wants to go really cheap and thrash the tires as much as possible. In the "really cheap* range I was looking at Lexani LX-Twenty. These are basically rebranded Lionhart tires that seemed to have good reviews. Reviews for these are quite decent as well. I can find these for $95 a tire. The minority smarter part of my brain says to go mid-range. Discount Tire has Pirelli P Zero Nero for $152/tire which seems to be a quite good price for the tire. The "you are going to use these rims year round anyways and never put winters on the stock rims" part of my brain says don't even go summers, and to get BFG G-FORCE COMP-2 All Seasons. I've had these before and really enjoyed them. Price, $188/tire. Tire size I need is 245/40/19, which will give me the same circumference as the stock 17" setup. Thoughts?
