What what you get your 16 year old kid for a car?
Ry_Trapp01647545522 replied to Buck531's topic in Passing Lane
geo tracker. driving the NHTSA-rated deadliest vehicle on the road sure gives you a lot of respect for other drivers and keeps you aware of traffic flow in intersections. and that's not even mentioning the winter driving skills acquired from driving a top heavy, 2wd, 2000lb vehicle around. -
lol, "there will be hell to pay if those sons of bitches fuck up my mini van!!!"

well, i can't just say i would buy it since i dont know anything about this hypothetical car(that will more than likely happen), but the fact that it's an alfa or a chrysler wouldn't influence my decision. if it's a good car, it's a good car, no matter the brand.

do you mean the 100mpg, 400hp, foxbody 'stang that this article is talking about...? -
i bought a 12 pack of pepsi throwback, but IMO it's a slight downgrade from regular corny syrup pepsi. it's not disgusting or anything, but just doesn't quite taste as good. and where the hell can i find dew throwback in anything other than 12 pack form???

yea, i loved the movie! it's really tough for me to get into the slow and drawn out dramas, but the wrestler is absoloutley perfect. i think all the scenes with complete silence, or mickey rourke just doing every day life crap really helped pull the movie together and suck you into it. seeing morisa tomei's tits didn't hurt either!!! and, 'requium for a dream' is just plain awesome! darren aronofsky is definatly one of my favorite directors.

corky bells company produces a 2.5 turbo header. let me search it up real quick. edit: nevermind, i think this is actually for the 4.0l(yea, no one makes anything for the 2.5l, lol)... http://www.cartech.net/jeepturbo.htm the JP article turned out to be a bust as far as turbo parts(they only list the 505 kit that was posted here). it looks like your only options are far as FI is concerned are the 505 turbo kit, a custom kit built with the cartech header(if you can find any info on it, the website couldn't get any more vague)/custom header, or the avenger supercharger(kenne bell twin screw kits). BTW, avenger has superchargers for the 4.0l, as well as the new 3.8l, newer 2.4l, and the old 2.5l.

GM to kill Corvette?!?!?!?!
Ry_Trapp01647545522 replied to RedRocket1647545505's topic in Passing Lane
nope. the corvette is one of GMs bigger money makers(not as much as the trucks, but one of the higher profit cars) because they sell so many each year(35k-40k per year). -
JP magazine has an article that lists turbo manufacturers for the jeep 4.0l, and i know that 2 of them were selling the manifolds seperate. i would give you the links, but the JP website is currently taking a shit.

while the yearly sales numbers for the G8 thus far are about equal that of the GTO, the G8 was intended to sale far more cars than the GTO because it's a family sedan with multiple configurations in mind. the GTO was a sports car, and a sports car only, but the G8 is being offered with 2 'affordable' V6s along with the 2 more expensive higher performance V8s. there are dealers offering $5k off to move this car. also consider that about 2,000 G8s are sold per month, while the grand-am it replaced sold about 12,000 per month. simply put, this is supposed to be a volume car, but it's selling like a niche car. if the G8 was solely a sports car, it's sales numbers probably wouldn't be bad, but it was intended to be a volume car.

i know some people with big 4 wheel drive trucks...

even after a 50% drop in sales last month, the GMC brand still out sold BMW, lexus, MB, subaru, audi, acura, pontiac, VW, and are only a few 100 vehicles away from beating the chrysler brand. and thats only 1 ton and lower vehicles. also consider that saturn sales sold about 65% fewer vehicles than pontiac, but pontiac has far far more cash pumped into it on a daily basis. i really wouldn't be surprised at all if the pontiac brand is in the red big time, simply because of how much cash is put in marketing. By the numbers: March 2009 the G8? BUST. for the second time, everyone says that they want the car from overseas, that it's so much better than anything currently offered. it arrives, and no one buys it. G8 sales are absoloutely terrible. take a step back and actually "think" about this decision for a second. the pontiac brand absoloutley sucks no matter how much anyone likes trans ams, G8s, GTOs, or solstices. either sell or die, and pontiac has been leaning towards the latter for a while.

M&H Racemaster vs. Mickey Thompson ET Streets Drag Radials

forgot to add, the evo performance(first GT500 in the 11's, 10's, 9's, 8's, 7's, lol) guys say that 17-18PSI in the tires is optimal for this car. -
contrary to what GMs media outlet says, they are going to kill pontiac. think about it, consider how much cash they put into marketing pontiac(quite a damn bit compared to some other brands), and the brand as a whole has never sold well in the past few decades. the G8, even though everyone said they would buy one as soon as it was announced, has been an epic sales flop. yet another australian import that everyone loves to look at, but no one wants to buy. the kappa platform that the sky and solstice are on is a very expensive platform, especially for the price of the cars. buick is the #1 selling automaker in china, no way is GM stupid enough to drop that money printer. GMC gets lots of fleet sales. although everyone likes to rag on fleet and rental sales, consider who would be getting those sales if GM didn't; the competition. simply put, the axing of pontiac is because pontiac sucks, no matter how good some of the cars are. it doesn't matter if they are offering a rolls royce for $20k, if it doesn't sell, it doesn't sell. look for saturn to quickly follow pontiac, as the euro rebadging plan isn't really increasing the sales(it's funny how people say they want something, then turn it down when its offered). hummer will be dropped as soon as they can find a buyer(c'mon tata!!!).

most of the guys at SVTP are running 305/35/18 MTs(for the track) or nittos(for the street). 305/45/18s with 4.10s is a great 1/4 combo for these cars. -

your missing my point. whether it was about emissions or fuel consumption, it wasn't about the furthering of the electric car. fact is, electric cars are one of the worst soloutions because of their expense. sure, they do the best job, but hybrids, diesels, etc. are FAR more realistic in the realm of cost. -

word it how you want, but CARB still eliminated the ZEV requirement and replaced it with the much more realistic and attainable PZEV, ULEV, and SULEV requirements. if CARB would have held their ground, all of the participating manufacturers would have continued to lose money on programs that were utterly pointless. if the governemnt(including under clinton) really cared, they would have helped fund these stupid expensive programs. fact is, the program is about lowering automotive emissions, not forwarding the development of electric cars. by not having balls and changing the program requirements, major steps in emissions reductions have been achieved without costing the car companies stupid amounts of money for a product that no one wants(gas prices went up last year, dealers were charging a mark up on the prius and it was selling like crazy. a few months later when gas prices dropped, dealers couldn't sell them at a discount. electric cars wouldn't be any different). -

its reagans and bushs fault that no one gives a fuck about electric car??? the GM EV1, ford ranger EV, chrysler TEVan, honduh EV plus, and toyota rav4 EV form the clinton era sure were succesful! i may just go down to my local dealer and pick one up! oh, wai... you want to know why these vehicles aren't around any longer? good ol' CARB. -
