Yes it does and I was thinking that to, but can that just happen on its own snd only make noise when braking?

I blasted everything off with some brake clean and lubed the slide pins. I was thinking maybe the caliper, but everything seemed to move fine, and truck stops fine to, no pulling or anything

Yea the wheel bearings are going to be my next check. Although it does drive fine with no vibration when turning or anything.

I say " brake" bc I'm not exactly sure what it is. It sounded like metal on metal from the front brakes. I pulled the wheels, the pads still had 50% or so left to them, but the owner wanted them replaced sinced they were still the originals (doesn't get driven all that much). Theres no pulsating or anything so I just visually checked the rotors and they seem to be fine. We just got back from driving it and the noise is still there. It only does it upon braking. Any ideas?

Hey 7 isn't a bad start lol

Last week I came home to a nice suprise of the transmission in my 2000 bonneville taking a crap. Talked to a friend of my dads who is trans guy at a gm dealership and explained the situation, and he's thinking pilot bearing. I guess these like to take other hard parts with it when they go, rebuilding might be to expensive. Assuming he's right, ill be looking for a used trans. Ill be getting it through some place with a warranty, to make sure its in good working shape. But Ive heard these trans had a lot of issues with the pilot bearing going bad, so I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to help prevent this from happening again? I've heard these had a lot of issues with heat? Don't know if the issues are related though.

In the few years I've been racing out there, this is the first I've heard of them.

Don't think I'm gonna make it this year. Out of 3 cars I own, I don't think 1 of them is up for the trip :-(

So I'm about 99% percent sure the trans just let go in my bonneville. I'm going to call hardshift tomorrow to see how much a rebuild might cost, but does anyone have any other recommendations? Also any good places to pick up used ones? And on another note, as I started to type this, I noticed a puddle starting to form under my olds, found a hole in the bottom of the radiator, wooo me! I fucking give up
