Defense definitely couldn't "handle" Alabama, Oregon or KSU (with Klein of course - any word on his injury yet?). But I think the offense would be able to make a game out of it against ND or KSU as far as teams ranked ahead of OSU in the AP are concerned. Bama doesn't have any kind of exotic offense that the defense would have problems with but they're just simply too good. OSU could probably put up 50 against Oregon but Oregon would put up 70...lol.

There have been plenty of bad 10-0 teams that this team could beat. Big East teams and other non-BCS conference teams who started off 10-0 or went even further just to be given a beatdown once they faced a real opponent. The thing is I don't think this OSU team would just lay down if they went up against one of the elite teams this year. I think they play down to their opponents but once the offense does decided to play against their weaker opponents they're hard to stop.

I hate prevent defenses.

BTW for those who don't know, Meyer really wants to basically be Oregon on steroids. OSU can and will attract higher caliber players. Plug them into a similar system with a little more capability to pound a win out if they have to and it should be very pretty to watch. Also, with today's 50+ points this OSU team is the first in program history to put up 50+ 4 times in a single season.

A guy I know who posts on another forum I go to works in "the industry" and says after talking to someone from production that this hype is absolutely justified. He's given lots of cool, little nuggets about different things in the past (TDKR, Breaking Bad and earlier TWD stuff) so I am now officially excited. This will probably lead to expecting way too much and hating the series forever.

Did you guys read the spoiler stuff posted in the comment section below the article? If that stuff is true I don't see how it would all fit into one episode. Again, after watching the awful, snail-paced season 2 it feels like we're getting gypped out of good stuff that actually deserves more screen time.

Ahh... only reason I asked Youngstown was because of the Stoops brothers. Got 2 of them coaching at Oklahoma right now and 1 down at FSU. Could have explained the connection.

Really thought you were wrong on this because I thought Tebow had a 1,000 yard season (either as a sophomore or junior) and thought the 1,000 yard rusher thing only applied to RB's under Urban. That's pretty crazy. I think if Hyde didn't get hurt and miss a couple games he could have come close too. Heck, if he has a few big games to finish the season he could still get there. But with Rod Smith showing well with his opportunities Carlos probably won't be getting 25 carries a game down the stretch.

Just insanely bad luck for the Terps. And add that they had their actual starting QB transfer to Wisconsin in the off-season so they've basically gone through 5 QB's. The OSU website lists 5 QB's. Never heard of the Levi Ratliff kid though (freshman walk-on). So if OSU lost the 5 listed QB's they'd probably go to walk-on LB Ross Oltorik (plays baseball and played QB in HS) or maybe Orhian Johnson. He had a couple offers out of HS to play QB (at Indiana and USF or UCF, one of the smaller FL schools).

I figured this would have more of an effect over here. I discuss the show with some other people on another forum and they're all "The Governor's bad ass!" and "Michonne's being a bitch!" She seemed irrationally paranoid at first but I think the scene with the Governor and his people taking out military for no good reason should have flipped everyone to "Michonne was right not to trust him" pretty quick. I think they were too eager to get the wall of heads on the show and did it too early. Then they didn't have the line from the comic "Fifty-seven channels and nothing on" that really starts to hammer home how twisted the Governor is. Like some of us who have read the comics have said before... it will be interested to see how much of the Governor stuff makes it to the show. And I can see why some of you aren't that interested in Woodbury because of the way it was introduced. The way Woodbury is brought into the story in the comics is very different from what happened in the episode.

PSU fans have some of the most easily rustled jimmies in the land. Every loss they suffer is because of the refs and they all talk about leaving the B1G because of it...lol. There was a thread on one of their forums shortly after our game saying the B1G was handing Michigan a win just like they handed OSU a win. Strange since Michigan ended up losing by 2 TD's and at no point in the game were they leading.
