A problem Stoney (and the other TE's who are still actually playing TE) are having is that Braxton isn't really seeing them just yet. I think Boren's been about as good as you could expect in an Urban offense. Something I noticed Saturday was how much just the regular RB's are blocking on plays for Braxton. Hyde was awesome not only running on that final drive but on the runs Braxton made down the stretch Hyde was destroying people. I don't know how much better a running threat Hyde (or even Hall) is over Boren right now (no one has busted a long one this season other than Braxton) but you'd have to think it's just a little better and helps keep a defense a bit more honest respecting those guys as runners. And there absolutely isn't a truly explosive playmaker on the offense other than Braxton right now. Smith is a good/decent deep threat but he's not a shifty guy at all (as evidenced by his awkward looking returns). Spencer is very similar to Smith but not as good so he's not playing much. I thought Philly might find a way to squeak into that role but he hasn't shown too much either. He seems to be a decent extension of the running game on the bubble screens. 4-5 yards a pop isn't stellar but it moves the chains and helps keep the defense spread out. Then as you mentioned, Hall (who would have been a very poor man's Percy Harvin anyways) has been out which has taken some things away from what Urban and Herman hoped to do. But like you said, EzE and Jalin come in next year (along with Jacobs who might need a year or so of strength training) and I think one of them will immediately fill the Percy role. Then the OL... have loved their play this year. Haven't really noticed them that much which is absolutely a good thing. No getting blown by by speedy DE's, not getting pushed back horribly by big DT's, not constantly getting called for false starts, no awful snaps, etc., etc. Then the way they dominated LATE in the game against the best defense OSU will play all season... a great testament to their attitude and conditioning.

http://i.imgur.com/YreAw.jpg I run 6 plays, split veer, like Novocain. Just give it time, always works.

But seriously, hope it's a good time. Don't let your Urban hatred come out too much. :gabe:

I miss the Mexicans who used to work the Chipotle by Walmart in Reynoldsburg. They could wrap a burrito like nobody's business. Uppity white folk in there now don't know how to handle that shit.

Given the :lolguy: at the end of my post... I'd say I'm super, super serial.

Cool picture of former Buckeyes on opposing NFL teams showing they still care about each other... http://i.imgur.com/y2bOr.jpg

Sounds like you're racist against Hispanic-Americans. :lolguy:

8 in the 2009 class is a little high but 4 in the 2010 class isn't awful I don't think.
-
2009 class Contributors 5* John Simon 4* Marcus Hall 4* Corey Linsley 4* Storm Klein (he's actually listed as the starter now... hasn't been terrible considering he missed 2 very important months for football because of the BS domestic dispute) 4* Jack Mewhort 4* Reid Fragel 4* CJ Barnett 3* Jordan Hall 3* Adam Bellamy (not going to call this kid a bust because I have no idea what happened in his personal life for him to stop football but he was much better than I ever expected in the time he did play) 3* Zach Boren 3* Kenny Guiton (coming in off the bench to keep the team marching down the field for that opening TD was huge even if he didn't do much more than pitch or hand off) Non-contributor 5* Melvin Fellows (injuries) 4* Jamie Wood 4* Corey "Pittsburgh" Brown 3* Adam Homan (just unfortunate to be in the same class as Boren) 3* Chris Fields Busts 5* Dorian Bell 4* Jaamal Berry (may have been great to have now with Urban...lol) 4* Duron Carter 4* Dominic Clarke (boy do I wish we still had him) 4* Jonathan Newsome (lol dick pills) 4* James Jackson 3* Sam Longo 3* Jordan Whiting 16 non-busts, 8 busts 2010 class Contributors 5* Andrew Norwell 4* Roderick Smith 4* Christian Bryant 4* Philly Brown 4* Carlos Hyde 3* Drew Basil 3* Bradley Roby 3* Johnathan Hankins Non-contributors 4* Scott McVey (injuries) 4* Jamel Turner (don't feel comfortable calling a kid who just couldn't escape his hood a bust) 3* Verlon Reed (liked what we saw out of him early last season before the injury - hope he makes it back at some point, not looking great though) 3* Darryl Baldwin NR Adam Griffin (considered putting him in Contributors because he made a good ST tackle this weekend which is more than I ever expected...lol) Busts 4* James Louis 4* TY Williams 3* Taylor Graham (only came here because of his dad really, not a fit in any way) 3* David Durham 13 non-busts, 4 busts

Think I'd go against you by taking Florida and WVU. LSU has had 2 sloppy/unimpressive wins the last 2 weeks and Florida has looked a lot better than I thought they'd be. Should be a great atmosphere in Columbus this week. First night game under Meyer, ranked opponent, maybe a vengeance factor for last season and Braxton going down/Bauserman throwing the game away. Have to believe Pelini wants this one BAD though. He would have killed for the OSU job and Meyer just swooped in and took it. And Martinez/Burkhead are scary for this defense. The defensive gameplan will be largely the same as it was for MSU (man up, make Martinez beat you with his arm) but Martinez is obviously much more experienced and slippery than Maxwell was for MSU.
-
Not sure who would have called for WVU to lose to Clemson due to a weak BE schedule when Clemson is in the ACC...lol. The ACC is like 2-14 in BCS games. And I agree with LJ. Texas isn't a great team. WVU could lose to them but I'd put TCU or Oklahoma ahead of them as far as having a chance to beat WVU.
-
WVU would lose to a team like Alabama something like 52-31. Just like they always do when they face a legit defense and still have their own defense going up against even an average offense (ie. LSU last season).

Wasn't sure if this was posted here yet or not but just watched it again and came to make sure it was. The Petrino bit... can't help but LOL every time. Gonna embed it to make sure EVERYONE OF YOU MOTHERFUCKERS WATCHES IT. It's that good.

That year was awesome. Thursday night games have been crazy for a long time but that year... USC clobbered us then goes and loses to a guy named Jacuzzi and Oregon State...lol. (yes I know his name wasn't actually Jacuzzi)

Yeah, if he legitimately has mono then not only is it more than a good reason to miss the rest of his season but could explain some shaky performances in the few games he did play. The combination of bad performances and suddenly deleting his Twitter though is a little suspicious. Big 2014 offer went out tonight to Gateway, PA safety Montae Nicholson. From Columbus, obviously Gateway is where we got Corey Brown (DB) and Dorian Bell from too. nevada already calling him to OSU. Pretty early but people are saying he's definitely a high 4-star, possibly 5-star recruit. 6-3, 200. Would love to get some of the kinds of safeties in the program like they seem to have every single year at Bama and LSU. Speaking of LSU's defense, nevada had his little get-together today with the "four wisemen of OSU football" which is rumored to include Archie Griffin and Earle Bruce. Obviously a lot of the questions from the people on the Scout forums were related to the defense and its poor performance thus far. According to them Urban was pretty close to landing John Chavis but LSU came through with a raise. Not sure if that was before or after failing to get Stoops but needless to say, Urban is working with his 3rd choice at best in Fickell/Withers. Those guys combined are making $1.2m. Chavis is at $1.1m. I'd say LSU is getting more bang for their buck right now. Could be a lot of turnover on the defensive side of the ball this off-season if things don't get improve a lot over the course of the year.
-
I guess his team is shit so he was just getting clobbered. Played St. Ignatius out of Cleveland and lost 49-13. Less than 50% completion, INT, no TD's. Don't think he played much of the 2nd half because they just didn't want him to get killed. Still funny/sad that he may be sitting out the rest of the season simply for protection.
-
He got beat up bad in the few games he did play this season. Deleted his twitter and his season is over because of "mono" supposedly. :dumb:

Have to be fed through a tube when Tatum is done with him. Really hope the defense figures shit out by the time OSU plays Michigan. Want them to be able to rape him.
-
Have probably watched more NFL already this year than all of last year because I want to see the refs fail and see the reactions from the players/coaches. Last night in Baltimore was fantastic. Loudest "BULLSHIT" chant I've ever heard after that illegal contact call on Baltimore. And now tonight, I missed the game but am tuned in now to watch the post-game reactions. So entertaining...lol.
-
Agreed. This is the kind of team OSU's defense is more apt to stop. Plus MSU's lack of a serious pass threat gives them even more ability to focus on Bell. The only way I could see them putting up more than 14-17 points is if their QB is on fire and torches OSU's secondary which isn't really impossible to see. Much more worried about what OSU's offense will be able to do against MSU's defense. This is the first defense OSU will face that I'd say is even above average. UCF was average, Cal was average to below average, UAB and Miami are obviously well below average. MSU is the best defense OSU will face all season.

Before the season started I thought @Wiscy and Michigan were the most losable with @MSU and Nebraska being next on the list. @MSU is probably the most losable now with Michigan and Nebraska being next up. Talking about losable games reminds me of last season when on other OSU/college football forums I posted OSU had 6-7 losable games and got ripped for it. :lolguy:
-
MSU is pretty one-dimensional. Maybe even more so than OSU is. You're right though, with the way OSU has been playing a loss would certainly not be surprising and a game that looks not too dissimilar from last year's wouldn't either.
-
OSU a 1-point underdog in East Lansing this weekend.
-
Up to 14 in the AP, Gameday in East Lansing for the game this weekend. Yes, the rest of CFB is essentially taking the weekend off for that to be anything close to the marquee game.
