JET Auto Group (highest rated car dealer on CR for a reason)
Doc1647545523 replied to Doc1647545523's topic in Sponsors
I will sleep in the vehicle two nights, max, and prolly not at all if the lodging gets worked out. I fit in the Renegade nicely with the rear seats folded forward, although it doesn't become perfectly flat. I'm a Toyota fan, but a 2017 4Runner TRD off road, still under warranty, would have run me twice the price I paid for the Renegade. An important goal was to be able to get out of the vehicle this summer with minimum depreciation. I feel I made the right choice. A month ago if you had told me that I would be buying a Renegade, I would have laughed at you. Things change. -
JET Auto Group (highest rated car dealer on CR for a reason)

Most likely it will be RNA RTIC -
Jordan and his company have been steadfast sponsors of Columbus Racing and generous contributors to each of the Rallies I've participated in. I've known for years what a great guy he was from the threads of satisfied CR customers as well from my personal experiences with him from the Rallies and track days. I never had the opportunity to do business with him until just a few weeks ago. I had a tough "order" to fill. I'm joining some Rally North America friends this June on an expedition to the Arctic -- at least as close as we can drive to the Northwest Passage of Hudson Bay. Some consider the Hudson Bay part of the Arctic Ocean (it is brackish) but it isn't above the Arctic Circle. I need a vehicle that will be reasonable to drive on the highways into northern Quebec, then can navigate the James Bay Road http://www.jamesbayroad.com/jbr/index.html then can off-road to the Bay. We may have to sleep in our vehicle due to the wildlife threats (polar bears, black bears, Caribou herds) not to mention the swarms of blackflies, mosquitoes and no-see-ums. My first inclination was to try to pick up a classic Range Rover, a Hilux, or a Defender, but the vehicle needs to be utterly dependable, as there are no services for hundreds of miles and no roll-backs to come to your rescue. There's no cell phone coverage and hundreds of miles between fuel points. Plus, have you priced a restored Defender lately? Outrageous. Furthermore, I never seem to own SUV's or trucks for any length of time due to never driving them. So I needed an off road capable vehicle I could sell at the end of the summer without taking a big hit. TL;DR I needed the perfect vehicle. Jordan delivered. I was skeptical about Jeep Renegades from the little I had heard from Jeep enthusiasts who considered them to be "not real Jeeps," and in fact they start out on the chassis of a Fiat 500. But the more I researched, the more impressed I became with the Renegade Trailhawk. JET had one such vehicle, but it sold just before I contacted Jordan. He told me he had a good source for these, though, and he would keep an eye out. Within a day he had located and I committed to buy this: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/front_zps9cc0eayh.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/rear_zps3yz17iwq.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/interior_zpss2z6hcdx.jpg A used 2017 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk, still under full bumper-to-bumper warranty, freshly serviced and detailed, color I wanted and equipment I wanted. Even with tax and fees, I was out the door at about 8k under MSRP. It's been great so far on-road, and I'm getting it fitted with the external gas cans and other equipment I'll need for the trip. Jordan took care of every detail and made the whole process fun and efficient. I continue to recommend him without reservation to you all and to my friends. Thanks, Jordan!

I think there is a good chance that Incyte Corporation (INCY on NASDAQ) will skyrocket over the next 3-4 months. I'm betting on it, but this should not be considered professional investment advice.

I know the seller and know the bike. It came regularly to Cars & Coffee. Fantastic deal on a perfect bike. GLWS Ben, and congrats to you and your wife.

Don't say "madness" as if it were a bad thing ..... some of us make a good living off of madness

FWIW: When this thread started five weeks ago, Bitcoin was selling at 5800. It just went over 12000. Very volatile. I've decided to sell a big chunk of mine, leave some in it for the long haul. Epic investing skills? Nope, just some dumb luck. Congrats to those of you who rode this ride.

Huntington checking has worked fine for me all along.

What vehicle features/options can you not "live" without?

The gizmos are great sometimes, but there's something to be said for the less is more side. -
Playing in the Streets, what's it take these days?

QFT .... and it's even more fun when you're great-grandpa-old and you honk it off and then put bus lengths on them, because they then have to explain to their buds how some geriatric in a luxury car showed them his taillights. -
No 1099's, but they have agreed to report transactions over 10k to the US govt.

I don't personally know of anyone mining them. As you can see from reading the thread, very few people have access to the resources to mine them profitably. China has taken a position against the use of Bitcoin, but many analysts look for China to reverse its position. China's decisions to use or to ban Bitcoin will have some effect of its value, but so far it has not been one of the biggest factors in what Bitcoin trades at.

Buying through coinbase.com. I never mined any.

If you will mainly be in Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum, coinbase.com is a reasonable choice for your wallet. You want as much security as possible. If you're considering getting into Bitcoin you may want to postpone things for another couple of weeks. Bitcoin has a hard fork coming up and even the analysts who are usually bullish on Bitcoin have been saying that it became overvalued when it hit 7600 this weekend. I liquidated 90% of my bitcoin Saturday to sit out the fork with plans to re-assess the situation after the hard fork. I hope to catch it after the adjustment. If I'm wrong and it doesn't drop, then I goofed, but I'll very likely still reinvest later this month. BTW, if you had bought Bitcoin when I suggested on October 27, a little over a week ago, and sold on Saturday when I did, you would have earned 30% on your gamble. Just an example of the volatility of which I spoke.

Anyone talk to Amy lately? Great car, perfectly modded. GLWS

I know I can't give a very good explanation of what values cryptocurrency. What I think I can say with confidence is that cryptocurrency investing is highly volatile and I strongly urge that anyone gambling in it be prepared to loose every cent you put towards it. Obviously, I'm okay with some gambling. Right now my investment amount has been fully recouped and withdrawn and what I've left at risk may very easily soon be worth more than all my other assets combined. No stock or commodity has ever done so much for me and so fast.

The mining aspect of it is not profitable enough to be worth considering by most. However, as an investor I've made some substantial money on bitcoin, ethereum and litecoin. I took profits out, but have kept a considerable amount in all three for the long term. At this point, I think everyone should own at least one bitcoin, but time will tell.

I haven't determined, but if that's an invite, maybe I'll head down in your convoy. I'll post something to this thread by Thursday.

Last meet of the season for Dayton Cars & Coffee, Saturday Oct 14
Doc1647545523 replied to Doc1647545523's topic in Events
Yeah, there's generally a pretty good variety of cars and the people are friendly, polite and welcoming. Brian (Coaster) and I went and enjoyed the near-perfect conditions. The crowd was smaller than I anticipated, but there were still probably 400 cars. -
This Fall the meet is at Beechbend Raceway in Bowling Green Kentucky Saturday Oct 21 and Sunday Oct 22. Weather permitting, I'm planning to drive down Friday. Anyone from here planning to attend? Any interest in a convoy? https://importalliance.org/

I'm meeting Cordell there sometime after 6, most roll in around 7. Be there or be square, boyos. Look for us on the patio.

Very nice pickup, no pun intended. Since you have one of your dream vehicles now, what is missing for its stablemate? Old school Mercedes SL? Aston Martin Vanquish? Skyline R33?
