  1. I'm thinking that you and Clay deserve your own sub-forum ...... also your own DSM V code
  2. I know it's old ... my apologies if it's a repost, but it's the first time I've seen it. DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE! Speaking of unrealistic car chase scenes, aren't we about due for another F&F installment?
  3. Welcome to CR. Lots of great folks on here, including fantastic sponsors like WheelMedic. Be careful parking that car at Dari Point, they're likely to decorate it like Papa Smurf. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/smurf_zpsnsvbkkfn.jpg
  4. Another vote for Hagerty. Beginning with my 1996 Bentley Turbo RL, which various companies would insure, Hagerty had the lowest premium compared to a half dozen other companies, and they used agreed-upon value. When it came time to insure the 2006 Flying Spur, Hagerty was the only company that would insure it. Same happened with the 2014 Speed. The only thing which might be an issue for some customers is that on all three of those cars the premium had to be paid in one lump sum for one year in advance. I'm not sure if that was a condition just on my policy for some reason (e.g., advanced age of driver, high value car) or if that is true for all such policies at Hagerty. Another feature I like about Hagerty is that when I call the national office, I quickly get to a friendly rep. Hope this helps.
  5. At 7 a.m. I'd be surprised that there were even 5 cars at the gate. If the weather's good, and turn out will be high, the long waiting begins around 8 ish. I've only had to wait at the road once, and that was on a big turnout day and I got there about 8:30, and I waited about 40 minutes on the road. When I've been in the car show, they've let me through at 7, no waiting.
  6. Scott says a good number of people have contacted him about attending. There is an electrical issue interfering with the entrance hallway lighting and one restroom, but temporary lighting will be up. My office and garage aren't affected. Things just look a little jankier than usual as you first come into the building.
  7. QFT It's not much specific help, but perhaps you'll find this interesting: http://jalopnik.com/5977634/the-stealthiest-cop-cars-on-the-road-today Also, fwiw, this summer on the rally I did 5600+ miles through the West and hardly saw any enforcement. Of course, you increase your chances of a roadside chat if you stick to interstates and blow the doors off everything you pass. It seems as though a number of fellow motorists are happy to phone in reports of "race cars driving recklessly." I would also think that on interstates your chances of being caught from air surveillance would be greater than being caught by an unmarked police car.
  8. I've always liked those cars, and you definitely got the right color. We're lucky to have someone like Jordan associated with CR. He's given such great deals to the members here. And I appreciate that when it comes to supporting good causes, Jordan and JET always come through.
  9. Glad to hear so many people got there to enjoy it. I had no takers, so it wasn't an issue for me. We would have met up the road, so as to avoid the traffic. The trip was awesome, one of my most enjoyable since I've had the Slingshot. I ended up riding for 4 hours. It was a great end to an epic long weekend of exceptional weather for February.
  10. I'm headed out for a country drive around Mad River Mountain, Mac-O-Chee Castle, Valley Hi, and the like. Taking the Slingshot. If anyone wants to tag along in a car or on a bike, you're welcome to. Meeting at 1 p.m. near the Zoo. Text or post if interested. 740-405-5565
  11. That Panther's in great condition and is clearly worth more than your asking price. I'd get it myself, but I've got a 1999 P71 with 185k miles, gets beat on regularly, and is showing no signs of failing anytime soon. GLWS
  12. Another beautiful day. This would be a great time for something like the Alum Creek gatherings .... anyone know if something like that is happening in the area?
  13. Yeah, got moved to Chantry Dollar Store.
  14. Yep, this seems to be an epic February weekend for car guys. In a twist of irony, there were more burnouts and engine revving at CC&C this morning than at last night's East Side meet despite about the same number of cars. I'm interested in seeing what the turnout will be at Moo Moo in a few hours.
  15. Fun times at QSL tonight, it was good to see you guys. Over a hundred cars turned out at the East Side Meet, including a few fast cars. From what I observed, it was pretty sedate--minimal burnouts and no loud stereos. I saw about a dozen CR members. People seemed pretty happy to be able to get their cars out.
  16. I've got a table for six on the left side as you come through the front door.
  17. I've heard behind the E. Broad Moo-Moo at Saturday at 4, then Fort Rapids at 9 or 9:30.
  18. I'm good with tonight for food. QSL at 6:30? 7:00?
  19. Are you talking about tonight or Saturday, Nick?
  20. Warm (50's-60's) and dry for this three-day weekend, hard to expect more from mid-February in Ohio, so what is happening? QSL tonight at 7:00, eating indoors. (check) Saturday morning, Columbus Cars & Coffee at Lennox (check) Washing cars, bringing cars out of winter storage (check) Car meet Saturday 4 p.m. behind Moo Moo car wash on E. Broad. (check) Car meet Saturday 9 :30 pm Dollar Store 5777 Chantry Drive, off Brice Rd. Car meets anywhere else? Does the Hangout need to open? Post the plan, Stan.
  21. Very fine car. I like these better than the BMW 7-series, and I've owned both. I'm thinking it just needs some Rally stickers.
  22. I liked the original rendering better: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1744815&postcount=45
  23. I can't describe in general or abstract terms what makes a car design appeal to me. But as Potter Stewart famously said of hard-core pornography, "I know it when I see it." In 2012 there was a CR thread on cars we find appealing. Here were my votes: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1554770&postcount=60 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1554771&postcount=61
  24. If you'd like to talk to someone about local prospects for new bartenders, a friend of mine owns the Columbus Bartending School, I'd be happy to give you her contact info, Mike. I think she could give you the pros and cons of picking up the work part-time, whether you have an interest in getting formal training or not.
