  1. I'd just leave them outside in an hour or two ....... I think they'll get plenty of rinsing ........ at least Delaware and Marion is going to get hit with some heavy rain. Let's hope it misses most of Franklin County.
  2. Be careful, whatever takes you onto the roads this weekend. It's the deadliest weekend of the whole year. And there's bound to be lots of po-po's around. Come to think of it, I better come out tonight just to make sure you boyos aren't up to any shenanigans.
  3. PM Littleguy. He's the master at this kind of work.
  4. I'd recommend MD Transmission in Delaware. They're right across from my shop. Top notch quality, usually beat everyone's price. They've done work on my Viewt, Toyota Century, and Mercedes. Mark or David: (740) 363-0054
  5. Welcome, Ellis. Good intro. Seems that you're joining for the right reasons. There's certainly a lot to learn about cars from the members here. I hope to see you out at some meets & events. I like the look of your Tib, BTW. + rep
  6. Sorry, no group rates. As it is, I've priced it very close to cost. Any lower and I'd be losing money. See, it's based on oil prices. Crude has jumped 30% in the last few years. Of course I can refer you to testimonials from previous clients. For the sake of privacy, of course, I can't give you their names. However, here is a thumbnail sketch of their stories: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/dalai-lama_5312.jpg This poor, unfortunate foreign guy had a dreamworld populated with small furry animals. But they were evil, not unlike the rabbits in Monty Python's Holy Grail movies. He was terrorized. Utterly a wreck. Then he came to me to interpret his dream for him. I did, and I understand he's gone on to reclaim the happiness he'd lost. He's a monk with some religious group, I'm told. Makes the big bucks, travels a lot. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/brad-pitt-bloody-nose.jpg This poor schmuck repeatedly dreamt that a slug had crawled into his nose and was eating into his brain. He picked his nose constantly, even to the point of bleeding. His last psychiatrist gave him a bicycle helmet to strap on his face to remind him not to pick his nose, but that didn't work. Two sessions with Doc and the mystery of his nightmares was solved. He's never had another. He went on to a career in TV or acting or something. He credits his confidence in dating beautiful women to those two sessions of therapy he had with me. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/imagesCA7NEON2.jpg This patient I'll never forget. He came into my office and announced, "I have a dream!" I told him he ain't no Martin Luther King, just have a seat ..... the session don't start till your credit card confirmation comes back. Ended up, he didn't need dream therapy at all. He had undiagnosed narcolepsy. I put him on some meds so he could stay awake more than 10 minutes at a stretch and now I hear he's gone on to some cushy job as a public official. So .......... don't think of it as spending 34 large ...... think of it as an investment in your future!

  10. I've been working with Truckin' to carpet the clubhouse. He came highly recommended. You might want to drop him a PM.
  11. I had a great time, although I stayed away from the track side of the event. It's hard enough for me to get the car clean and keep it clean for judging without going back and forth to staging/running on the track/re-cleaning. I met four CR senior members I'd never seen before on the car show side, but still didn't meet some of the bracket racer members (mostly my fault for not introducing myself). Congrats Crawdad on the win. You've also got a really nice racing rig there. Here's a thread I made for pics: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=95702
  12. A big crowd, and lots of cars in the car show section: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Import%20Face%20Off%202011/DSCN0332.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Import%20Face%20Off%202011/DSCN0317.jpg A few of my personal favorites: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Import%20Face%20Off%202011/DSCN0324.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Import%20Face%20Off%202011/DSCN0322.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Import%20Face%20Off%202011/DSCN0323.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Import%20Face%20Off%202011/DSCN0319.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Import%20Face%20Off%202011/DSCN0318.jpg Not sure why this appeals to me, but it does: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Import%20Face%20Off%202011/DSCN0325.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Import%20Face%20Off%202011/DSCN0326.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Import%20Face%20Off%202011/DSCN0327.jpg Of course, while the CR bracket racers were trying to figure out how slow they had to drive their cars to not "break out," some of us were working hard trying to keep a black car clean on a windy day (First Place, Exotic Car Category): http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Import%20Face%20Off%202011/DSCN0334.jpg
  13. Feel free to add your own photos to this thread. Mine are just snapshots of some scenes that I found interesting. 16 CR members in their own "special" lane: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Import%20Face%20Off%202011/DSCN0328.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Import%20Face%20Off%202011/DSCN0331.jpg I heard 3 little boys yell, "Daddy, Daddy, there's a wrecked car in the line!" I turned to see what they were pointing to, only to discover it was Eman's pride and joy: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Import%20Face%20Off%202011/DSCN0330.jpg I wondered if I would have the only Bentley in the car show. Nah. Another one showed up, but I didn't think it was quite as nice as mine: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Import%20Face%20Off%202011/DSCN0321.jpg Hard for me to capture well in a photo, this car was pretty striking, with all the different colors going on: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Import%20Face%20Off%202011/DSCN0315.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Import%20Face%20Off%202011/DSCN0316.jpg
  14. Yep, just two narrow-angle VR6's joined at the crankshaft: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/bentleyw12.jpg As you look down on the engine from above, it appears to be a narrow-angle V-12, but much, much shorter than a 6L V-12 could be. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/images-2.jpg
  15. I'm out, but thanks for your efforts at organizing this. It was a good plan.
  16. Good intro and welcome. I hope you can get out to some of our meets. + rep
  17. I'm in if it's heads up and if the times we can run don't conflict with the car show, because I'm entered in both.
  18. If CR has four or more people drag racing (and not looking to win in another class), I'd be up for this. I'd rather my entry fee go to a CR member than to someone I didn't know.
  19. You might want to mention to him that the track closes before 3 a.m.
  20. You were one of the few high points of the evening, Shanton. It was a shame that CR didn't have more of our classic characters in attendance, but then, the DSM/EVO shootout and Cleveland Racing groups clearly only had their "B team" players out. I'm glad I went, just to see their meet-up place and to see that their scene isn't much different than ours: over-policed, lots of small groups standing around only talking to themselves, very little action, parking lot lights get turned off. It was fun meeting some new people, but waiting for stragglers/getting our group rolling was ridiculous. By 2 a.m. there had been two races, right? I'll go up again sometime, but we need to make sure everyone has their varsity on the field and we need to arrive before their people start going home for the night.
  21. I have found this little book a big help in planning motorcycle tours around Ohio (and it will work equally well for your purposes). It specializes in the restaurants/bed & breakfasts/attractions that other guides seem to have overlooked. It seems to find the really great places before they get "discovered" by the public at large: http://www.amazon.com/Ohio-Off-Beaten-Path-12th/dp/0762750510/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1313936215&sr=1-1 (Ignore the one user review ..... the user must have been expecting a AAA Tour guide book)
