  1. Hey, I resemble that remark http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/images.jpg
  2. Believe me, you don't want to know what's in the trunk of this beast
  3. but tonight, heated seating for 9 could prove popular
  4. I'm trying to decide if it's finally time to introduce the limo of death to ricetown ..... http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/limophoto.jpg
  5. You're "pretty new." No shit, Sherlock. What, you only have one photo of your car, and that's when it's about to flip over? I doubt that's even your car. No lightly modded TA can even do that. You FAIL. You need pics in your intro, preferably pics with babes in them. What are you, a homo? We've got our quota here, thanks, go away. 13.3 @ 197? What, did your POS F-body stall at 60 foot? Typical. And nitrous is for RICERS. Do us all a favor and go kill yourself now. 10 neg rep points for you, and I'm giving you that because it's the max I can give you. If you ever grow up, which I highly doubt, and you want to come back, get yourself a real car, a Buick, like I drive. Then there'll be at least an infinitessimally small chance you can join here. :gtfo:
  6. I've subscribed to Winding Road for about a year and I've enjoyed it more than the automotive print mags I subscribe to. You can sign-up here for free: http://www.nextautos.com/Winding-Road-Magazine I have not noticed any increase in spam or other unwanted contacts since I've registered with the magazine. The magazine deals with future performance models, test drives of high-performance street cars, a little automotive history, favorite roads, readers' letters, and the other usual stuff from a car magazine. The photos are great, and there are numerous video links. The only complaint I have about the magazine is that about every other page is an ad (many of them are repetitive), but it's easy to skip past the ads. After you register, you get an email once a month inviting you to click a link to view the current issue. No doubt a few of you on CR already subscribe, but I've been surprised how many of you I've talked to who had never heard of it. Feel free to post good/bad comments about the magazine on this thread. Enjoy!

  8. chicken strips = bands of unworn rubber along the edges of the tire of a bike that's never been leaned very far into turns. (just look at my bike for examples)
  9. Just say no to transitors Go with the "old school" of amps: vacuum tube single-ended triode. Fussy, expensive, low-power ..... but on the other hand, in the case of thermonuclear war, they continue to work. And when would you need music so much as after there's been a thermonuclear blast in a neighborhood near you? http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/stereo/singleendedtriodeamp.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/stereo/topofamp.jpg
  10. Hmmm. You may want to check with Mudcrutch before you claim that it wasn't an eventful night..... he experienced a major paradigm shift after his Lotus "sign and drive" experience.

    Bored Fri.

Will join you at Red Robin if I can sit by Brittany and not you.
  12. I would think that you'd have to be given the vehicle's drag coefficient in order to do such a calculation.
  13. It all works for me. That feeling of power is soooo addictive.... and no amount ever seems really enough:
  14. Wonderboy owns an AK-47? I guess I had better take-back my earlier comments about his Schwinn ...
  15. QFT And remember, he said that most of this was done by a previous owner of the car. He's willing to learn about tuning and racing. I'd say give the guy a chance.....
  16. I think at least some of the cost of the repair should be shared by whomever you were racing when this happened. Do you remember who was in the other lane, pressuring you to push it too hard?
  17. I have to concede that I'm impressed with these test results. It's quite possible that the Cobalt actually is a better track car than the Elise. My question to you is this: Do you figure that beautiful women will approach you and ask you for rides in your Cobalt? Let's talk about "stimulating every aspect of your enthusiast senses." + rep for a provocative article
  18. It's too bad that happened to your friend. But I'm puzzled. You're joining Columbus Racing because you want more information about a mugger whom you suspect knows a guy who lives somewhere near Jeg's? How could we help you beyond what the police can do with this information?
  19. It was really fun riding with you guys--it was such a great day. Paul, you looked really mean in those banked turns at ....ahem .... higher-than-recommended speeds. And Carl, you were able to stick right with the bikes (not an easy thing to do today). I hope my riding didn't cramp your styles too much. I love showing people those roads. We'll put something together again soon, maybe with a little more advance notice. We'll be getting some fall color here soon.
  20. I'm getting off the 'puter now. Just for clarification: I'm meeting at 2 p.m. today at the corner of Riverside Drive and Glick Road, in front of the old Wyandotte Inn which is on the east side of Riverside Drive where the old entrance for the Columbus Zoo was and where the entrance to Wyandot Lake is. Anyone is welcome, but if you bring a car, please don't run over us motorcyclists You can ride fast or slow, it'll be impossible to get lost on the route I've laid out, and we'll wait on you at the route turns if you feel like riding it slow or if you have a passenger. Ride your own ride and within your limits. Carpe diem!
  21. yeah, and your Schwinn will keep up with the Ducati about as well as your Nissan keeps up with the Benz :grin2:
