Thanks for the post. Really takes me back. I remember these twin redheads from Cincy ....

There's a lot of truth in the warnings in this thread. I bought a 1998 750iL, which I realize is a slightly different beast than you're asking about, and it was the worst new car I ever owned at any price. And it was 98k new. Many problems with the electronics. I drove the car over 2 years and was never so happy to get rid of a car. If you're dead set on getting a used BMW of that vintage, I'd lean towards the 5 series, or an M5 or M3.

Well, you're the sort of guy who just isn't selling ..... from my business dealings with you when you were at your old job, you're trying to help the customer with what he or she needs. You could look at it as selling, but you're really helping. That's the way most of your customers will feel.
-
Congrats on the new job. You're waaaaay too good a mechanic to not be wrenching on cars.

I don't think you could ask for any warmer Ohio winter day. The thermometer on the bike showed 68. If they wouldn't ride this afternoon, they'll prolly have to wait until June until the weather suits them. A little air in the tires, some fresh gas, and I rode about 50 miles, mostly on highway. I was surprised by how few bikes were out and around (saw 3 in about two hours). Roads weren't too wet, although of course I seemed to have found every bit of mud on the central Ohio roadways. I guess it needed a wash anyway.

once the streets dry out here in Delaware, I'm riding. (It's a funny Duc -- it doesn't like the water)

Sort of a ..... My Dinner With Andre I imagine ....

The story of Kenny's life? Not really. For this to be your story, it should include the following elements: 1- Threatening the weatherman for not warning you that it might stop raining, then start again 2-Berating Mother Nature for being such a bitch 3-Riding the R6 and falling off 4-Yelling at the fast food clerk because you're wet and you're being made to wait 35 seconds for your food 5-Posting on CR that you plan to sue the National Weather Service conspiracy for "tricking" you into riding in the rain 6-Concluding that Global Warming is a hoax since you're now cold Other CR members may of course feel free to add further story ingredients for this to truly be Kenny's Life Story

Well, there's something to be said for a slow fuck ..... Wait a garsh darn minute ..... are you slamming old people? I for one resemble that remark. Wait. I'm confused. Is this the thread is it it a PM? Who moved my walker?!

Yeah, I got your number buddy. I got it right here for ya

Now, if you could only have Paul re-type this for you, we'd have an encryption that the Pentagon couldn't break.
-
Yeah, sounds like it was good riding around Columbus. It's been wet here in Delaware since 10 a.m. Not raining right now, but streets still wet.
-
Guilty as charged. It's not been too windy here in Delaware, but it's been raining since 9 a.m.
-
The wind advisory issued by the National Weather Service has now moved slightly west and north of us, but they are still forecasting fairly windy conditions and now there's a better chance of rain. It's now too dicey to plan for this ride. If there's a break on the radar and the wind's not too bad, I'll be out around town for a shorter ride, then it's back under the cover for the Duc. If I see another opportunity this winter for a ride, I'll post again.
-
It may not be too bad if the commute is in-town. But if we really get the wind that's forecast, then I'm not gonna be out in the open countryside, swooping through the twisties. :bs: Come to think about it, I don't really "swoop" even under the best of conditions. It's more like an uncontrolled tumble, then a clumsy recovery.

Well, if you do go out tomorrow afternoon, watch that wind! Imagine a 40 mph gust hitting us when we were leaned over in that heavily banked 25 mph curve on SR203 last October. I would have very likely become a greasy smear on the road.
-
Bad news: The National Weather Service issued a severe wind advisory for our area for Sunday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Winds are forecast to be 20-25 mph with wind gusts of 40 mph. Not the kind of weather I ride in if I'm given the choice. I will check the forecast again Sunday morning and post what I find. I will probably be out early for a short ride around Delaware (if the winds are calm) since the bike really needs to get out, but I don't want to encourage anyone to do any spirited riding in the afternoon in such tempestuous weather. No doubt a few of you are bolder than me. "There are old bikers and there are bold bikers; but there are NO old, bold bikers. Watch for an update by yours truly around 8 a.m. Sunday.
-
yeah, actually it DID need to go out for a thrashing, but I took it out today when I saw the roads were relatively clean. I'll keep you in mind for next time it needs its rev limiter tested for endurance.

Wanna borrow a bike for the day?
-
Wow! It's going to be brisk early in the morning. Stay warm. I figured we'd be in the 40's by noon. They're forecasting 50 by 4 p.m. provided it doesn't rain.

Much closer than the other suggestions, and with some very good December prices: http://www.innathoneyrun.com/ The honeycomb complex is very private, great views of snow-covered hills, private fireplace, you can have all your meals served in your room. Main lodge is very relaxing, few guests.

Sunday looks like it's going to be a reasonable day to bring the Ducati out for a December ride. Predictions are for a partly-sunny day with a high temp of 50. I'm thinking of riding the triple niner north from the Zoo along the Scioto River on SR 257 up to US 42, then over to my (heated) garage in Delaware for a warm-up, then riding south on SR 315, stopping off near I-270 somewhere for coffee. Anyone else up for a "leisurely" ride? I'll be at the old entrance to the Zoo, parked right along Riverside Drive in front of the old Wyandot Inn (near the big red "Columbus Zoo" sign on Riverside Drive). I'm thinking noon would be a good departure time, which should put us back in Columbus for coffee between 2 and 4 p.m., depending on how long you want to lollygag in my garage. I have plenty of motorcycle clean-up supplies, chain lube, air compressor, and the like if you need to spruce the bike up a bit before putting it back to bed for a winter nap. Post here or send me a PM if you're interested. If you decide to go, check the thread again Sunday morning in case the weather forces a change of plans. __________________

'mater, kiss your chances of joining CR goodbye, you drift fag ricer! Fortunately for CR, we have some very astute members continuously scouring popular children's media on the lookout for such incriminating evidence ..... In a chat room I heard that Lightning McQueen and 'mater first hooked up through a Craig's List ad. Paul, Phil, I know you guys peruse CL a lot ..... have you seen either of these fags on there? (Although we can hardly blame 'mater for being on Craig's List -- someone prolly told him it was the best place to find a pickup.)
-
Yeah, you're right. I thought that maybe putting it in another language would soften the insult a bit, but it was still pretty mean-spirited. I'm counting on TE7two not waking up before noon, and by then, let's hope all this is buried deep enough he won't see it.

This is your nice car? Que lastima. Lo siento mucho.
