My back hurts just watching that clip

What a coincidence. Just a few weeks ago I was posting my opinion of those guys on the Toyota Century owners forum. I hope none of my buddies from that forum there had anything to do with this ........ Interesting group, those Century owners.

http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/9781250028082_zps5149b97c.jpg Steve Ulfelder, novelist and co-founder of Flatout Motorsports launches his third novel this May. Some of you met him at the open house at the hangout in October: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=106521&highlight=ulfelder or know of him from his first two novels, Purgatory Chasm http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1484285&postcount=4 or The Whole Lie http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103431 He'll be in Delaware May 18th at a booksigning during Ohio Wesleyan's Alumni Weekend and I suspect he'll wander over to the hangout to meet with anyone from CR interested in an inscribed book. From critically acclaimed, Edgar-nominated author Steve Ulfelder—Conway Sax is back in a thrilling and heart-wrenching story of how far a father will go to save his son Conway Sax is a man seeking redemption. A man with a deeply checkered past currently paying for his sins by helping Gus Biletnikov stay sober. Wise-ass Gus, son of a wealthy investment banker, drives Conway nuts. But he also reminds him of his own estranged son, and so Conway finds himself deeply invested in his wellbeing. When a brutal triple-murder takes place in Gus’s halfway house, Conway suspects Gus was the intended victim, and resolves to find the killer in his usual full-tilt, no-holds-barred fashion. The list of suspects soon includes the longtime organized-crime warlord of Springfield, Massachusetts; Gus’s own father, who’s a bundle of insecurity despite his fortune; the father’s second wife, a stunning beauty webbed in ugly motives; and a Houston con man who’ll swipe your gold fillings but crack you up while he does so. But the case is no laughing matter to Conway when somebody close to him is murdered. To find the killer and prevent yet more senseless death, he needs help from both an ambitious Brazilian-American state cop, and an unlikely criminal source. Along the way, Conway’s personal responsibilities clash with his vow to help fellow alcoholics, forcing him to make his toughest decision yet in this crisply written page-turner reminiscent of Robert B. Parker and Dennis Lehane. As dark, soulful and violent as the title would suggest. There’s a real lullaby and some real shotguns. -Kirkus I'll post more details on the event as the date approaches.

I would. You don't want to spend more more than you have to. There were guys in NC who went as low as 8 psi to get what they needed, but I didn't have to go lower than 15 iirc. Some of the treads are better at digging, whereas the people doing the best had tires with less bite and better at spreading out and "floating" on the sand. I'm not an expert on any of this--I'm just relating what worked best for me and what I observed others doing.
-
If you were in the sand that you pictured with the same tire pressure that you appear to have in the truck photo, then you need to serious deflate those tires. If you're not already doing that, you might want to try it before spending the time and effort on swapping diffs. When I was chasing the blues along the Outer Banks, I would deflate to 15 lbs on the sand, then re-inflate when back on pavement. I spent a week doing that and never got stuck, or even slowed down, in a 4wd pickup which spent the majority of the time in 2wd. My .02

You noticed the photo but not the thread I guess: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=111085

Welcome to CR. Hope you make it out to some events and meets, some of which happen right in Delaware.

It's a lot of work setting up events, track days and the like. I think everyone appreciates the work Anthony, Tina, Brian V8, and Wags have done to make these things happen for us. I'm wondering if it might make things easier if we used the forum calendar function better Most big productions such as the SCCA events, Import FaceOff, Good Guys, ECTA, and the major car shows publish their dates six months to a year in advance. If someone would take on the task of gathering the info and posting it onto the CR calendar, it might make the CR event planning process easier. That's not to say that there still wouldn't be conflicts, but it doesn't hurt to have all the info convenient and in one place. Then, if you want to promote your favorite event and it isn't already on the CR calendar, you could PM the Calendar Coordinator and he or she would post it for you. And if you see there's a good weather weekend coming up and you want to know about car events, there's one place to check instead of having to search through a bunch of threads that might not have been bumped for weeks. Wasn't Jon L supposed to be doing this at one time? I'm willing to help gather the info for someone who wants to be in charge of it. Just my .02

When I show up in a beater, I just stand next to one of Tom's cars and tell everyone it's mine. :masturboy: -
cash in hand, send a pic (PM sent at 6 p.m.)

Taking delivery of a new bike now almost guarantees us another 6 weeks of nasty weather. Thanks a lot.

I came up on that LFA tonight on 315 north in the Bentley. Couldn't coax him to race, but got a smile from the driver (dealer plates).

What's all this hatin' on Volvos? http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/volvo_zps842d09b5.jpg

Quite impressive. that is, until you unlock another dimension by converting to RWD, then the laws of physics recede faster than my hairline

the part is called a swingarm, and this bike has a single-sided swingarm not sure if trolling, just a typo, or if you were a hooked-on-phonics guy

I don't think any amount of modding is going to make the Shadow into the bike you want. That CB1000r is a strong bike. If money is a factor, you may want to check what your insurance company is going to want for an annual premium on that. It might shock you how much more it is than for the Shadow.

I think Patterson's rendition better captures the spirit of the subject, although they're all eye candy.

Patterson, ahem ....... the wheels? Don't let a detail keep it from being professional.

I have three routes that start from Delaware and keep you on interesting, lightly-travelled winding roads and do not require you head east or south into or around Columbus. Some of the stops include the best hamburger on earth, the Piatt Castles, an abandoned monastery in the middle of a cornfield, a reproduction of a French street in a little Ohio village, canal locks, caverns, Grand Lake St. Mary's, Russell's Point, Kaiser Lake, all on a 1-2 hour loop from Delaware. The routes are carefully laid out. PM me and I can either take you on them or give you my route guide. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/cycle/TheInnatVerseilles_zps1400d1e7.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/cycle/StCharlesoftheCorn_zps385435bc.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/cycle/piatt1_zpsf87d233b.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/cycle/piatt2_zpsa25cf106.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/cycle/piatt3_zpsa6c7fff5.jpg Holmes County is a different direction and a bit longer ride, but has some great roads as well.
