  1. Yeah. I'm sure it's been done. Actually, a lot of last minute call in fighters have reported cutting drastic amount in a short time but they usually get whalloped due to lack of preperation and fatigue. The toll it takes on the body is crazy I think. I know for my buddy, and this may be just him and his style, he fights at 145 and walks around at 155. He tries not to get above that. If he's going to fight he starts months in advance prepping his body.

I dunno though. I'm no fighter or trainer. I've lost a ton of weight but to drop that 20 in less than 24 hours seems crazy.

from the weigh in's tonight it definitely looked like chaels face was all drawn in. usually when they look like that you see fatigue set in as the fight goes on. anderson looked more normal.

    we will see.

  2. I know they cut weight, but 20 pounds? Jeez.

I thought that same way. originally thought it was impossible but after research I guess its not.

Thats still more than you want to cut atleast from what Ive seen/read.

  3. For the past 3 years the car had a poor performing VF engineering RSS GT2871 kit paired with GIAC software. It was never what I wanted. Never made the power it was supposed to. (~320whp) Never drove the way it was supposed to. This year I decided to try another round of upgrades. I got in contact with Arnold @ pag parts out of new york. He put together custom kit for me. I had alot of parts already on the car so swapping to newer/bigger parts was a pretty easy upgrade.

    powertrain mods

-stock FSI block w/ balance shafts intact

    -stock pistons

    -stock intake manifold

    -brute connecting rods

    -9.5:1 c/r head gasket

    -vband stainless exh manifold

    -vband turbosmart comp-40 wastegate

-GT3071 with billet wheel upgrade and TIAL vband exh housing

    -3.5" mafless intake

-3" catless exh with APR/Corsa CB

    -RS4 injectors

    -APR upgrade HPFP

-RS4 upgrade fuel pressure relief valve

    -custom intank walbro 400

-Labonte stage 3 w/m with dual nozzles

    -VFE twin intercooler

    -Turbosmart E-boost 2 EBC

    -Eurodyne Maestro Tuning Suite

Ive got plenty of other suspension/brake and drivetrain mods but I think thats all the important stuff.

Just got the car back up and running a week or so ago on the new software. Havent had to make any adjustments so far except for the warm up enrichment and the cold part throttle is a bit jerky.

Big thumbs up to Brian Turner at DynoTune Motorsports for getting me on the rollers in 2 days notice.

Dyno chart is on 26 psi where I decided to stop. 93 octane plus w/m. I dont have easily switchable timing maps so I decided to keep the race map on the car. I think it would have made high 300's on strictly pump gas.

Overall Im real happy with the numbers. Its more than I expected for the most part. I know its capable of more. >500hp but with stock pistons I dont want to chance a broken ring land with more timing/cylinder pressure. Ill possibly upgrade those at some point If I want more.

Engine bay isn't very pretty but its not a show car. Its a driver.

  4. jones is right.

you gain "static" camber by lowering it due to McPherson strut design.

You wont need more than 2* on your car. I ran closer to 3* but have backed it down due to lack of traction. f 2* r1.5* will be fine. dumb to run more until you get a stickier tire/race more.

  5. The car is a 2007 GTI

I put a quaife in my 02Q 6 speed trans last year. Its a clamshell style trans that holds the dif between the halves. The shims behind the races are supposed to be removed and the trans reassembled and then shims added to set the correct tollerance.

I just put the dif in with new bearings with no shimming.

The bearings have since gotten noisy.

I dont have the tools to do the jobs correctly.

Im looking for someone that has done these before.

Id be pulling the trans and just supplying the trans w/dif installed already and new bearings.

If anyone is interested in doing the job let me know.

Worse case theres a guy in lima that will do it but Id rather have someone/shop do it in the columbus area.

  6. had the galaxy nexus for about a week now. ordered it with the extended battery. Im coming from a droid x which was 2 years old.

    Inititial Impressions:

    Pro's:

-awesome look (I just really dont like the squarish cut off corner look to the razr)

-awesome screen (720P netflix is very cool)

    -ICS works well

-going dual core feels like I bolted a turbo onto my droid x

-extended battery without the bulk looks nice vs. other larger batteries on other phones

-better battery life than my droid x

-front facing camera (for mirror pics of course)

-no hard buttons keep the front clean. I dont really miss them either

-similar phone size to razr but with larger screen

    -removable battery for swapping

-4g/wifi browsing is awesome with dolphin/stock browser

    cons:

-signal strength is lower than with the motorola radio (not just shown but measured)

-sometimes drops data coverage when outside 3g. This is fixed by turning the 4g off.

-looks huge and bulky with a case. gonna possibly try a "carbon fiber" skin

-plastic case so wont be as durable as the X without some sort of protection.

-no sd card. plenty of space just be nice to have the ease of transfering files instead of being connected as MPT device.

Overall Im happy with it. Gonna keep my eye on whether it drops calls or not. I dont use much talk time so it shouldn't be an issue. Hoping software updates may help the reception and switching issues.
