  1. Been using it for a year or so. Was using tversity before that.

Had been using chromecast to stream it all but sometimes the android app is flaky.

The Firestick I got seems to work fine and the remote is super nice compared to using the phone.

So for you guys that share your library.... Do you notice it slows your internet down if someone is watching/streaming a movie? I only have 15mbps with 1mbps up service. I would consider sharing with some of my friends if I knew it wouldn't slow me down.

fyi. theres a reddit thread where guys share libraries if you are looking to add content.

  2. There is definitely some glare. I still just prefer the picture over most of the led's. I always find myself staring at the motion artifacts when watching football etc with led's. And they don't really have the black levels of a plasma. My $.02
  3. Excellent info. I may pull trigger on something like this. These high ass cable bills piss me off. Thanks!!

Only problem I have is when i built my house I have cables exiting wall in one area where my receiver and stuff is. Then my TV sits above the fireplace and plays NO sound. I'd have to figure a way to get sound back through my speakers not using a cable box.

Probably need to upgrade to a receiver that offers HDMI switching.

Roku HDMI > Receiver HDMI In > Receiver HDMI Out >TV

  4. BTW, did you guys upgrade your wireless routers or were they able to run streaming pretty well.

If you have any decent quality stuff you are streaming I would upgrade to an N router.

I just did a $20 TPLink router and the speed of my Plex streaming increased along with the quality of the media through my ChromeCast.

We'll see how the Fire Stick works with it. (not scheduled till next month. blah) Only bought it so I can have a remote. The plex app works fine on my Android but sometimes you just want a remote.

    On a side note.

If any of you guys aren't set on LED 60's, Samsung has a 60" Plasma for $699 (starting next week)

Probably a better quality tv than the cheap LED's. imo.

  5. Been super happy with my ONE M8.

I did crack the screen though. HTC replaces it for free within a year? I think. (first screen I've ever cracked)

The dual lens camera is sorta mehhh.

    Battery life is good.

    Speakers are fantastic.

    Works well...

    Satisfied.

  6. I'm drinking "Black Maple Hill" right now. Anybody heard of it? My lady friend says it's legit.

Ive never heard of it. google says the current stuff is pretty bad?

    .

Anyone had Elmer T Lee? Had some a few months ago and thought it was really good. Not sure how it ranks though.

  7. With Thanksgiving right around the corner, what is everyone's go to holiday drink?

    Tom

Want to get some more OYO bourbon for the winter months.

Currently Ive got in the cabinet,

-Watershed bourbon (not super awesome but I do like to drink Local)

    -Makers Mark

-American Honey (I know make fun if you want but I like it chilled on ice)

  8. Probably swap our dailys over to snow sets this weekend.

The g/f said she didn't want me to because that means it will snow. women.

Nice to have dedicated sets so I dont have to swap tires around.

Running Conti Extreme Winters on both. Price was right and seem to do a good job on both fwd cars.

  9. 284rwhp is about 334hp at the crank. Very nice. Not quite the 300 I was expecting, but still a good bit of power in a 2800lb car.

Quite a few people track this setup. The intercooler is supposedly key for track days. I have noticed that the runners get very hot. So I'm going to look into some cooling options. There's a vented hood that looks good. But I think I'll try the old trick of removing the weatherstrip at the back first.

I also had the crazy idea of putting a couple NACA ducts in the hood to send outside air directly over the runners. But that would require some more work to make sure that amount of air or more leaves the engine bay as well...

Good to know. Im still about a year out or so before doing FI.. Im about 2 tanks in on E85 right now with full exhaust and its actually "not bad" there is a decent amount of torque and pulls well up top. It'll do until I get a few irons out of the fire.

  10. I took a nearby FR-S owner for a spin in it tonight. He was grinning like a fool. :)

I'll tell ya, it's a completely different beast when I can roll off the line and then punch it and break a pair of 265s loose. :D

Bill @ Delicious looks to be doing some great things.

Looks like a guy just had his stg 2 e85 car dyno'd today. Looks great. My only concern with the roots kit is the heat generated during HPDE's. Is there much data on that? That would be my reasoning for going with a Vortech kit. Even if it doesn't make the torque.

  11. I agree with the above comments.

There arent any Dinan dealers in Columbus anymore. We stopped being one a few months ago. You would have to travel to Cincinnati.

Ive had professional and personal dealings with Matt and Chip at AA since 2004. I know not everyone loves them, but as Andy said if I didn't do my own work I would have them do it.

  12. Im happy with mine so far. The speakers make the overall size worth having. I havent taken but a few pictures with it but it seems ok. Sure it might not take great print worthy shots but for what I do it should be fine. (instagram/randomness) The little software gadgets are neat for someone like me that doesn't want to take the time to do actual editing.

The only thing that seems limiting is the notifications. Apps like light flow and others dont work with it at least yet. You only get a green flash regardless of the notification. Im having to turn off notifications like Tapitalk because you dont know whether its a tapitalk noti or a text. Seems amateur. Maybe there will be a mod eventually.

Oh and my cell reception seems better with the M8 vs. Samsung nexus. I dont drop iHeart radio in either spot where I did daily with the samsung.

  13.

Don't get me wrong, I still love Android. I just wish someone would come out with a flagship phone in the 4.3" screen range. All of the "mini's" have downgraded specs. Or if and Android OEM would come out with a phone with a form factor similar to a BlackBerry with a keyboard...Moto has really stepped up their game recently. A flagship spec Droid 5 would really get me interested.

I agree. I really like the size of my nexus and would like to stay there but none of the new/good phones are smallish. Wish I could just upgrade the speed on my current guy.
