  1. It was there last year too. Took home a trophy last year as well. Sounds like Wags is going to get them some magazine attention.
  2. Thanks to everyone who came out! Special thanks to Wags for shooting the show. Glad you were able to find a story out there in the lot. Also special thanks to Clay for helping to judge cars! These kids of events can't happen without lots of outside help. You don't know how much I appreciate it.
  3. Friend of mine had his crap out and needs something. Full size, cold, fridge/freezer combo, not too beat up (since it's going in his kitchen). He can't afford much, so would prefer it on the cheap side as well. Anyone got anything they want to get rid of?
  4. Sorry to hear that. We'll miss you guys at the show. No rain date. The nature of the car and craft show and the scheduling doesn't allow for multiple dates on the calendar. That's what we're hoping for anyhow too. I do have 10 spaces set aside for CR in the middle of the lot. They are surrounded by cones.
  5. Sorry, can't do that. The only discount is if you pre-register you save $3. It's for a good cause. All the money will directly benefit students. None of the procedes will end up in the general fund. https://carshowpro.com/event/241
  6. Trophies are ready! http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=1026&pictureid=9202
  7. Have you updated the firmware on the router? Are you positive your cables are good? You have confirmed that one of the cables, the modem, and the PS are good when you pulled the router out of the equation. The router and the other cable are now suspect. Obviously the cable is the cheaper of those 2 to replace and test. If you can put a known good cable in the system and test again then you can narrow it down further. That being said, I have not seen cables fail that way without some outward signs of damage that are very noticeable. Right now my money is on the router.
  8. I would not think it's the modem if your ping is fast without the router in the way. Some routers have QOS (Quality of Service) settings you could try setting up. Your game packets would get priority over packets from other programs. Another thought would be to ask if your Wifi is secure? Do you have neighbors connecting to your wifi and sucking up your bandwidth?
  9. I've got mixed feelings on this one. I am in 100% agreement that the current tactics are ineffective. Punishing addicts does nothing for the addiction. They don't fear jail time, they fear the effects of going without the drug. In general I am for the spirit of issue 1. But I just saw this posted from the Franklin County Municipal Court Judges. It seems like lately we keep seeing issues pop up that are changes to our state constitution. First it was Casinos, then legalizing weed (but creating a corporate monopoly). I'm not a politics kind of guy and typically try to stay away. Personally I'm for legalizing weed completely. If they want to start by cutting back on penalties for minor stuff (like weed), I'm completely for it. I do think there are some good points in this statement though. As Franklin County Municipal Court judges, we are tasked with the responsibility of sanctioning convicted drug offenders and trying to direct them to treatment while holding them accountable for their actions. While we agree with the spirit of Issue 1, we strongly disagree with the proposed language and urge voters to vote NO. All 15 of us unanimously oppose Issue 1. Franklin County has seen a significant rise in fentanyl-related deaths and the Franklin County Municipal Court is on the front line of this crisis. Issue 1 reduces possession of 19 grams of fentanyl from a felony to a misdemeanor, despite the fact that 19 grams of fentanyl can kill 10,000 people. If Issue 1 passes, a person would need to be convicted of possession of fentanyl three times within 24 months before a judge can even consider jail time for possession of such a deadly drug. It is nonsensical to restrict judges from considering all appropriate sanctions for possession of fentanyl. Proponents of Issue 1 claim that these are scare tactics, but these are simple facts. If Issue 1 passes, it would be very difficult to impose a penalty for the newly classified drug offenses. The amendment completely undermines our current ability to encourage addicts to submit to treatment instead of suffering imprisonment and will have unintended consequences on Ohio’s Drug Courts, which have been proven to be effective with helping people with long-term recovery from drug addiction. Municipal Court judges understand the collateral consequences of jail and how it may disrupt recovery, employment and families. Issue 1 nullifies a judge’s ability to enforce treatment orders, which will result in fewer people going to or completing treatment. This can have a serious effect on how Ohio fights future drug epidemics and it can encourage criminal activity, as there will be very limited consequence for possessing certain amounts of heroin, methamphetamines, LSD, fentanyl and other controlled substances. For example, if a person is convicted one time for possessing the date rape drug – which certainly does not indicate an addiction, but does indicate malicious and criminal behavior – they cannot go to jail as judges are prohibited from even considering jail as a sanction. If Issue 1 passes, because it is a constitutional amendment and not a statute passed by the Ohio Legislature, it would be very difficult to make changes to it. Making this a constitutional amendment means not a single word can be changed without a subsequent amendment. The Ohio Legislature would be prohibited from creating any new laws to fix any unintended consequences from this poorly drafted amendment. Without another statewide ballot initiative, this amendment would be very difficult to fix. As Franklin County Municipal Court judges, all 15 of us stand united in opposition to Issue 1. We believe that Issue 1 is bad for the residents of Franklin County and understand that Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien and Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein are discussing a bipartisan legislative plan to address some of the concerns raised by Issue 1 proponents. We welcome the opportunity to further this bipartisan alternative because it will allow courts to be even more effective in the administration of justice and giving those addicted the hope and opportunities they deserve. 10. Think last year I reserved 6 or 7 cars wide by 2 deep spots for CR right in the middle of the lot. I would do it for any club coming out if they ask, just nobody else has. Yes, just can't judge that class. Will do. I appreciate it. Plan for a judges meeting at 10:00 to make sure I get everyone up to speed on the software. We'll start judging at 11:00 and be done by 1:00ish hopefully. We've ordered good weather with no rain, so as long as the requisition gets approved it will be great.
  11. Does CR want me to reserve a group of spots at the car show?
  12. We're less than 2 weeks out. I am looking for judges if anyone is available. The more we have the easier the job is. The job isn't glamorous, but it's not hard. The dash cards will have a QR code on them, all you need to do is find the cars in the lot, scan the QR code, put in the scores and move on. Most scores are based on cleanliness, but a large portion of the score is in "cool factor" points. So you as a judge get a lot of leeway in how a car does. Judges meeting at 10:00 to make sure everyone knows how to use the software. I'll pair up newbies with experienced judges, or the older guys without smart phones. Judging has to be done by about 1:00 - 1:30 so we can be ready to do awards by 2:00. So it's not a long commitment.
  13. What did you use on the oxidized plastic bits on the bumpers? I have a 2006 King Ranch we're working on and they look like crap. I'd like to freshen them up as well.
  14. I don't have any more information than is what is in the Craigslist ads. The owner would prefer to talk over any questions over the phone. 1978 Chevrolet Corvette Pace Car Edition - $20000 https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/d/1978-chevrolet-corvette-pace/6700983758.html 1947 Chevrolet Stylemaster - $5000 https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/d/1947-chevrolet-stylemaster/6701005205.html 1974 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Convertible - $15000 https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/d/1974-oldsmobile-delta-88/6700988967.html Set of racing wheels/slicks https://columbus.craigslist.org/pts/d/set-of-racing-wheels-slicks/6701298349.html Call Skip at (614) 774-0409. 15. More than your last two vehicles? So she didn't spend much. Look at it this way, she got what she wanted, so mamas happy. When mama ain't happy, nobody's happy. At least she's working as a lawyer, not making $10/hour in a call center. I assume her rates will pay it off relatively quickly regardless of cost. I figure that gets you a little more wiggle room the next time you find a car that is a great deal, but a little outside the budget.
  16. Judging 11:00 to 2:00, not 12:00 to 2:00 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=1026&pictureid=9144
  17. Technically he didn't say you could drive with both engines. My guess is the VW engine will run, but has no real function in the car.
  18. po-mod, or poo-mod? Just kidding. I like anything that goes fast.
  19. We adopted a 2 1/2 year old dane this past summer. He's a handful, but he's also a trip. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=935&pictureid=9142 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=935&pictureid=9143 Just a big baby. He has no idea how big he is, or how strong he is. All that and he isn't even a large dane. He only weighs in about 135 - 140. Forest looks like an awesome pup. I'm a little jealous that we didn't get a pup. Hope he works out for you.
  20. Our new logo done by one of our instructors. Next year I hope all our promotional material will be student generated. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=1026&pictureid=9136
  21. Not sure, I just tried it and it worked fine. Maybe he had the server down for maintenance or something.
  22. Pre-registration is up. https://carshowpro.com/event/241 This year the cost is $12 if you preregister $15 the day of show. Gates open at 8:00 Registration 8:00 to 11:00 Judging 11:00 to 2:00 Awards at 2:00 We will be having a craft show going on as well inside the school.
  23. Have you considered looking out west? My experience tells me to expect a bill of 1000 to 1500 to have a truck shipped from Arizona. There are services that will go inspect the truck for you. Might cost you an extra 2k, but the right truck will be completely rust free. https://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/cto/d/1965-f100-shortbed/6659787818.html
