  1. The Impala SS was the first car I fell in love with. When I bought the 94 I bought everything I could about that car as well. I have a model I have not built yet. I bought prints of all the magazine ads they ever ran. The problem was the car had been rode hard when I bought it, so it eventually started deteriorating faster than I was interested in keeping up with. My 95 Camaro is a close second. That was the first fun car I ever bought. That one I won't sell (I have FAR too much money wrapped up in it).
  2. I got mine this weekend, but didn't have time to tackle it. I only have a 4 wire cable coming up from the furnace, so I will need the power adapter that shipped with the Ecobee 4. Doesn't look like it will be too terrible, but I want to make sure I have time to get it done start to finish since the furnace will be off while I'm working.
  3. The auto collision teacher out at school is an old school kid. We're pretty busy right now finishing out the semester, but winter break is coming up. He might have some time. http://www.tollestech.com/staff/miles-kieffer/
  4. How do think it would fair at the Ohio Mile? I know the safety regs would be a bitch, but as it's been stated you've got kids now. A closed course event with safety crews there and strict inspections before hand means you have the best chance of going home at the end of the event. You said you are already bored chasing ETs.
  5. I may have to give that a try. I've been using a glue stick to make mine tacky, but that sounds like a good idea too.
  6. I've had a few. There is definitely an funk to them. None of mine have been biters. Inquisitive in the extreme. Playful, goofy, intelligent. I've known of ones that were litter box trained. I would not let them have the run of the house though. Any hole about the size of a quarter they will crawl through and see where it goes. Honestly they are not really a pet for a child. I would buy a large cage (multiple levels), lots of room to move around. They are not a pet for just anyone. I have to admit, I miss mine.
  7. I have the iMakr Startt and I love it. The kit was a bit of a challenge to put together, but all just plug and play, no soldering. Uses PLA filament, best price I've found is local at MicroCenter. For what it is I'm VERY happy, but even they will tell you it's not the last 3D printer you'll ever have, it's the first. Things I wish it had were a heated bed, and about double the printing size. 120x140x130 isn't bad, but I have found things on Thingiverse I would like to print that it's just a little small for.
  8. Just ordered the Ecobee 4. I already have an Echo and 3 Dots. Seems like a good addition.
  9. I was wasting time on Facebook a couple days back and saw an ad for a game. I normally just dismiss them and move on, but this one caught my eye. I've tried Wold of Tanks, but never really got into it. This seems similar, but with a Mad Max environment. The game is Crossout. https://crossout.net/
  10. I'm thinking hard about this one. This seems too good to be true. Buy in for $2000 (including the PS). Every 4 months have enough saved up to buy another unit. I guess the significant point is the value of the bitcoin and whether it stays high or not. If the value halves then it's half the profit each month.
  11. I have to admit, one of the reasons I chose the Avalanche was the toolboxes built into the bed rails. I like fold down rear seats for hauling larger items that are bigger than the trunk or the back seat.
  12. Impala sold, AK still for sale. $750 for the package is as low as I will go.
  13. bump, make an offer if you're interested.
  14. Not interested, but I know some people. What skill sets is your friend looking for? Is this a sales gig, installation, manufacturing, all of the above?
  15. What Wags said. With the bigger motor you don't need to push it that hard. I could run a small block in my dragster and make the same amount of power, but I'd be pushing the motor a LOT harder which makes for more maintenance, more breakage, etc. 750 HP at the flywheel from a 500+ inch motor really isn't stressing anything very much. At some point I might go for a more aggressive cam and see how hard it would be to push mine up to 1000 HP, but the car is plenty fun at the 750 it is now.

  17. Awesome! Don't forget me in the fun blowing stuff up! I'll bring the beer to fuel the bad decisions.
  18. Looks like the hood runs right up against the windshield. I don't see the normal gap where you can hide a wiper and arm. I assume for aerodynamics. I'd probably just get rid of it and Rain-X the shit out the glass.
  19. Need isn't even in the same ballpark as this type of car. If we only ever built cars to meet our needs the auto industry would be pretty damn boring. For that matter nobody "needs" a corvette. It's a want, not a need. Even at $200k per they will sell all of these that they make. There are folks out there that will buy them regardless of the price. It's odd, but this crosses into the other thread we were talking about. I don't need a dragster, I don't need to brew my own beer, or build my own furniture. My life won't end without those things. But in a way I do "need" them. Without those things in my life it's pretty damn boring. I'd save a shit ton of money, but my existence would be pretty bland. It's about entertainment, setting goals, meeting challenges, and having fun. For the people with that kind of money, this is the kind of thing that makes their lives more interesting. I certainly can't play in those circles, but some people can. More power to them. Will some jackass wrap one around a telephone pole 1/2 mile down the road from the dealership? Maybe, but it's his to do with what he pleases. He'll have to deal with the consequences of his decision. I honestly hope nobody gets hurt, but we can't regulate dumb.
