Good luck everyone, I wish I could make it out for the event. I'll be stuck in class getting ready for next school year.

Don't buy anything up here. In that price range all you're going to buy is a pile of rust. I do like my wife's first gen tundra. It does tow smaller stuff well, my 24 ft. enclosed trailer was about the most I could tow with it, but it did the job. It's for sale in here, but the rust is probably a deal breaker for you. It is only body rust though, Toyota put a new frame under it. I'd sell it for $3500. Best offer I've gotten so far is $3000.

I got a craigslist email last week from someone named "Hahn Dean". Asked a few basic questions about the truck. Asked me to send him a report on the truck. I responded back and asked what he was looking for in a report. I was guessing he wanted to see receipts for work I had done prior to the sale. It takes Hahn a couple days, but I get an email through craigslist again today asking me to get him a report from "leaksvin.com". He doesn't want to pay for the report himself because he doesn't want to be out the money if he decides not to buy the truck. I've never heard of the site, but a quick internet search shows it's a site to harvest gullible peoples credit card info. I went ahead and flagged him as a scammer. Guess I could have had some fun with him offering up a Carfax report instead. The whole thing seemed fishy after the initial email.

Planning a wedding reception/party, need recommendation

a friends daughter got married up at Camp Mary Orton last summer. They did allow alcohol at the reception. -
Congrats!

Yeah, he's a friend of mine. I haven't asked him directly, but after Rocky mentioned it to me I looked up the dispatch article. He isn't the guy who did the selling, but he got wrapped up in the deal. He plead guilty to a number of charges. Honestly, without talking to him about it yet, I'm going to say that he's too nice a guy and trusted the wrong person trying to help them out. I do know at one time he was licensed to do all sorts of fire arms work, not sure why his shop was unlicensed according to the article. No excuse for breaking the law, but he really is a good guy. He's not doing any firearms work at all anymore as far as I know. It does bother me that bad people will be doing bad things to good people with those rifles, and he was involved. But I will continue to trust him with my automotive machine work until I have a reason not to. http://www.dispatch.com/news/20170427/ohioan-charged-in-sale-of-62-sniper-rifles-to-mexican-buyers

Good for you they want to settle. I double you'd win anything in court. Had you let her hit you then you would have had a case. The problem is you braked and turned to avoid the collision and you hit that curb. She didn't hit you and she didn't push you into that curb. It sucks but legally sometimes you're actually better off to take the hit. My brother in law got cut off while riding. The only way to avoid the collision was to lay the bike down(his words, not going to debate it). When he took her to court the judge found against him because there was no accident other than him deliberately laying the bike down.

I looked very seriously at building one years ago. Not a terrible price, the kit goes for $25k without shipping. $5k to cover all the drive train and suspension parts. I just can't imagine picking up where he left off after it's been sitting for so long.

In the short term I agree. The spot still has 2 of the 3 criteria for a good meeting space. Once the weather turns though people are going to want to sit inside. I just don't see us hanging out in the new place.

And .... never mind. No way I'm signing up for a service to watch this. $6.99 a month and I still have to watch commercials? Nope. Nope. Nope.

I grew up watching Star Trek in one form or another. I'll probably watch it.

You're not supposed to live in storage garages. But in all seriousness if you're still looking for ideas there are a couple guys who have rigged up a storage space and live in them.

We used to have a lab hound mix who could just about snap your shoulder out of it's socket with the long retractable leads. I went with an electronic training collar. It was quite a bit more expensive, but once he learned his limits he was much better for it, and it gave him more freedom at the same time. I walked him a couple times with a standard leash, and the training collar. I would use standard voice commands and the tone feature of the collar. After a few times I stopped using the leash (we live in the country, no leash laws). I had to zap him a couple times, and a couple more times hard. He learned quickly in a couple days. After that I almost never needed to shock him, the tone was all I ever needed. For the next 10 years we would walk without a leash. He could wander all over the place, and when he started getting out of my sight I could call him back or tone him and he would come straight back. Some people looked at me like I was a monster for using the collar, but once he got used to it (took a week maybe) he enjoyed the extra freedom he got out of the deal.

Congrats on making it this far. It's all down hill from there. Nah, just have a fun midlife crisis. I didn't buy the racecar till after I turned 40.

91 Geo Storm with 280,000 worth $3,000? Does it have $2,500 in the glove box?

Not to mention it's sold without a title. He states the VIN is on the cowl, someone is really going to spend that kind of money on that rough of a car without a title?

It's either do it now before summer hits, or wait until next year. Personally I would rather see them put the time in now. It will make the whole summer of racing better. And yeah, they technically could have gotten by without resurfacing the track, but if it was like Larue I would never go back. There are other tracks around if you're that desperate. Head up to Pacemakers. -
Nope, that's just oil. They do get a fair amount of blow by on the rings, so I'm sure there is some fuel in that oil. I was told that the oil gets whipped into into a froth. If you drain that oil and let it sit in a pan it will go back to a more normal color. Buddy of mine has a AA fuel altered, he was looking for a small turkey fryer burner and pot. Some of the guys will heat the oil and evaporate the fuel out of it and then reuse it. I guess Nitro oil isn't cheap (not that anything at that level is).

He's a good guy, and he's been a friend for years. I met him back when I was building the stroker motor for the Camaro. He was who did my head and intake work and recommended the cam I used. He did a freshen up on my race motor this past winter.

It wasn't that long ago they bought the track. It takes time to evaluate the facility and figure out exactly what needs done, create a budget for the renovations, prioritize the projects, hire the contractors. Then when you toss in the monsoon season we just experienced .... they're a little behind their schedule. At least they are cleaning the place up and making it a better place to race. I'm sure if it had not changed hands we would have the track day as scheduled, and everyone would be bitching about the prep, the return road, the staging lanes, the track, etc... (me included). Seems like a relatively minor inconvenience all considering. Besides, this is a chance to show the new ownership and management that we're good people, and the next time we want to schedule a track day their more receptive.
