  1. Getting ready to install new suspension in the Impala (sway bars, upper and lower control arms, shocks) and do a tune up. Camaro is headed to the body shop to fix up some damage that happened in the autotech shop.
  2. No lambo doors? That would make it PERFECT! :barf:
  3. I've seen that before. Good for a chuckle.
  4. I was 8, so I remember some of it. The school sent work home since we were out a couple weeks. I remember sitting at the dining room table in the mornings working on homework. We all slept in the master bedroom with the door closed and blankets over the windows to keep as much heat in as possible. After the storm dad went out and bought a kerosene heater, coleman stove and coleman lantern. I still use the stove and lantern when I go camping.
  5. +10 on having it done. That kind of weight poses all sorts of problems, starting with the question, can the stairs handle that kind of weight. I'd hate to see you save yourself $350 and cost yourself $1000 in repairs. If you're bound and determined to do it yourself you might look into renting an appliance dolly. It's what the moving guys use to move refrigerators. Uhaul has some nice ones that have roller belts for going up and down stairs. And I agree with moving it in pieces if at all possible. The less weight the better.
  6. Why is it when people hear the word "blizzard" they immediately run out and stock up on milk, eggs and bread ... Do they like french toast that much?
  7. Yep, uh huh, it's REAL! This is an absolutely real posting by the Onion. Nothing fake about it.
  8. Some of you must have been involved in this deployment. http://www.theonion.com/content/node/29257
  9. Hell, I'd settle for plain old base level broadband. But I filled out the form too cause anything is better than dial up, and my air card is expensive as hell for less than 1 meg up and down. I'd pay 80 - 100 a month for fiber without batting an eye. Since I could piggyback other services on it (like phone) in the end it would save me money.
  10. If you're looking for someone to do the port work, I recommend Eric Grimes on the west side. His shop is not far from 70 and Wilson. He did the work on my LT1 heads and throttle body. Price was fair and the work was excellent. I'm not sure how he'd feel about me posting his email or phone publicly, so let me know if you want it and I'll PM you his contact info.
  11. I imagine there are others like me who can't find their slips. Once the weather breaks and people can make it back to the track then you'll see more submissions. I know I will if my slow ass qualifies.
  12. Thorough visual inspection of every wire you can find. Check for spark, fuel pressure, etc...
  13. My 10 bolt is fine for right now, but I'd rather swap to a 9" before it snaps. I thought about a 12 bolt, but I like the idea of pulling the center section to swap gears.
  14. Yeah, 3 cars and 3 motorcycles here. That was fun. Oh, and new license too .... hope you guys renewing like pink.
  15. Rob, I'm still up for that group buy from Moser you've been talking about. PM me if you're making the order, I may want to tweak mine a little.
  16. A guy walks into the bar and has the bartender set him up 8 shots in a row. He starts downing them as fast as he can. The bartender asks him why he's drinking so fast. The guy replies "If you had what I have you'd drink fast too." "Okay" the bartender replies, "What do you have?" The guy responds, "A buck thirty two."
  17. Royal Purple break-in oil. That is what I used.
  18. I saw that last summer at GoodGuys. I couldn't figure it out why. I'm all for being different, but DAMN! Looked like a nice car in person, but the rear end does not look right and over all, not my taste.
  19. +1 on dyno oil. I've heard the rings will not seat if you use synthetic. Start the engine the first time and run for no more than 5 minutes, then change the oil filter only. Depending on how much assembly grease was used you could clog the filter (at least that was recommended to me on my motor, can't hurt). The builder said to run it at 2k RPM for 20 minutes while one person monitors the guages, and another looks for leaks or anything out of place. Pull the plugs and check for color (you want a light tan color on the spark plugs, anything else could be a problem). He said if all that was fine, then run it for 2000 miles before switching to Synthetic. Fine to drive it spirited, but keep it off the rev limiter. After 2000, do whatever you want. Seemed to work out okay for me. I have no complaints about the builder or the motor. I'm just thinking through the whole process I was told.
  20. I'm more a fan of Redwing, but Rocky makes good boots too. If you decide on Redwings, I recommend heading down to Logan to the outlet store. It's right off 33 just past Rockbridge. It is a true outlet store in that all the items are structurally sound, but have small blemishes that mean they can't be sold for full price. Mine had a small nick in leather of the toe. Had I bought them new, the first time I kicked something to break it loose I would have done more damage. I paid $100 for a pair of boots that retails for over $200.
  21. I burned 100 Memorex DVDs a while back as promotional materials for my class. Not a bad burn in the bunch. I don't remember if I used + or -R discs though. I've not had good luck with Verbatim, but buy a small pack of each and try them. I'm sure there are better burning programs out there, but if you can make use of what you have and you're happy with it .... I think the burner and the player has as much to do with the outcome as the discs themselves. Find what works for you and use it. BTW, I did the video with Movie Maker in Windows 7. Worked like a charm.
  22. I'd probably try a different brand of discs, maybe try DVD+R instead. I'd buy a few at a time till you figure out what works for you. A slower speed might help, but if the system reports a good burn that's normally good enough for me.
  23. I saw something like this a while back and a friend said they were good. My dog is not nearly as destructive to his toys as what you guys are talking about. But these are made from fire hose. http://www.alphadogtoys.comfire_hose_tough_dog_fetch_toy_tennis_ball_water_float.html There is another one on that site with squeakers.
  24. Thanks for running this Ray, not sure I'll ever be on the list, but it'll be cool information. You might try keeping the list using a spreadsheet like Excel. Then cut and paste the table into the thread. It'll make it easy to re-sort the list as you add entries, and should format the columns so it'll be a little easier to read.
  25. Looks like Ray is taking care of it. Fitting that someone toward (or at) the top of that list will be running it. Lemmie know if I can be of any help, but it seems you have it simplified pretty well.
