Nice car, I wonder how long the stock block will handle 500HP. I like the Road King too. Was thinking about trading my Softtail for a Street Glide.

If you had the chance, would you date a pornstar?
Richard Cranium replied to Rustlestiltskin's topic in Dumpster
I would. Not sure what peoples issues are with trust, she's being open and straight forward. She's hot, she knows what she's doing, she's adventurous. Honestly I don't see the problem. -
I've been told never to run an oil treatment. The crap does get cleaned out of the oil passages and the engine does get cleaned up. But all that crap ends up in the oil, and then in the screen of the oil pickup. Once that screen plugs up you can say goodbye to your motor when there is no more oil pressure.

If you put a new carb on, maybe mixture is off and fouled plugs? Then again computers are my specialty.

Opti was BRAND NEW when I bought it last March. Had less than 2000 miles on it. It's an MSD one, so I think it has a lifetime warranty too (for $500) it better. I appreciate the offer to help replace it, but I think we have that covered. At least the car broke down at school, so we can push it into the Autotech shop and work on it there. In fact it'll probably be the students who do the work. If MSD dicks around with warrantying it I'll shoot you a PM.

Shit Shit Shit! My Opti took a shit! Looks like I'm out for the track day. We'll see what MSD will do for me with warranty.

That would be awsome, but won't happen. It'll be the same thing all over again that it was with the Lottery. They will divert some of the tax money to schools, as they say they will. I don't doubt this for a minute, but they will also cut funding somewhere else and divert that money to politicians pet projects. Sure the schools will get casino money, but the total coming in won't change, just the source.

If you do manage to pull that off I'll bet she screams.

Reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw .... "You never see a motorcycle parked in front of a therapists office". Other than that I just take one day at a time. Being positive is a state of mind. It takes a lot of will power, but it can be done. One of the kids at school the other day hit my Camaro with another car in the auto tech lab. Once it was done it could not be undone no matter how mad I could have gotten. At least I know I can take it down to the Collision Repair class and get it fixed.

Eric did my LT1 heads and did a fantastic job. Last I heard he had his flow bench set up, so even though he is hand porting he will be able to match whatever flow numbers you want (within reason). He may have his CNC mill set up too. I would recommend his work to anyone. His prices are reasonable, since he runs his machine shop in the evenings (Mechanical Engineer by day). PM me and I'll give you his cell phone number. If nothing else give the guy a call and talk with him.

+1 for the training collar. We have one for our dog and it was the best investment ever. I can walk him without a leash now. Helps to tire him out when he can run and play while I walk.

Windows 7 had been working like a dream for me. Restored a lot of my faith in Microsoft. I'm currently upgrading most of my equipment from XP to Windows 7.

I'll take Band of Brothers and 300 on blue ray if you still have them. Not really interested in the rest.

You can get the city to take care of anything that is a health risk and they will bill the owner. We had a guy put in a pool around the corner, then move out. So we had a half full swimming pool breading mosquitoes. Some one called the health department. They came out with a one foot cube block of chlorine and chucked it into the pool. Told us they would tack it on the guys property tax.

You gotta be kidding, people will believe anything these days .... "but I read it on the internet!"
-
Sorry guys, I'm out ... I don't have a car that will run. Even the Camaro took a crap on me this week.

Windows 7 is worth waiting for. I've been using it since it was pre-released to OEMs and academics. Also finding one with a solid state drive should be on the priority list. Speed can't be beat, and the added battery life will be appreciated. Other than that I would say smaller is better. Maybe even snag a tablet or other small laptop without an optical drive. You hardly ever use them, and they use battery power and are weight. Just buy an external to use at home when you are not mobile.

Sounds good to me. I haven't fired my 9mm since I did my CCW.

I got one of those letters a while back. Pissed me off to no end too. I agree, driving without insurance should be a crime. But to assume I am guilty until I prove myself innocent is bull shit! Besides, just because I have a car registered does not mean I am driving it. Had they requested proof of insurance for my Camaro I would have been up shit creek. At the time the motor was on a stand being built, the car was on a rack with no front end attached. I cancelled the insurance until we got it back on the road. Luckily they wanted proof for a car I was driving. BTW, double check the date they want insurance proof for .... it's not always the current proof they want.

+1 My family has bought several from them over the years. I just bought my current set this year. Queen sized set, double pillow top (so you can flip the mattress). I think it was about $750 and I would happily buy the same thing again. I don't even bother shopping anywhere else for a mattress set.

You may have a regular telephone modem in your desktop, make sure you are not selecting that as your network connection. That is one of the few things I can think that would register "no dial tone". Also, another difference between your laptop and your desktop could be the laptop has the login information for your ISP saved while the desktop does not. I have seen that when someone uses one system to configure the modem during the initial setup. Hope this helps.

Tough call. Either you need to find a girl who is not turned off by guns (and them being carried in public). Or stop carrying. If it really is negatively effecting your quality of life, then maybe it's time to change your priorities. Before people start pointing fingers, I do also have a CCW permit and training. I choose not to carry for the most part since my sole pistol is a little too large for me to conceal conveniently. Also, a lot of the people I know would be offended by a loaded handgun in their presence. I choose not to make it an issue by not carrying. Besides, between being a school teacher and spending a lot of time in bars .... about the only place I can legally carry is at home and in my car.

I wish my dad could have been around long enough for me to find him another '59 Alpha Romeo convertible. He had one before they got married and I always wanted to find him another one. He never would have bought another one on his own, but of all the cars he owned that one was his favorite. Don't wait too long, you never know how many opportunities you'll have.

I have to go pick the girlfriends son up after his cross country meet. If you're still running when I get back I'll bring the Impala over for shits and giggles.
