  1. I'm sorry to hear that putty. I do in fact have a lenders egg pack frozen up right now if there is in fact some nationwide egg-bagel shortage. I think this may be some cosmic force just trying to stick it to you though.

Also, I heard Obama is signing an egg-bagel reinvestment act that should jumpstart the creation of oven-ready egg bagel projects all over the nation. That should give you some peace of mind.

  2. On another forum they were saying under $30k which is pretty sweet if its true.

Ha! I'll believe that when I see it. That would be sweet if it were true, but I'd bet this will come in closer to $35k optioned with popular goodies.

  3. Damnit Putty, did you go to Kroger and look where I said? I told you they have them. Quit stressing out and go buy some damn bagels. If there is a egg bagel shortage, I'll sell you one of the packs I have in the freezer for $5. Sheesh!!!

Do it or I'm going to go to every kroger in Columbus and buy out their lenders egg bagels!

  4. Oh man, let's not turn this into another Audi vs. world thread.

That being said, in this day and age it is only a matter of time before BMW, Ford, etc get pwned by warranty claims. Yeah back in the day you could engineer a turbo to last forever; because it was oversized, laggy, and understressed. Now people won't stand for that- they want smaller, faster responding, higher-performance turbos... and they're gonna die sooner than a supercharger will in the same application.

  5. Some companies (Audi) installs after-run coolant pumps to keep the turbo oil from coking due to owner neglect... Worked on the old Audi turbos, fails on the new Audi turbos. I'm not sure if Ford would want to add the expense of that system though.
  6. That's a little crummy about the return. I'm surprised they wouldn't at least put it on consignment for you, since my dad has done that same exact thing before (albeit, 8 years ago). I like blackwing except their prices are absolutely retarded on most things. It really seems to me like they're trying to take advantage of ignorant wealthy folk.
  7. I have to give Ford credit, it looks like they did a hell of a job with this motor. 32v, 7000rpm, and 390 lb-ft from a 4.9 is damn good. I think they could do a little better than 25mpg on the highway, but that's still pretty sweet out of a mustang. It looks good too. Too bad I don't like mustangs. How much is it supposed to cost again? Seems like all that tech would drive the price up quite a bit, which I thought was the GT's strongest selling point.
  8. Thanks for the input guys. All of our Chevy trucks have 200k+ miles on them with very few issues (except one that's down with a fuel pump) FWIW. Took ownership of this Saturday, we'll see how it stacks up against our older chevys. On a 300ish mile trip Friday it got right around 17mpg, which isn't great but isn't terrible for AWD and such. I wish my Audi got 17mpg ;)
  9. Audis certainly aren't perfect, but I know their issues. I really know older Chevy trucks pretty well, but haven't owned or really worked with anything newer than a 95' Chevy truck. I don't know how you could get 13mpg, seriously. Our 454 heavy 1-ton gets about that. Our 350s get high-teens even towing equipment, I'm not kidding at all. You do have to drive them right to manipulate the trans. Hopefulyl Chris's escalade is a lemon with all its electrical failures and ours turns out to be good. Taking an extended test drive this weekend to put it through the paces.
  10. Damn sol, I almost posted exactly that but decided against it because I didn't want to start another e-battle so close to Christmas. You're right on the money here. Maybe corrupt .gov types would think twice about abusing their power if they got beaten/sodomized to death instead more pedestrian penalties. I'd be happy to be in charge of the punishment.
