Changing the diverter valve (or bypass valve, or recirculation valve) is a good thing. The older ones were crappy diaphragm type valves that were pretty junky. You may even get more powerz yo! Double power bonus if it's chrome or has an R on it.

I almost bought a 335 and 135 within the past 6 months. Go read the forums on their issues and how crazy BMW is on voiding the warranty. This isn't regular modded car = void warranty talk, its insane. Turned me off to owning one. First car that a forum experience has ever done that for me.

 

Well I remember them having major issues with oil temps on the early autos I believe? Guy in my old neighborhood bought a 535 brand new and had serious motor problems. Then they went to a bigger single turbo which was supposed to help, right?

 

It's kinda looking like the B8 might not have retarded issues, but we'll see. At least there haven't been problems with turbo failure, suspension wear, timing chain replacement, DI carbon, or fuel-pump cam failure yet.

Yeah, I'd have to drive a real actual MANUAL S4 too:gabe:. But at least the autos have a nice dead pedal for you to rest your bored left foot on. I'd be a little concerned about the turbo issues on the earlier biturbo BMWs, might want to look into that if you serious abotu a 335/535.

I'd be all over an S4 against those competitors. I wouldn't even put an S4 in the same class as a TL or 5-series honestly, it's just that much better.

i was thinking more along the lines of not needing starters anymore like the C6Z race cars before they changed classes and had to take the direction injection off the car.

BTDT. Alaska is absolutely beautiful, I've been to most of the major cities at one time or another. FYI, I went on an Alaskan cruise on June, and the weather was very rough for one day. Everyone got seasick (except me) at one point, although there was never any danger. Many of the parts of the boat were closed (casino, pool, etc.) on my trip so check on that if it's important to you. Many of the guests are older, so expect to have much of the place to yourself late at night.

There are a few Giant Eagle stations with diesel. I can't remember which ones have it off the top of my head, I don't use very much diesel fuel.

As the fable goes, “Rossie Brovent” was expecting her boyfriend, “Ryan L. Fitzjerald,” to ink a scene from “Narnia” on her back. Instead, having found out that “Rossie” had cheated on him, a vindictive “Fitzjerald” retaliated by delivering a tattoo of a steaming, swirly pile of excrement encircled by several flies.

 

“Rossie” claimed “Fitzgerald” tricked her into drinking a bottle of “cheap wine” and tequila shots, which incapacitated her for most of the time it took him to ink the tattoo.

 

According to the story--which is accompanied by a photo of the purported tattoo--“Brovent” this month filed a $100,000 civil lawsuit against “Fitzjerald.” The former couple are described as “trailer park residents” from Dayton in the story.

 

As seen above, the photo appears legitimate. In fact, it first surfaced online about 18 months ago as part of a “Worst Tattoo of the Day” post on the blog I Am Bored.

 

The image reappeared this week--complete with a backstory about the fractured love of “Rossie” and “Ryan”--on a sketchy “weird news” web site that appears to be dedicated to ginning up its Googe AdSense impressions.

 

A review of court indices, of course, shows no such civil complaint has ever been filed (either in federal or state court) by “Brovent.” James Druber, administrator of the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court (where Dayton residents file their six-figure complaints), said that he had heard nothing about the purported tattoo lawsuit.

 

Additionally, a review of the Nexis database turns up no “Rossie Brovent,” or, in fact, anyone with that surname. And a search for “Ryan Fitzjerald” (with or without the middle initial “L”) turns up nobody with that name.

 

Records for Dayton and Montgomery County show no evidence that “Fitzjerald” (or “Fitzgerald”) has been licensed as a tattoo parlor operator or employee, according to Alan Pierce, an official with the Public Health department.

Seriously? Well at least nobody got hurt. Since he's so into tats, he should have something fitting scribed across his forehead. Of course, it must have been a long gun because 18 year olds can't buy pistols or SBRs. By law. Right?

I only bother with Giant Eagle if I'm doing something expensive like buying electronics from Best Buy, or if I know I have a bunch of crap to get at Lowe's or something. Definitely worth it, but ultimately you have to spend money to (kinda) save money so be careful with that mindset.

I take it you find them to be *vastly* different levels of severity, as do I, but "she can put a shirt on" doesn't change anything about my stance. He still disfigured her in order to shame her. Go ahead and scoff at our shops $75 CONVENTIONAL oil change, reality is that we are able to at least break even and make a LITTLE on what it really costs to get an oil change done.

As far as I know it's just to scuff or break any glaze or coating that might be on the surface of the pads. Any physical abrasions would be worn away quickly but I've never done it and never had any problems.

Roaddevils is a more old-skool Kustom kar klub type. They seem to use a lot of Ks in their descriptions, but strangely never three in a row.

That's not bad. My basic math and the 2 minutes I was willing to spend at vw.com suggests that it will take approx 7 years at current fuel prices to break even over the 2.5L.

 

This may be, but you can also run many diesels on WVO, or various other things, if you're feeling creative. Fun for the tinkerer... If you've ever looked at used VW prices, you'd know it's moronic NOT to buy a diesel.
