  1. I just replaced a caliper that had seized slide-pins that was doing the shaking/thumping sound on the freeway. It's pretty easy to tell if one side of your rotor is getting used and one side is rusting up though just by looking at it.
  2. I'm with Doc, I only have liability on my two cars because I know I'm a better driver than all the normal people on the road.. an accident would be their fault.

I used to think this way, but then someone ran a red light and totaled a very rare vehicle of mine. Bitch had no insurance in a rental, and weeks after the accident had one of her friends lie and say she was a witness to say I was at fault. Bam, instant total-loss. If I had collision coverage I wouldn't have been so screwed.

On a motorcycle it is silly though, with the premium I paid for collision it would have been the value of the bikes in 2 years. What a racket.

  3. That looks like a pistol buffer. They're made so a standard stock will not slide over them, because the gun was built in a pistol configuration (short) and a stock would make it an NFA item. You would want to put a standard (I recommend mil-spec not commercial) receiver extension (buffer tube) assy. on there for for actual shooting, although you would then be in possession of a NFA item which is a whole can of worms.
  4. Are you asking about two different rifles now? One you want a scope on, and one already has an Aimpoint, but needs a grip? Grips are easy- tangodown, magpul, etc. high quality for cheap. For the scope it would depend on what you want to do with the rifle.

-Is this a benchrest gun? Varmint rifle? Blaster?

-Used in daytime only, or in hours of low light?

    -What range?

  5. Who does that with a modern turbo car? Most are oil and water cooled so the water continues to circulate and cool when you turn off the car. As for start up I start and go, I just don't floor it until the water temp is up, and I think that rule is for any car. I jump in and out every day.

Be Audi made since 1987, have after-run coolant pump to prevent coking of turbo. I shudder every time I have to make boost before shit's warm though.
