People in Ohio never use their blinker, why would you?! I am from NY and people there use their blinker 90% of the time, here it is like 40% of the time. Sorry to hear about getting dicked around being under 18 an all.

I will get my fishing pole. Nice work.

Too bad it was not a cool car. I say tear out the inside and make it a race car!

5:15 am on Friday. Getting ready to head up there. I will swing by garage #28 and say hi. Look forward to see the mini van too.
-
You go out at 1pm. You are welcome to ride with me as a passenger in group 3. If you have never been on the course, it will give you a great idea what it is like and the turns too.

What Yamaha? Did you do a wheelie past my house a while back? Stop by and say hi, I am outside working on the car all the time. 4 doors up Delburn to Meijer or towards the apartments? I am camping next to the skid car lot. I should be heading up tonight if the weather is going to hold, otherwise early in the Friday AM.

That place just seems like a badly written message board. Why do people go there? It is hard to read, hard to follow, and has a bad layout. I just don't understand, I guess at 30 I am old and have better things to do.

Matt, You running the rx7 or what? Just changed the oil, installed an oil catch can and will be changing the clutch fluid tomorrow. super excited. I am doing Fri-Sunday. I will be hella tired.

Could you use the $15 a month he would pay your for internet? Do you know him well? I know a friend who lives in a duplex and splits the cable with the other side. They know each other and there is some trust. If you trust and know him do it. If you don't know him well and don't need the $15, then don't do it. Just tell him you are not comfortable splitting it. He might download child porn, that would be bad.

I never heard of it either since I am from NY. It is just like horse shoes, except instead of throwing chunks of metal across a yard full of kids, you toss bean bags. :marc2: Only good thing is you can take it with you and you can still drink beer while playing. Tim, Would it have not been easier to layer the paint? Paint it all one color and then work up with the maskings? Paint it all gray, then mask off the edge of the gray and paint it all black. Then mask off the black and paint the white, once that dries, mask off and paint the red. Just seems like a lot of work with a chance of missing a spot should the tape be off by 1/16". They do look great, but damn that is a ton of time in the paint.

Head count for NASA Mid Ohio on July 24-26. I will be there running in HPDE Group 3. I am parking against the skid car area on the east side. Okemi (Ben) should also be going if they need an instructor. Max
-
Yeah, that was when I spun it, with an instructor. I told him it was going to loop, he said it will be ok and to give it gas. It looped, I have it on film too.

Got some pictures back from the last track day at Beaver Run. Totally awesome. Next one is on July 25/26 at Mid Ohio and I am signed up to go. You should come! Enjoy! Those wheels looks sick. Not a bad looking car for a '91 with 135k miles and 15 track days. http://www.adamdaley.com/max/mr2/MidOhio/Beaverrun/side1223.jpg http://www.adamdaley.com/max/mr2/MidOhio/Beaverrun/dirt.jpg http://www.adamdaley.com/max/mr2/MidOhio/Beaverrun/side1221.jpg

I know where that is! Performance Theory off the Ghetto on Cleveland Ave. I have taken my car there 3 times, Nate is a great guy. I like the rims, I don't like the paint. Flat just looks unfinished to me unless it is a badass vehicle like a GT-R or Ducati.

Wow, I did not know you could rebuild a turbo locally, good to know. I will first try an oil catch can and see how that works.

So you wanna look fast? Step inside (LSX content inside)

Looks good. Ignore these tire comments. Do what you want and like. Track it ever? -
I am picking up a Greddy catch can for $40 tomorrow used. I will toss that on there. Where is the PCV valve located? If you look at this labeled image of my motor you can see the vent tube comes right out of the valve cover and into the intake before the turbo. http://www.postworkout.com/jon/public/mr2/MR2_engine_Rev2.jpg Ideas? Maybe I don't have a PCV valve since it is a turbo and it creates a vacuum on that line?

I went to the track and was running my car hard. I noticed that I had oil splatter on the engine which was coming out of the manual boost controller bleeder hole. Then I pulled off my hot pipe and about 3 table spoons of oil came out of the bottom if the side mounted inter cooler. I have a stock '95 MR2 turbo with around 100k miles on it on a '91 MR2 with 135k. Engine mods are a manual boost controller and turbo back exhaust. I have my old turbo, but the intake fins are smashed from sucking in a piece of plastic off the filter adapter the previous owner put on. Can I swap the good compressor wheel off the '95 oil leaking turbo and put it on the '91 non leaking turbo, then put the '91 back on the car? Do I just need to buy a new turbo? How long will the '95 leaker run? When it goes, will it destroy my engine or just leave me stranded? I just don't want to drop $1k on a turbo right now. Someone said it might be leaking from the PVC since the oil level was at the full line and I was running a track day. Here is a diagram of the engine bay: http://www.postworkout.com/jon/public/mr2/MR2_engine_Rev2.jpg Current '95 Turbo leaking oil: http://www.adamdaley.com/max/mr2/engine/oilturbo.JPG Old '91 Turbo with chewed fins http://www.adamdaley.com/max/mr2/turbocrap.jpg

Holy hell! There is some awful grammar on this thread. You need to replace the valve. A lot of those are crimp type connectors so you can't unhook them. Steve, you can't put in a new inner valve like on a car tire? As Steve said, you need to pull a vacuum for around 20 minutes and then leave the vacuum for about an hour to make sure all the moisture is out. The lower the air pressure, the easier water boils. Then with the vacuum still present, you can fill the system with refrigerant. You need a set of gauges to do this the proper way. Like this: http://www.firstfives.org/faq/AC/image002.jpg Also a good read here: http://www.firstfives.org/faq/AC/ac_charge.html

His reason is for towing and driving only 100 miles a month not off roading. I would get the 2wd. Even in 2wd on a 4x4 you get worse mileage. You have more parts to haul around in the transfer case, more gears spinning and more stuff to break. Slap some snow tires on there for the winter and you will be fine. I would say that 95% of the time I drove my truck I did not need 4x4. I only used it the first day it snowed before they would plow or backing a trailer into a tight spot (4x4 low). If you have a boat, I would get the 4x4 for the boat ramps, other then that 2wd is fine.
