Did a Lake Powell vacation one year. Awesome house boat, wakeboard boat, jet skis - thought we had it good until the guy across was towing a guy on a wakeboard with his heli that he eventually landed on his house boat. Some serious money out there.
I've spent some time in the manufacturing world, so I wouldn't mind having a bigger machine I could set and forget and make some money on. This is a great machine for 1 piece, but would be quite labor intensive for production quantities.
I'll list it for $2500. Would sell if $2000. That include the machine and computer. Any less than that I'd rather keep it. It has been surprisingly useful for my project for making parts/shimming/finishing.
Sale would go toward me building a table unit.
For anyone interested I did get this pig running. Keyboard controlled for basic stuff and code controlled for anything complex/not in a straight line.
Can't decide if I want to keep it or sell. These things go for more than I thought.
When I was looking at buying a loft I was very surprised to see how much I qualified for. It was definitely more than I would have been comfortable paying.
As far as cars I am more concerned about lifetime ownership cost than anything. New car prices as inflated because of the warranty that I don't want/need. I would rather buy an old german with some gremlins, get it in working order over my 15-20k mile ownership and sell it for a profit.
My project car, a V8 E30, has all of the parts bought and just needs some wrenching and I have a $400 net profit on it as it sits from parting out the donor car. Could I have afforded something faster/cooler? Sure, but I have done really well investing and throwing away $10,000 in opportunity cost adds up.
Well he bought an M82a1. Paid $11,000 for it.
The guy who sold it to him convinced him he was an ex military guy with connections to guns and accessories nobody else could get. David Hannum is right again.
I'll upload pictures/details when he gets it in.
He is more the "for fun to make his friends smile".
Sounds like he should lean towards the 82 like you mentioned.
Any recommended examples on gunbroker or armslist?
Awesome thanks, this is why I asked.
I got back to him with this and he was convinced he was getting a semi-auto M95... I finally convinced him the M95 was bolt action and he is set on getting a semi auto.
What are the differences between the 82 and 107? Either worth getting over the other?
I have a buddy that wants to pick one of these up.
2 magazines, 200 rounds, scope, range finder, etc.
I know that isn't much info, but he said it was $10,000. Is that too much? Any good examples for sale right now?
Sitting here shaking my head and smiling at this accomplishment. I remember being 15/16 and seeing 'the colt' at the lot. Same JP different platform. Congrats.
I saw your car - love it.
At this point in my life I care much more about resale and investing than driving something I could, but shouldn't. Also, in my line of work driving something too nice, raises eyebrows and isn't good for business.
The car is nothing special, but it's nice to have a car again I can drive across the country and not think twice about it. Or need to fill up 15 times.
