Heat wrap is probably to keep the head away from the tranny to keep it together. Not sure a thermal coating would be any better. Maybe some nice polished head shields though, or a gigantic tranny blanket made out of DEI stuff. Badass never the less.

I really hope you're joking. That dsm tuning is not good for a car. Use a dyno and get fuel trims in order. Add timing until it makes no more power, if 1* more only yields 1hp in that rpm range, take the timing away, not worth it. That's why you use a dyno and not the street. Steady stating is your friend when it comes to drivability also.

If you go with an AEM or Haltech (Recommended), basically any good standalone, I've got a guy who is very knowledgeable in making big power with these cars.

Nope, went to Mad River Local Schools, Graduating from UD in May with a BS in ME, not that that has dick to do with anything. Still not sure what point you're trying to make? The 250 is slow as balls, and given the choice of an IS300 or a 250, I'd take the 300 every time. Seems like you're agreeing with me but are too dumb to interpret what I'm saying?

The one I drove had some bolt ons but it wasn't terribly slow. Just didn't meet my expectations as what the old IS drove like.

So the LFA is built for the masses? And the LS460? Toyota builds for the masses, Lexus sells to the few (relatively). What does that have to do with the new IS being like 12.0:1 compression and still slow as fuck?

You can't boost the damn things without building them either. Not sure why they didn't stick with the JZ engines.

I do 3D modelling, Inventor, Catia, Pro-E, Solidworks, Solid Edge. Have done some pretty complex stuff in the past (Cylinder heads, exhaust manifolds, intake manifolds, etc).
