  1. Did you ditch the flatbed? If so, what kind of shape was it in? Might be intersted if you want to sell?
  2. Looking for an older Chevy military truck or just a regular 1 ton pickup. Typically they have the 6.2 diesel in them. Doesn't have to be clean or necessarily run. If anyone knows anything about an upcoming auction at a military base etc., I'd appreciate the info. Thanks.

    Sold

I had one of these at work until we upgraded to the M6800. These things are powerful. Great price too.
  4. Anyone else ever have meetings like this? http://www.cnet.com/news/this-is-how-an-engineer-feels-when-hes-surrounded-by-idiots/
  5. I have an 89 Dodge 318 out of a w250. Bought the motor off a guy who swore to me it was a 360, but sadly he lied. He did show me a video of it running before he pulled it. Sounded health, no smoking or odd noises. Underneath the valve covers looks like a typical 25 year old engine. Complete from the carb to the oil pan. Needs a dizzy cap. I have a set of truck long tube headders that can go with it as well. Willing to either trade for a good 360 core for a rebuild or sell. I've got $350 in it. I'll take $200 to get it gone.
  6. I'm just speaking from experience. We use hardened 10.9 grade lag anchors (Metric) for all of our machinery and robots. We just finished installing a gantry system supported by 6x 6x12 steel beams that hold up two 165kg payload robots. It might be overkill, but when we're talking a few dollars more for good fasteners, what's your safety and peace of mind really worth?
  7. Regular all thread is way too soft for this application in my opinion. I would go with the biggest highest grade youth can fit in the hole.
  8. Ohh, I see what you're asking. We don't typically set nuts under the plane of the floor. That is just an image I pulled off google, disregard the nut below the floor.
  9. You set the anchors and nuts and posts before you pour your concrete.
  10. Layout where you want your anchors to go and drill your holes. I'd epoxy the anchors in, if it were me. Let them set once you've drilled and placed them. Place a nut on the bottom of all the anchors. Set your lifts' posts on the nuts, lock washer and nut on top. Use the lower nuts and/or combination of shims to level your machine. You want at least a 1/2" gap, but no more than 1.5". Once everything settles, build a nice form out of 2x4 or whatever you have laying around. Pick up some Quickrete non shrink precision grout. Mix and pour it in your form, making sure all of it gets under the machine. Once it dries and settles, you're done!
  11. This is typically how we set machines and robot bases on our floors: http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/bridge/images/sign13.gif http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/bridge/images/sign12.gif
  12. If it's 4wd it'll need inner and outer axles. The splines like to strip out. Auto trans are junk. Blocked coolant passages. I know the 5.9s crack intake manifolds, not if those are common between the two.
  13. Ford and Honda have been using Sintered Steel Connecting Rods for years now, not really the same application, but just gives you an idea of how strong it can be.
  14. Looking for a good-ish rebuildable dodge 360 LA motor. Don't need intake manifold or carb, just from heads to oil pan. Let me know if anyone has anything. Thanks.
  15. https://www.nicb.org/theft_and_fraud_awareness/vincheck VIN back as not being reported stolen within the last 5 years
  16. That's my big issue with it. I've bought one of CL a while back and took it out to haspen, on the way back got pulled over by a state boy, no title, came up hot and they confiscated it. Never got my money or the ATV back.
  17. http://www.thelakeviewhardware.com/used-equipment Couple of old wheel horses on here. I bought my '81 Simplicity from there last year. They do a big auction in July as well.
  18. On the right side if the motor where the jug meets the crank case there should be "xxxx cc" engraved in it.
  19. What size is the engine? Any issues with the quad?
  20. Replacing a human with a robot is almost always a cost savings for us. Weather or not that get reflected in the price of the vehicle, I couldn't say. For instance, I am working on a cell right now to assemble, test, and install the differential in a transmission, and by going from 2 associates/shift to 0, we cut our cost in half to produce the parts. You cant look at it like preserving jobs for everyone, you need to preserve your own. If you don't make something as efficient and cost effective as you can, someone else will.
