  1. I've got a racing go kart in the garage that needs a little work I'd sell reasonably cheap. Newer predator 6.5HP motor. Needs brake hoses, bumpers re-installed and cleaned up. Have a few sets of extra tires as well. Similar to this one: https://i.ushipcdn.com/resize.php?path=%2Fstatic%2F068c22d8-ab90-44e5-8.jpg&w=270&h=210
  2. I've seen it at Rural King actually.
  3. You'll need a .STL file for 3D printing. With rhino you should be able to save to that format.
  4. I've used google sketchup a few times... its OK, but not great. There's a product out called "FreeCAD" that I've heard some good things about. I've used mostly CATIA, Solidworks, Pro E and Inventor, but they are big $$
  5. I've got a Davinci Jr. Pretty neat. ~6" cube print area. I've made a bunch of parts for my bike, tall boy adapters for the yeti coozies (only way I can justify using it), some investment casting patterns, and go pro mounts. My 21 year old nephew can also also operate it no problem. Play around with some sort of modeling software (I use Solidworks) and design your own pieces, save as an .STL file, dump it into their software and go! I believe Google sketchup is free?
  6. Yeah quarter panel is bent in a bit and it looks like the bumper has been taken down to bare plastic in some spots :fuuuu:
  7. Looking for a price on what it will take to fix this. 2010 Infiniti G37x. Someone hit my car in a parking lot last weekend and drove off. Trying to figure out if it's worth turning into insurance or handling cash. Thanks.
  8. Do it. You won't be disappointed.
  9. I've got the S8+ with the otterbox commuter and the otterbox alpha glass. Love it so far. Coming from a Note 4, its much thinner and the performance is great.
  10. We've done 2x with Buckeye Escape Room https://www.buckeyeescaperoom.com/ (Escape the 90s, and one other that was somewhat Saw Like ish. Very well put together and polite, friendly staff.
  11. Maybe I'm calling them the wrong thing. What you have is probably fine for what you're doing. If we don't CMM, we use these at work for all ID measurements. Again, we're dealing with the 0.001mm and you're probably only concerned with .010mm at most I would guess.
  12. Read through this. This is Mitutoyo's info and brands like Starrett etc might vary, but this will give you a good idea of the capabilities of various tools. http://www.mitutoyo.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/C-section.pdf
  13. Journal Bearing Clearances, Con Rod ID/Out of round, Piston to wall clearance, cylinder out of round/concentricity, wrist pin clearances etc. Snap gauges can have some repeatability and accuracy issues based on technique, your micrometers you're measuring with, etc. Even then they're still slightly less accurate than your micrometers that you're using to measure the gauge with. Typically the best practice is to measure the actual part with the actual tool. I'm not sure what level of accuracy/precision you're trying to obtain, but my experience at work is all down to the 0.001mm. FWIW, if you can pick up a nice set of ID mics, they are much easier to use and produce a more repeatable measurement.
  14. I would also add a good set of ID mics in there too if you're getting really serious about it. Snap gauges and micrometers are only so accurate. Also remember that your measurement tools are only as good as the calibrations done on them.
  15. Steve Hurlbut in bellefontaine. Hes the automatic honda transmission whisperer. 937-844-7850. IIRC he rebuilt my buddies odyssey trans plus r&r for 1k.
  16. Do they have chrome powdercoat now a days?
  17. Looking to get my pipes on my bike re-chromed. Anyone know anything about this? Prep work needed? Will a company re-chrome used exhaust? Any recommendations on where to get this done?
  18. No idea on power. It's as stock as it gets. Plenty of torque though. Played with a 2013+ RS on 270 last weekend and was surprised I kept up. I've been keeping an eye out for a used Stillen kit, but not sure if I'll ever actually bite the bullet. Interior is very nice and comfortable. I fit in it surprisingly comfortable (6'1", 235lbs). Gas mileage is meh; I average ~24mpg.
  19. I've got a '10 G37x sedan. 0 problems with it with ~125k miles. Cant go wrong.
  20. That S14 SR swap and coilovers though....
  21. I have the exact same one. Bolts that mount the compressor to the frame backed out over time and the high pressure air line cracked. Need to take it back for an exchange. I run it in parallel with another compressor (5hp 18gal maybe?) and am able to use cut off wheels and roloc disks no problem. Even painted a truck with them. It's a decent compressor for hobby type work.
  22. In the manufacturing environment, we've got a lot of associate input to solve problems, which could be very useful, but more often than not the associate will provide some solution which doesn't attack the root cause of the problem, because they put no time into understanding or analyzing the problem. There's no one to filter these ideas, good or bad. I'm not tied directly to production anymore, so luckily it isn't my problem.
  23. This is probably my least favorite thing about working here. I feel like this concept actually constricts us to always doing the same things. Those who are very good at what they do are rewarded the exact same as those who constantly fuck things up. I would venture to say we're 10-15 years behind the curve in automation technology. We're just moving from COAX to Ethernet based networking for our machine data collection. As far as the training goes, ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS TRAINING!!!! Another place I think new hires can benefit are the steps to solving a problem. I see it all too often that kids come in and are very anxious to hit the ground running, but skip over the first steps of solving a problem (understanding the cause of the problem, understanding that relieving symptoms of the problem isn't the same as solving the problem, etc.).
  24. I currently use AFTV for my kodi setup. Super easy to install with ES file explorer. Just using the configuration wizard standard add ons. Genesis for movies, phoenix for streaming tv, and sports devil for live games. No problems with quality or buffering unless the internet is slow (rural centurylink dsl sucks!)
