  1. I must be grumpy today...forgot to mention...those rims on that Z4 look like ass. Looks like 1972 Ford Torino hub caps. :gabe:
  2. My two most dissapointing test drives ever...BMW Z3 back when they came out and the latest Audi A4 just last winter. Cheap, under-powered, cramped, poor handling poser cars that fell seriously short of my expectations going into the drives. Both times I really thought I was going to drive it home...until I got behind the wheel.
  3. I hate people with no respect for you property. You need a garage and alarm system.
  4. Put-in-Bay, Cedar Point, Hocking Hills, Zoar and or Roscoe Villages, a Buckeye football game, the Air Force Museum, a concert at Blossom Music Center, Goodguys Nationals...those are the best of Ohio IMHO. Those are the most unique. I grew up around the Amish and spent a lot of time in Amish country so it doesn't have the same charm for me as it does for most.
  5. We have the Samsung PN50C7000YF plasma. I think the 3D is better than what you see in theaters. No so diffused. For regular HD programming...especially sports...it is AMAZING. It is so fast. You won't be dissapointed. BTW, compare plasma to LED in 3D before you buy an LED.
  6. Ya...I would absolutely put inserts in all her holes if I had easy access...uh...wow that didn't come out the way I meant it.
  7. Painless. One thing he mentioned was that heavy carbon build up can increase the compression and lead to a plug blowing. I hadn't ever heard of that before. I ran a bottle of lucas fuel system cleaner through it for good measure. He said the stuff shops use is a lot better so maybe that is in my future too. I have a compression tester so I'll check it against specs when I get some free time. In the meantime the old pick em up truck is back in business.
  8. Hey...Toy Barn has a 2000 GS-R, manual, with 60k miles. No pics yet. I've bought a couple cars off them in the past. You have to bicker price pretty hard but they are otherwise good to deal with.
  9. I respect OP's quest. My brother in law had an Integra RS back in the day and we swapped rides whenever he needed to borrow my truck. Still one of the best fitting cockpits I've ever been in. Everything was exactly where it should be and shift/pedal effort was perfect...for me. Overlooking the torque steer...it was a very planted car too.
  10. Aluminum's melting point is awefully close to the exhaust gas temperature for many gas engines. Diesel is even hotter. I suppose with some kind of coating or cooling fins it would be OK...but that may negate your weight savings. I also agree that fatigue would be an issue. People don't realize the stress and impacts exhaust systems take. All that being said...it would be a fun experiment to conduct in a bench setup.
  11. Any boaters on here will note that many of these are Fuel docks. They won't/can't fill your car there. Most marine engines require low/no ethanol. That is why you see this. Also, you will find the prices quite a bit higher than your local filling station. I also notice that it is incomplete. None of my usual spots on lake Erie are listed and they are all no-ethanol including my home marina's Shell fuel dock.
  12. Ya, totally a design issue. It's not like there isn't PLENTY of room there for more threads. Rocky's buddy is going to come out next week. I think I got lucky that it is an easy one to do and not one of the 4 rear-most plugs. I just don't want to have to buy a repair kit. The cheapies aren't up to the task. I really want a solid insert. I'll put out an update on what we run into once it is done.
  13. I would leave them. I replaced the coils because one had shorted out. I thought I was being thorough changing all the plugs too. In retrospect I should have just changed the bad coil. If it ain't broke....
  14. Once in a blue moon you may want to actually see and check out what you are buying...otherwise...online is better.
  15. like 140k miles so far. I changed all plugs and coils a while back. I followed all torque specs and did it with the engine cold as advised. I guess these just go. It's a poor design. I haven't looked at it closely with a light yet to see how much it took with the plug. Hoping there is enough material there to repair. Going to call Rocky's guy and talk about it.
  16. Hey guys...blew a plug yesterday in my V10. It is right up front. I looked online and Time-Sert, Helicoil, Calvan, etc. kits to repair this are all pretty expensive. Anyone have one of these I can borrow? I'll order inserts to restock the kit. It has to be M14x1.25 for spark plugs set in a deep hole or at least have a 3/8 or 1/2 socket fitting so I can get an extention on it. The cheapie kit with a rubber coated handle I see for sale everywhere will not work on this. Thanks in advance. Looking to do the repair some night next week.
  17. Beat me to it. But for the damage you are describing...bros before...uh...trailers I guess. :dumb:
  18. That is exactly what one of my dockmates uses for this purpose.
  19. I'd like to add that the rules for what goes in the dumpster vary WIDELY depending on who you deal with and how much you use them. Depending on what you need to toss...that can make a huge difference. <double spacing so there is plenty of room between the lines>
  20. Any know who sells aluminum scaffold planks or wheelchair ramps locally? I need something ideally 10' long that can support a person walking across it. It's for my boat dock. Used would be ideal if it saved $.

    spider ID?

Dude, we have tons of those. Just the other day one dropped onto my car when I put the garage door up and came at me. They are agressive but I think they are harmless. We have chickens and guineas and peacocks and they LOVE to eat these spiders. The go crazy when they find one and the whole flock plays smear the queer. It's nuts. We also have a LOT of milk snakes on the property. Saw someone post one for sale on here...had to laugh. If anyone wants a milk snake, let me know...I'll just go outside and grab one for ya. We even get them in the house. They come in and get too big to squeeze back out the stones in the foundation.
  22. That Suby brochure really hurts man! Nice vette. GLWS.
  23. Any recommendations for someone who repairs and paints stucco?
