  1. Agree with the Seadoo or Yamaha comments. No matter what... you want to hear them run, do a compression test and inspect the impeller gasket area. Once you have them...invest in battery tenders...always pre-start at home before you go to the lake, winterize them yourself and never, ever let anyone operate them out of your sight.
  2. An Aston with a drop-top is missing at least its second best design feature...Dat roofline... Like this... http://www.flickr.com/images/slideshow/thirdparty_thumb.jpg
  3. Spend any real time in westbygod and you'll notice the disparity between the rich and poor is greater than the rest of the country. There are amazingly rich folks down there but it is almost like a fuedal society in some places.
  4. This. Let it do its job. In my experience when people root their devices and then install everything they want; they end up near where they started but without vendor support. It's a phone not a lifestyle. Seriously. In lieu of the my usual Apple hate....I have to admit something...I went to Verizon with my girl recently because her S3 stopped powering on and I went to the temple of pretence...um...I mean the "Genius Bar" with her daughter's ipod that also wouldn't power on. Verizon did zero for us except offer to sell her a new one at full price (it is only like 10 months old). Apple on the other hand didn't even bother trouble-shooting the problem and just replaced it with a new one free. (she got it for xmas so, about the same age device). So, reluctantly I give Apple a nod. The crapple hater in me wonders tho if their hardware is so crappy that they just build replacement into their bloated price. Sorry for the thread-jacking. If you are a techie...you will love your android device...if not...don't let that Apple go just yet.
  5. Was the lockbox hidden at all or pretty obvious. I ask because being prepared to break open a lockbox or even looking for one sounds like they had prior knowledge to me. Just sayin'.
  6. I'm convinced it will result in a MAJOR mid-generation facelift. I saw a black one at a show in Lancaster. I had thought black would cover the clumsy lines but it did not. It didn't help that it was placed near a silver C5z which is one of the most perfect looking modern era vettes IMHO. I was also surprised the interior didn't look like the upgrade everyone keeps talking about. Hopefully performance will keep people buying unlike the dark days of the late C3 to early C4 era. I don't see a C7 in my future which is sad. I've been a vette guy my whole life. Oh well. I guess my C6z won't lose value due to being N-1 generation. I really can't see people rushing out to buy this new car. Too much ugly for the money.
  7. 200hp, 151ft.-lb torque
  8. Borax Powder...absolute solution. It gets on them and they spread it around the hive. A little slow but fail-proof.
  9. I saw a black C7 "Stingray" at the vette show in Lancaster over the weekend. I'll admit that I am always slow to warm up to new generations of vettes. But I usually find something I like and then it grows from there. With the C5 I thought it was too plain. Now it is my second favorite generation style-wise after the early C3s. I thought the C6 was too angular the fixed headlights too foriegn. After driving my C6Z for a few years the whole look seems to fit. It is a modern interpretation of the same theme. The C7 is an exception. I don't see anything there that says corvette to me. Looks like a Fisker or something like that with a camaro rear-end tacked on. Just about everywhere you look on the car it is awkward and unidentifiable as a vette. I predict there will be a major re-styling mid-generation on this one. It is just too damn ugly.
  10. meh...that is the kinda thing I'd expect on a chic car.
  11. 325 25 20s here...only have about 2k on them so far but very very solid in rain. I was pleasantly surprised. Car has to make quite a difference too...TC? suspension travel? tire design? etc.
  12. Hmm. I would be even less likely to go to AZ for a race than I am to go to Austin. I guess I'm guilty of comparing it to Indy. The race kinda sucked there but you could do the trip in 3 hours each way and well under $1k for 2 people. I went every year it was held. When I looked into going to Austin...I was like...why not go to somewhere like Silverstone or Montreal for that money? The logistics for an austin trip suck. The cheaper route was direct to either Dallas or Houston. Any hotel that was reasonable was WAY outside of Austin. So, even if you pay for the connecting flight a rental car is a must. you could drive but I've driven to Texoma from here and, no thank you. Austin is quite a bit more than that. the drive would be boring, long and a waste of valuable time off work. I think they should wait and see if Austin is successful before building another track in a tertiary market.
  13. To be clear...this 'relative' is a sibling or actual blood relative and not married to him, right? I ask because you are understandibly vague but it makes a huge difference. If this is a spouse...whether you like it or not...all the money matters are legit. Aggravating...but legit. Be careful the drug accusations don't get turned back on you, the nurse or others. Good luck.
  14. I guess it is all a matter of perspective. For me...this marks the end of my support for Mclaren after about 15 years as a fan. (not that they would care, lol). Honda's last involvement in F1 was all sorts of fail. Plus...as much as I respect their long dedication to motorsports and their motorcycles and powersports products...their road cars are...well...markedly NOT what would appeal to your typical F1 enthusiast.
  15. Agree...not a fan of the car itself...looks like a K-Car with JC Whitney fender flares...but that color is sweet.
  16. I go through there daily. 55+ is normal during rush. All the side roads and ramps should be no-left-turn IMHO. Maybe they should put a median so people can't turn left. This is going to keep happening unfortunately.
  17. um...so...cops went home and came back the next day? Did anyone notice that? Great job guys. So...I see you have a ground up employee here...we gotta go...it's beer-thirty and um...ya...the next shift will take care of all this mess.
  18. These are very solid nice boats. GLWS
  19. This. My brother does vinyl for a living and has done serveral cars for large promotional events. It is A LOT harder than you'd think.
  20. That windshield tint is definitely going to get you attention. In my experience if you run with no tint on the windshield (no extra) and at least have the front windows close to legal they leave you alone. Granted there are other factors. FYI...I got ticketed for tint in New Albany and they added a fine for tinted license plate covers. I got a check in the mail from them a few months later with a note that they did an audit and discovered that they had no ordinace against tinted plate covers. Got my 45 bucks back.
  21. April Fools but prob enough to drive a local run on ammo...what there is left that is...
  22. Thanks all! I'll do that tonight.
  23. Hey guys. I'm trying to trace a problem with the rear wiper on my fiance's 2006 Pontiac Montana SV6. It doesn't operate at all. I went to check the fuse and found it has a diode. (delphi part#121335037). I have no clue how these operate or how to check a diode. If I run over to the part store will they have these diodes on hand? do they fail like a fuse? I was thinking of just replacing it since it is so easy. Then start the process of checking the wire run starting with where it enters the body from the rear hatch. Any tips would be appreciated.
