Is your '13 Passat a diesel? I've been looking at these due to MPG vs. size. My commute went from 17 miles to 47 miles each way since last year.

Sounds like new calipers. Maybe they wore down where they contact the pad backing plates. Dunno. Oddball problem. Oh well...calipers minus core shouldn't be too costly. Definitely get new pins and grease it all up good. GL man.

What I was looking for is whether these parts were a part# by part# exact replacement. Same vehicle. If so...then this is a mystery. I don't buy the warping theory at all. Did you have any trouble with the installation? Anything you had to 'influence' into position?

Calipers warping? hell nah. (I won't get into my opinion on 'warping' rotors, meh) I see the Buick center caps. What car is this? What car did the calipers and rotors come off of specifically? What about the brackets? Did they come off the other car or are they at least the same exact specs? I'm going to hazard a guess that the bracket being used is positioning the caliper at least slightly farther outboard than it should be. Still...you would think with the way the calipers float that wouldn't matter unless it was far off. Plus...if it was too far off...with how tight new pads fit you would think you would not have gotten the caliper on. I would have expected the inner pads wouldn't have cleared. You sure the pads are new-new? That is the only thing I can think of. I can't imagine the stock parts are too expensive...why don't you return to stock? Were you actually hoping for some kind of improvement? This is a buick, right? That couch you sit on to drive isn't going to get more cumfy with bigger brakes installed. Sorry...couldn't help that. Not knocking your ride dude. I'm rocking the '05 Montana mini-van as a DD right now so...I don't have a place to talk.

Hee. duh..... I agree on the leaves being hideous. Does that help? I contend that the Heisman while not being expected to predict future success is impacted by a poor future performance. This is especially true for subsequent bowl games which have been cursed by the Heisman. Look at Troy...second highest percentage of heisman votes in history. Totally blew the NCG and went on to pretty much suck at the next level. You don't think that makes people think less of the Heisman? In any case...the rules violations and holy hell...the vacated 2005 Heisman are far worse.

I love my Buckeyes but our D is not championship material. They aren't bad but they aren't great and several of the teams around us in the rankings would pick our secondary apart. I wish there was a scenario left where we could go to the Rose Bowl. But we are left with two paths...a consolation bowl or a slim chance in the NCG. I guess I prefer the chance at glory. IMHO the worst bowling we've done in recent history wasn't one of the losses in the NCG. The worst was that consolation bowl against Brady Quinn and a Notre Dame team that looked like a high school squad. They gave us zero competition. The opposite of love isn't hate...it is apathy. Consolation bowls do more erode our image than earning our way to a big-boy game and losing. I prefer the role of villian for the country. Hate on us all you want for getting to the NCG. Awesome. Cry me a river SEC about how you have to play each other and that is somehow harder. This weekend...we are going to face a challenge every bit as tough as anyone else has had. MSU's D is real. Putting up offensive numbers is our thing. Our D certainly won't save us. We pass this test...we deserve a shot. Then is is up to the same guy who handed us one of those shamings to find a way to keep it from happening again. That is epic, right?

Hey all. I have my 2010 MB GLK350 over at the dealer right now. It was shuddering during accelleration and thumping when turning either direction. They suspect the transfer case which is built into the tranny. They haven't got back to me yet but I am anticipating a huge estimate. Is there an alternative to the dealer anyone could recommend? Someone that may be able to replace the clutchpacks in the transfer case and help me avoid the complete replacement? Or at least somewhere that could swap with a rebuild unit and save me some cash. I am really tight on money especially with the holidays coming.

Oh yeah...I totally doubted that 2002 team. Oh boy. I almost took a hiatus from watching football after that season. Ugly win after Ugly win. Please tell me I'm not alone there! Come on. You all remember that we didn't deserve the win at Purdue, right? If I remember right some of the calls that went our way in the NCG were hinky too. If you ignored polls and just watched the games...no way you'd expect the end result was a national championship that year. I am just a realist. I LOVE OSU football. I am not capable of overlooking our shortcomings and honestly I think I enjoy our successes more for it.

Doesn't matter what numbers I pick. Everyone here is going to call me a hater. I don't see us beating either team. That doesn't mean I'm not a fan. Everyone needs to cheer up. We are very likely going to the Rose Bowl and in every scenario we have a real chance to win there if we continue on our current path and prepare well.
